Pakuranga

Pakuranga Plaza (formerly Westfield Pakuranga) is a shopping centre in Pakuranga, Auckland, New Zealand. The centre features over 80 stores, including the major stores Farmers, Countdown and The Warehouse, although The Warehouse itself is external to the mall. Originally opened in 1965 as the Pakuranga Town Centre, the mall was one of the earliest malls in New Zealand, incorporating Farmers and George Court department stores. The mall itself has been transformed several times since it was first built and retains little of the 1960s style it once had (it was originally open to the air).In a 2008 rating of New Zealand shopping centres by a retail expert group, Westfield Pakuranga received three out of four stars based on the criteria of amount of shopping area, economic performance, amenity and appeal as well as future growth prospects. It was noted to have received a relatively high rating even though struggling with major competition from Botany Town Centre and Sylvia Park.On 10 December 2012, the mall was sold to Ladstone Holdings Ltd and was renamed Pakuranga Plaza. The mall was resold in October 2014 to GYP Properties.A busway station is to be built at the centre, as an intermediate stop on the Eastern Busway that will connect Botany Town Centre and Panmure railway station.

Howick Local Board is one of the 21 local boards of the Auckland Council, and is overseen by the council's Howick Ward councillors. The board's administrative area includes the suburbs Pakuranga, Howick, Flat Bush, and East Tāmaki, and covers much of east and south-east Auckland.The board is governed by nine board members, with three elected from each of the boards three sub-divisions. The inaugural members were elected in the nationwide 2010 local elections, coinciding with the introduction of the Auckland Council.

Te Tuhi, formerly known as Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts, Te Tuhi - The Mark, Te Tuhi Gallery and Pakuranga Arts Society is a public contemporary art gallery situated in Pakuranga, Auckland, New Zealand.Managed by Te Tuhi Contemporary Art Trust and the Contemporary Art Foundation, Te Tuhi presents significant exhibitions and projects by New Zealand and international artists. Te Tuhi also serves as a focal point for the community as an events venue and meeting place for our many users and community groups in Pakuranga.

Saint Kentigern College is a private co-educational Presbyterian secondary school in the suburb of Pakuranga on the eastern side of Auckland, New Zealand, beside the Tamaki Estuary. It is operated by the Saint Kentigern Trust Board which also operates Saint Kentigern Boys' School, Saint Kentigern Girls' School and Saint Kentigern Preschool based at two different campuses in Remuera. Established in 1953, the college is semi-coeducational with a single-gender Middle College for years 7 and 8, with years 9 and 10 single-gender in core subjects and a co-educational Senior College for years 11–13. Kentigern (or Mungo) is the patron Saint of Glasgow. In 2003, the college introduced girls into the school for the first time with 140 female students; these were known as the foundation girls. There are now over 900 female students attending, with numbers increasing every year. Saint Kentigern College is an IB World School offering the IB Diploma Programme for Year 12 and 13 students. The Saint Kentigern Trust Board approved the decision in late 2006. The course was first offered to Year 12 students in 2009.

Pakuranga Creek is a tidal estuary and stream in the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. The creek flows from inlant Pakuranga, meeting the Pakuranga Stream and flows into the Tāmaki River.

The Panmure Bridge, also known as the Tāmaki River Bridge, is a bridge crossing the Tāmaki River in Auckland, New Zealand, connecting the suburbs of Panmure and Pakuranga. The original 1865 bridge, a wooden and steel structure with a swing span allowing for river traffic, was the first bridge to connect the Auckland isthmus to the surrounding areas of Auckland, predating the opening of the Māngere Bridge in 1875. The swing-span mechanism, found on the eastern banks of the Tāmaki River, is the earliest surviving swing-span mechanism in New Zealand.The original bridge was replaced with a reinforced concrete bridge in 1916, replaced in 1959 with the current structure. As a part of the Eastern Busway work in 2021, a public and active transport bridge was constructed parallel to the Panmure Bridge.

Marist Brothers Old Boys Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Auckland, New Zealand. The club was established in 1908 and is affiliated with the Auckland Rugby Football Union and New Zealand Marist Rugby Federation. Along with clubs like Grammar and University, Sacred Heart Old Boys, the predecessor of Marist, participated in an "Old Boys" competition until 1908, when the Auckland RFU scrapped the "district" scheme which had been in place from 1891. Consequently, Marist was formed, first fielding a premier team in 1910. The club have gone on to become one of the most successful clubs in Auckland, winning the Auckland competition on 11 occasions. Marist have produced numerous Auckland and New Zealand representatives, the latter including Sir John Kirwan, Robin Brooke, Zinzan Brooke, and more recently Isaia Toeava and Francis Saili.

Atea College, formerly Carey College, is a private Christian school in Panmure, Auckland, New Zealand.The school's motto is "Learn to think for yourself". Atea College is a registered Cambridge International Centre, preparing students for Cambridge International Examinations IGCSE and A Level qualifications instead of the National Certificate of Educational Achievement ("NCEA"), which it regards as unsatisfactory.This school's curriculum implements a Bible-based worldview.The school was renamed Atea College in 2019 or 2020.

The 2001 Panmure RSA killings were a triple murder committed on 8 December 2001 at the Panmure RSA, in Auckland, New Zealand. The perpetrator, William Dwane Bell, had been fired by the RSA two weeks before for his behavior. He committed the murders while out on parole for a previous aggravated robbery in which he almost killed a service station attendant. Bell had more than 100 prior criminal convictions. Bell was given a 30-year minimum non-parole life sentence, at the time the longest minimum non-parole period ever given out by New Zealand.
