The Tāmaki River or Tāmaki Estuary is mostly an estuarial arm and harbour of the Hauraki Gulf, within the city of Auckland in New Zealand. It extends south for 15 kilometres (9 mi) from its mouth between the suburb of Saint Heliers and the long thin peninsula of Bucklands Beach, which reaches its end at Musick Point. The inlet extends past the suburbs of Glendowie, Wai o Taiki Bay, Point England, Glen Innes, Tāmaki, Panmure, and Ōtāhuhu to the west, and Bucklands Beach, Half Moon Bay, Farm Cove, Sunnyhills and Pakuranga to the east. It has several smaller "tributary arms" which extend from it: the Pakuranga Creek and Ōtara Creek in the east, and the Ōtāhuhu Creek and Panmure Basin in the west. The Ōtāhuhu Creek forms the eastern shore of the narrowest point on the Auckland isthmus: here it is about 1.25 kilometres (0.75 mi) to the waters of the Manukau Harbour, an arm of the Tasman Sea. It was originally called Te Wai o Taiki, meaning "The Waters of Taiki". The name Taiki is a shortened form of Taikehu, the name of an ancestor of Ngāi Tai.

Farm Cove Intermediate School is an intermediate school located in Pakuranga, Auckland. It opened in 1979. In February 2023 it had a roll of 268 students. The current principal is Dr Tamara Jones. The previous principals were Linda Harvie and Madeleine East. Madeleine East served for 17 years and was named an associate member of the New Zealand Principals’ Federation in May 2007 and a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit on 1 June 2009.The school has been awarded the MultiServe/Telecom Information Award and twice won the Goodman Fielder School of the Year Award in the large Primary/Intermediate category.

Farm Cove Observatory (FCO) is an amateur astronomical observatory in Pakuranga, Auckland, New Zealand, where Jennie McCormick discovered the main-belt asteroid 386622 New Zealand in September 2009.Built in 2000, the observatory has a Meade LX200R 14" Schmidt-Cassegrain F/10 telescope, purchased and on loan from Ohio State University Astronomy Dept. The observatory uses an SBIG ST8XME CCD camera with clear filter for data acquisition, this camera was supplied recently by the Centre for Backyard Astrophysics. FCO is only used for astronomical research. Farm Cove Observatory takes part in cataclysmic variable star (CV) research for the Center for Backyard Astrophysics and is also known as CBA Pakuranga. Up to January 2006, FCO has contributed over 1400 hours of data to the CBA, and the data from this observatory has been used in a number of scientific papers[1]. In April 2004 Farm Cove Observatory joined the MicroFUN collaboration [2] headed by Professor Andrew Gould at Ohio State University. The mission of MicroFUN is to obtain intense photometric monitoring of high magnification gravitational microlensing events in the hope of detecting planets orbiting the lensing star. Most of these events are found in the dense star fields of the bulge of the Milky Way galaxy. The first success came in April 2005 when an exoplanet was detected in the event OGLE-2005-BLG-071[3] [4]. The discovery was attributed to 31 professional astronomers and two amateurs. FCO contributed 12 hours of observations to this event. This new planet is about three times the mass of Jupiter and lies some 15,000 light-years toward the Galactic Bulge. This was only the second exoplanet detected by this technique and the first exoplanet discovery involving amateur observations. Recently, FCO has been contributing unfiltered magnitude measures to the British Astronomical Association campaign on Blazar OJ+287.

Marist Brothers Old Boys Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Auckland, New Zealand. The club was established in 1908 and is affiliated with the Auckland Rugby Football Union and New Zealand Marist Rugby Federation. Along with clubs like Grammar and University, Sacred Heart Old Boys, the predecessor of Marist, participated in an "Old Boys" competition until 1908, when the Auckland RFU scrapped the "district" scheme which had been in place from 1891. Consequently, Marist was formed, first fielding a premier team in 1910. The club have gone on to become one of the most successful clubs in Auckland, winning the Auckland competition on 11 occasions. Marist have produced numerous Auckland and New Zealand representatives, the latter including Sir John Kirwan, Robin Brooke, Zinzan Brooke, and more recently Isaia Toeava and Francis Saili.

