Brussels-North railway station (French: Gare de Bruxelles-Nord, Dutch: Station Brussel-Noord), officially Brussels-North (French: Bruxelles-Nord, Dutch: Brussel-Noord), is one of the three major railway stations in Brussels (Belgium); the other two are Brussels-Central and Brussels-South. Every regular domestic and international train (except Thalys and Eurostar) passing there has a planned stop. The station has 200,000 passengers per week, mainly commuters, making it one of the busiest in Belgium. Brussels-North is the end point of the premetro (underground tram) North–South Axis (on lines 3 and 4), and an important node of the Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company (STIB/MIVB), as well as of bus lines of the Flemish transport company De Lijn. More than 30 regional bus lines depart from there, as do international Eurolines coach services. The station is located in the Brussels municipality of Schaerbeek, in the middle of the Northern Quarter business district (also called Little Manhattan), with several corporation headquarters such as Belgacom Towers, Rogier Tower and others, government offices, as well as Flemish ministries. Right next to the station is the Rue d'Aerschot/Aarschotstraat, an area of prostitution "behind windows".

Hogeschool Sint-Lukas Brussel, based in the Schaerbeek municipality of Brussels, Belgium, was until its takeover by KU Leuven in 2012 the only independent art school in Flanders. It is a predominantly Dutch-speaking institution located on the Paleizenstraat/Rue de Palais, and at another site, within reachable distance of Brussels' North Station. The Hogeschool provides exclusively art-related university-level higher education, hence the name. It houses around 1,000 students across its academic provision, and can trace its roots back to the first foundation of a Sint-Lukas art school in 1880. The school offers master programmes (four years) across the disciplines of audio-visual arts, graphic and publicity design, photography and fine art and bachelor programmes in interior design and construction. It also organizes Transmedia, a postgraduate programme for art students. The Hogeschool actively encourages student mobility, and maintains several links with art schools across the continent through the Socrates programme and the Erasmus programme, with language of instruction to exchange students being English in the appropriate circumstances. It is closely associated with the Sint-Lukas gallery in the city, showcasing contemporary art and its documentation.

The North Galaxy Towers are twin 28-storey skyscrapers on King Albert II Street in the Northern Quarter central business district of Brussels, Belgium. There is a third building in the complex which is 6 storeys tall. The first two floors are shared by all three buildings.The two towers are 107 metres (351 ft) tall, placing them amongst the tallest buildings in Belgium. The complex has 110,000 square metres (1,200,000 sq ft) of office space above ground and 46,000 square metres (500,000 sq ft) below ground. About 8,000 square metres (86,000 sq ft) of the space below ground is used for archives. There are a total of 35 elevators in the complex.The towers were originally conceived as part of an eight-building Brussels World Trade Center complex, but were splintered off into a separate project. The construction of the towers began in 2002 and ended in 2004. The complex is being leased by the Belgian federal government. It houses the Federal Public Financial Service and other governmental bodies, with all three buildings used for administration and management.

The Proximus Towers (French: Tours Proximus, Dutch: Proximus-torens, known as the Belgacom Towers before the company's name change) are twin skyscrapers on King Albert II Street in the Northern Quarter central business district of Brussels, Belgium. The buildings take their name from the telecommunications company Proximus. They are among the tallest buildings in Belgium. The towers are both 102 metres (335 ft) tall to the roof, and Tower 1 has a spire reaching 134 metres (440 ft) high with a Belgian flag mounted on top. The two towers are linked by a 30 m long glass skyway between the 25th and 26th floors of each building.The towers were originally conceived as part of an eight-building Brussels World Trade Center complex, but were splintered off into a separate project. The construction of the towers began in 1991 and was completed in 1994.

Saint Mary's Royal Church (French: Église Royale Sainte-Marie, Dutch: Koninklijke Sint-Mariakerk) is a Roman Catholic parish church located on the Place de la Reine/Koninginneplein in the Brussels municipality of Schaerbeek, Belgium. Officially dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, it is popularly associated with Queen Louise-Marie, first Queen of the Belgians, as is the square where it is located, which earned it the title of "Royal". This site is served by the Botanique/Kruidtuin metro station on lines 2 and 6 of the Brussels Metro.

