West District, Taichung

The Shenji New Village (traditional Chinese: 審計新村; simplified Chinese: 审计新村; pinyin: Shěnjì Xīncūn) is a former dormitory area in West District, Taichung, Taiwan.

The Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center (also Da Dun Cultural Center, traditional Chinese: 臺中市大墩文化中心; simplified Chinese: 台中市大墩文化中心; pinyin: Táizhōng Shìlì Dàdūn Wénhuà Zhōngxīn) is a cultural center in West District, Taichung, Taiwan.

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA; traditional Chinese: 國立臺灣美術館; simplified Chinese: 国立台湾美术馆; pinyin: Guólì Táiwān Měishùguǎn) is a museum in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. NTMoFA was established in 1988 and is the first and the only national-grade fine arts museum in Taiwan. The major collections are works by Taiwanese artists, covering modern and contemporary Taiwanese arts. The museum covers 102,000 square meters, including the Public Outdoor Sculpture park, making it one of the largest museums in Asia. National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts was temporarily closed for renovation in 1999 due to damages caused by the 921 Earthquake and reopened in July 2004. From 2011 to 2016, NTMoFA attracted more than 1 million visitors each year.

The Shr-Hwa International Tower (Chinese: 世華國際大樓; pinyin: Shìhuá Guójì Dàlóu) is a 47-storey, 177 m (581 ft) tall skyscraper located in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. When it was completed in 2004, it was the tallest building in Taichung and it held the title for 14 years until it was surpassed by The Landmark (Taichung). As of August 2022, it is the 21st tallest building in Taiwan and the second tallest in central Taiwan. This building has a peculiar shape of a bamboo. The 24th to 45th floors of the building houses a five-star hotel - The Landis Taichung.

The Grand Forever (Chinese: 由鉅大恆) is a complex of twin residential skyscrapers located in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. The height of the buildings are 135 m (443 ft), with a total floor area of 56,083 m2 (603,670 sq ft), comprising 35 floors above ground, as well as five basement levels. The buildings were completed in 2016. As of January 2021, it is 30th tallest building in Taichung. The building was constructed under strict requirements of preventing damage caused by earthquakes and typhoons common in Taiwan.

The National Taichung University of Education (NTCU; Chinese: 國立臺中教育大學; pinyin: Guólì Táizhōng Jiàoyù Dàxué) is a university in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. Founded in 1899 at the Confucian Temple in Changhwa county, it moved to the current site in 1923. In 2005, the university was renamed National Taichung University of Education. NTCU had a College of Education, College of Humanities and Liberal Arts, and College of Mathematics and Information Science.

Park Lane by CMP (Chinese: 勤美誠品綠園道; pinyin: Qínměichéngpǐn Lǜyuándào) is a shopping center located West District, Taichung, Taiwan. The shopping center is jointly operated by the CMP Group and Eslite Bookstore.

The Fubon Sky Tree (Chinese: 富邦天空樹; pinyin: Fù bāng tiānkōng shù) is a residential skyscraper in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. Construction of the building began in 2013 and it was completed in 2016. The height of the building is 155.3 m (510 ft), and it comprises 39 floors above ground, as well as four basement levels. The building was designed by the Japanese architect Toyo Ito.

On February 15, 1995, a deadly fire broke out in the Weierkang Club (alternatively translated as the Welcome Bar), a Western-style restaurant and karaoke bar in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. The fire killed 64 people and injured 11, making it the second-deadliest fire in the history of Taiwan after the 1984 Meishan coal mine fire that killed 103.

The Long-Bang Trade Plaza, also Long-Ban World Trade Building or Long-Bong Trade Plaza (Chinese: 龍邦世貿大樓; pinyin: Lóng bāng shìmào dàlóu), is a complex of twin skyscraper office buildings located in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. The buildings were completed in 1991 and were one of the earliest skyscrapers built in Taichung, as well as the first buildings to reach 150 m (490 ft) in the city. The height of each building is 160 m (520 ft), the total floor area is 70,389 m2 (757,660 sq ft), and each building comprises 37 floors above ground, as well as five basement levels. The complex was designed by TMA Architects and Associates. As of December 2020, the buildings are the 11th tallest buildings in Taichung.

The Taichung Literature Museum (TLM; traditional Chinese: 臺中文學館; simplified Chinese: 台中文学馆; pinyin: Táizhōng Wénxuéguǎn) is a museum in West District, Taichung, Taiwan.

The Hotel National Taichung (Chinese: 全國大飯店; pinyin: Quánguó Dàfàndiàn) is a hotel in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. It is Taichung's first five-star hotel, founded in 1980, the central one of the famous hotel, located in Chungkang Road, the tight Pro with Luyuan Road, National Museum of Natural Science and SOGO Department Store. Currently Qin Mei Group acquisition.National Hotel have 306 rooms, five Chinese and Western restaurants and Banquet venues, and 400 plane parking spaces.
