Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport (IATA: BKL, ICAO: KBKL, FAA LID: BKL) is a public airport on the shore of Lake Erie, in the northeast part of downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It's classified as a general aviation airport and is an FAA designated reliever to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), which is Greater Cleveland's primary airport. In 2018, based on FAA data, Burke Lakefront was the seventh busiest airport in the state of Ohio. It is named after former Cleveland mayor and U.S. senator Thomas A. Burke. Cleveland Burke Lakefront is one of three airports serving the Cleveland area. The other two are Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Akron-Canton Regional. The majority of passenger services are at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Akron-Canton Regional Airport, which serves the southern portion of the Cleveland area, including the cities of Akron and Canton, has some passenger services, though no rail connection to Downtown Cleveland as does Hopkins Airport. The airport is owned and operated by the city of Cleveland, which also operates Hopkins. The airport's total operations have decreased over the past two decades from 100,321 in 2000 to 40,185 in 2019. Between 2018 and 2019, operations increased by 16.5% from the 34,497 operations in 2018. Additionally, the airport is frequently used by professional sports team charter flights due to its proximity to FirstEnergy Stadium, Progressive Field, and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

The 2001 Marconi Grand Prix of Cleveland was a Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) motor race held on July 1, 2001, at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It was the 9th round of the 2001 CART FedEx Championship Series season. Team Green driver Dario Franchitti won the race after narrowly escaping a first-turn pile-up and then by gambling on a fuel-saving strategy that saw his car run out of fuel just after crossing the finish line ahead of a hard-charging Memo Gidley and Bryan Herta. Franchitti had won his first race since 1999 and the first for Team Green since Vancouver in 2000, vaulting the driver to 3rd in the points standings. Gidley took his first career podium in only his second start for Chip Ganassi Racing after replacing Nicolas Minassian at the previous race in Portland. Herta gave Forsythe Racing its first podium of the season after a dismal start to 2001. The race was a battle of multiple strategies after a rained-out qualifying session the day before produced an unusual starting grid; fuel mileage, the number of pit stops, and a chaotic first-lap incident ultimately determined the outcome of the race.

The Grand Prix of Cleveland was an Indy car event in the CART series, held annually at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. The race celebrated its milestone 25th anniversary in 2006. The race was most recently held in 2007. After the 2008 open wheel unification, the 2008 race had to be cancelled. Attempts to revive the race have not yet come to fruition.Normally a fully functioning airport year-round, Burke Lakefront Airport was shut down for the week leading up to the event each year, requiring careful maintenance of the runways in order to keep them safe for cars at high speeds. The race was very popular amongst fans, as the long, wide, runways (much wider and longer than typical courses) allowed for side-by-side racing, fast speeds, and superb passing zones around the entire track. The layout and overall flatness of the circuit also allowed a view of nearly the entire course from the grandstands. The track was less popular with drivers, as the runways were much bumpier than normal asphalt courses. The first turn, in which the runway narrowed and the cars turned at an almost 45 degree angle at the end of the front straight, was seen as one of the toughest in the circuit.

The 2004 Champ Car Grand Prix of Cleveland was the fifth round of the 2004 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford season, held on July 3, 2004 at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. Paul Tracy took the pole while Sébastien Bourdais won the race.

The 2005 Champ Car Grand Prix of Cleveland was the fifth round of the 2005 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford season, held on June 26, 2005 at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. Due to the controversy at the 2005 United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis, any fan who had a ticket to the 2005 United States GP was granted free admission to this race. Paul Tracy swept both the pole and the race win, his second victory of the season.

The 2007 Grand Prix of Cleveland is the fifth round of the 2007 Champ Car World Series Season. It was held on June 24 at the Burke Lakefront Airport, in Cleveland, Ohio.

The 2003 U.S. Bank Cleveland Grand Prix was the ninth round of 18 of the 2003 CART World Series season, held on July 5, 2003 at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. It was the first road course race to be held at night in CART history.

The Cleveland National Air Show is an annual air show held on Labor Day weekend at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. It was established in 1964 as an indirect successor to the National Air Races. The show includes stunt airplanes, modern fighters and alternates between the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds every other year. The show typically runs from 9:00 a.m. to around 4:30 p.m. EDT. The show usually starts with smaller acts, and the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds perform last. Another regular attraction is the NASA Glenn Research Center, which usually has an exhibit located near the back of the show. There is usually some type of heritage or legacy flight, sometimes both.There was no show in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Port of Cleveland is a bulk freight and container shipping port at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River on Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It is the third-largest port in the Great Lakes and the fourth-largest Great Lakes port by annual tonnage.The Port of Cleveland is the only container port on the Great Lakes, with bi-weekly service between Cleveland and Antwerp on a service called the Cleveland-Europe Express.

South Harbor is a station on the RTA Waterfront Line in Cleveland, Ohio. It is the northern terminus of the Waterfront Line and the terminus of the Blue and Green Lines. The station is located in a rather isolated setting on the southeast side of the Cleveland Municipal Parking Lot (locally known as the "Muni Lot"), and is generally only useful to access the parking areas. Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport is relatively close to the station, but to reach the airport one must cross the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway, and there is no pedestrian crossing.

SuccessTech Academy is an alternative public high school in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. A grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation helped to establish the school, which opened to enrollment in the 2002–2003 school year. SuccessTech Academy offers a technology infused high school curriculum with a focus on problem and project based learning. All 59 students in the school's first senior class (2006-2007) were college-bound.As of the 2009–2010 school year, SuccessTech's graduation rate was 94.9%

The Plain Dealer's media market, the Cleveland-Akron Designated Market Area, has a population of 3.8 million people, making it the 19th-largest market in the United States.In August 2013, The Plain Dealer reduced home delivery to four days a week, including Sunday. A daily version of The Plain Dealer is available electronically as well as in print at stores, newsracks and newsstands.