Saint Kentigern College is a private co-educational Presbyterian secondary school in the suburb of Pakuranga on the eastern side of Auckland, New Zealand, beside the Tamaki Estuary. It is operated by the Saint Kentigern Trust Board which also operates Saint Kentigern Boys' School, Saint Kentigern Girls' School and Saint Kentigern Preschool based at two different campuses in Remuera. Established in 1953, the college is semi-coeducational with a single-gender Middle College for years 7 and 8, with years 9 and 10 single-gender in core subjects and a co-educational Senior College for years 11–13. Kentigern (or Mungo) is the patron Saint of Glasgow. In 2003, the college introduced girls into the school for the first time with 140 female students; these were known as the foundation girls. There are now over 900 female students attending, with numbers increasing every year. Saint Kentigern College is an IB World School offering the IB Diploma Programme for Year 12 and 13 students. The Saint Kentigern Trust Board approved the decision in late 2006. The course was first offered to Year 12 students in 2009.

Howick Pakuranga Cricket Club (inc.) is a cricket club in east Auckland, New Zealand. It was formed in and is located at Lloyd Elsmore Park.

Half Moon Bay, an affluent coastal suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, lies immediately south of Bucklands Beach. It formed part of Manukau City until the amalgamation of the entire Auckland Region in 2010 under one governing authority, Auckland Council. It is well known for the Half Moon Bay Marina, home to over 500 boats. It is located on the Tamaki Estuary in the Hauraki Gulf. Half Moon Bay is the location of a long-established ferry terminal for vehicle and passenger traffic to Waiheke Island and for a regular passenger ferry service to downtown Auckland.

Pakuranga Plaza (formerly Westfield Pakuranga) is a shopping centre in Pakuranga, Auckland, New Zealand. The centre features over 80 stores, including the major stores Farmers, Countdown and The Warehouse, although The Warehouse itself is external to the mall. Originally opened in 1965 as the Pakuranga Town Centre, the mall was one of the earliest malls in New Zealand, incorporating Farmers and George Court department stores. The mall itself has been transformed several times since it was first built and retains little of the 1960s style it once had (it was originally open to the air).In a 2008 rating of New Zealand shopping centres by a retail expert group, Westfield Pakuranga received three out of four stars based on the criteria of amount of shopping area, economic performance, amenity and appeal as well as future growth prospects. It was noted to have received a relatively high rating even though struggling with major competition from Botany Town Centre and Sylvia Park.On 10 December 2012, the mall was sold to Ladstone Holdings Ltd and was renamed Pakuranga Plaza. The mall was resold in October 2014 to GYP Properties.A busway station is to be built at the centre, as an intermediate stop on the Eastern Busway that will connect Botany Town Centre and Panmure railway station.

Pakuranga is an eastern suburb of Auckland, in northern New Zealand. Pakuranga covers a series of low ridges and previously swampy flats, now drained, that lie between the Pakuranga Creek and Tamaki River, two estuarial arms of the Hauraki Gulf. It is located to the north of Manukau and 15 kilometres southeast of the Auckland CBD.

Te Tuhi, formerly known as Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts, Te Tuhi - The Mark, Te Tuhi Gallery and Pakuranga Arts Society is a public contemporary art gallery situated in Pakuranga, Auckland, New Zealand.Managed by Te Tuhi Contemporary Art Trust and the Contemporary Art Foundation, Te Tuhi presents significant exhibitions and projects by New Zealand and international artists. Te Tuhi also serves as a focal point for the community as an events venue and meeting place for our many users and community groups in Pakuranga.

Pakuranga College is a co-educational secondary school in east Auckland, New Zealand. The college is named after the suburb it is located in, Pakuranga. The school emblem is the pegasus and the motto "Caelum Certe Patet".The current principal is Michael Williams, as of 2021.