KU Leuven Faculty of Architecture (formerly known as the Sint-Lucas School of Architecture) is a Belgian school of architecture established in 1862 with campuses in Brussels and Ghent.

The Northern Quarter (French: Quartier Nord (Espace Nord), Dutch: Noordruimte) is the central business district of Brussels, Belgium. Like La Défense in Paris, the Docklands in London or the Zuidas in Amsterdam, the Northern Quarter consists of a concentrated collection of high-rise buildings where many Belgian and multinational companies have their headquarters. The Northern Quarter roughly covers the area between Willebroek Quay, railways along Brussels-North railway station and the northern side of the Small Ring (Brussels' inner ring road). The territory is thus split between the municipalities of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Schaerbeek and the City of Brussels.The area is characterised by high-rise buildings, most around 100 metres (330 ft) tall. Over half of the twenty tallest buildings in Belgium are located in the Northern Quarter. The area has around 1,200,000 m2 (13,000,000 sq ft) of office space occupied by 40,000 workers. It has an additional 8,000 residents.

The Halles de Schaerbeek is a cultural centre located at 22 rue Royale Sainte-Marie in Schaerbeek, Brussels, in the former Sainte-Marie covered market built in 1865 and destroyed by a fire in 1898.

The World Trade Center of Brussels, Belgium is a complex of skyscrapers at the corner of Albert II Boulevard and Simon Bolivar Boulevard in the Northern Quarter central business district of Brussels. Its three towers are among the tallest buildings in Belgium. The complex was originally planned to have eight towers, all around the corner of Albert II Boulevard and Simon Bolivar Boulevard. The two of these at the southeast corner of the intersection became the Proximus Towers and the two at the northeast the North Galaxy Towers. Of the remaining four, two were built in the 1970s, one was built across the street in the 1980s, and the fourth was never built.In response to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, hundreds of Belgians formed a hand-in-hand human chain around the Trade Center in tribute.

The Rogier Tower (French: Tour Rogier, Dutch: Rogiertoren) is a skyscraper located in the Northern Quarter central business district of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Brussels (Belgium). It owes its name to Charles Rogier Square on which it is situated. It was formerly known as the Dexia Tower after Dexia bank, but that bank fell victim to the 2007–2012 global financial crisis and the tower's name was changed on 1 March 2012. As Dexia moved its offices in Brussels to the Bastion Tower in Ixelles, Belfius and its subsidiaries are the only occupants of this tower, often also called the Belfius Tower. It is the fourth tallest building in Belgium. It is built on the site of the Rogier International Centre (French: Centre International Rogier, Dutch: Internationaal Rogiercentrum), also called the Martini Tower, which was formerly the tallest building in Belgium, but was demolished in 2001. Constructed between 2002 and 2006, the Rogier Tower is 137 metres (449 ft) tall. It was originally planned to be 179 metres (587 ft) tall, but the proposal was rejected because the height was thought to be excessive. The Rogier Tower is also one of the few towers in Brussels whose roof is not horizontal, instead being made up of three inclined sections. It is also one of the only towers in the world to have a fully glass roof.

The Botanical Garden of Brussels (French: Jardin botanique de Bruxelles, Dutch: Kruidtuin van Brussel) stood on the Rue Royale/Koningsstraat in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, near Brussels’ Northern Quarter financial district. The main building is now a cultural complex and music venue known as Le Botanique. It can be accessed from Botanique/Kruidtuin metro station on lines 2 and 6 of the Brussels Metro.

Le Botanique (French) or Kruidtuin (Dutch) is a cultural complex and music venue in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Brussels. The building was previously the main orangery of the National Botanic Garden of Belgium and even as part of the garden had hosted cultural events. In 1958, the National Botanic Garden of Belgium moved to Meise, outside of Brussels. Le Botanique opened in 1984, and the gardens in front are now the Botanical Garden of Brussels.
