North Galaxy Towers

The Proximus Towers (French: Tours Proximus, Dutch: Proximus-torens, known as the Belgacom Towers before the company's name change) are twin skyscrapers on King Albert II Street in the Northern Quarter central business district of Brussels, Belgium. The buildings take their name from the telecommunications company Proximus. They are among the tallest buildings in Belgium. The towers are both 102 metres (335 ft) tall to the roof, and Tower 1 has a spire reaching 134 metres (440 ft) high with a Belgian flag mounted on top. The two towers are linked by a 30 m long glass skyway between the 25th and 26th floors of each building.The towers were originally conceived as part of an eight-building Brussels World Trade Center complex, but were splintered off into a separate project. The construction of the towers began in 1991 and was completed in 1994.

The World Trade Center of Brussels, Belgium is a complex of skyscrapers at the corner of Albert II Boulevard and Simon Bolivar Boulevard in the Northern Quarter central business district of Brussels. Its three towers are among the tallest buildings in Belgium. The complex was originally planned to have eight towers, all around the corner of Albert II Boulevard and Simon Bolivar Boulevard. The two of these at the southeast corner of the intersection became the Proximus Towers and the two at the northeast the North Galaxy Towers. Of the remaining four, two were built in the 1970s, one was built across the street in the 1980s, and the fourth was never built.In response to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, hundreds of Belgians formed a hand-in-hand human chain around the Trade Center in tribute.

Brussels-North railway station (French: Gare de Bruxelles-Nord, Dutch: Station Brussel-Noord), officially Brussels-North (French: Bruxelles-Nord, Dutch: Brussel-Noord), is one of the three major railway stations in Brussels (Belgium); the other two are Brussels-Central and Brussels-South. Every regular domestic and international train (except Thalys and Eurostar) passing there has a planned stop. The station has 200,000 passengers per week, mainly commuters, making it one of the busiest in Belgium. Brussels-North is the end point of the premetro (underground tram) North–South Axis (on lines 3 and 4), and an important node of the Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company (STIB/MIVB), as well as of bus lines of the Flemish transport company De Lijn. More than 30 regional bus lines depart from there, as do international Eurolines coach services. The station is located in the Brussels municipality of Schaerbeek, in the middle of the Northern Quarter business district (also called Little Manhattan), with several corporation headquarters such as Belgacom Towers, Rogier Tower and others, government offices, as well as Flemish ministries. Right next to the station is the Rue d'Aerschot/Aarschotstraat, an area of prostitution "behind windows".

The Northern Quarter (French: Quartier Nord (Espace Nord), Dutch: Noordruimte) is the central business district of Brussels, Belgium. Like La Défense in Paris, the Docklands in London or the Zuidas in Amsterdam, the Northern Quarter consists of a concentrated collection of high-rise buildings where many Belgian and multinational companies have their headquarters. The Northern Quarter roughly covers the area between Willebroek Quay, railways along Brussels-North railway station and the northern side of the Small Ring (Brussels' inner ring road). The territory is thus split between the municipalities of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Schaerbeek and the City of Brussels.The area is characterised by high-rise buildings, most around 100 metres (330 ft) tall. Over half of the twenty tallest buildings in Belgium are located in the Northern Quarter. The area has around 1,200,000 m2 (13,000,000 sq ft) of office space occupied by 40,000 workers. It has an additional 8,000 residents.

The Rue d'Aerschot (French) or Aarschotstraat (Dutch) is a street in the Schaerbeek municipality of Brussels, Belgium. It is known as a hotspot of the city's underground nightlife and famous for its brothels. The street is also known for its inexpensive lodging. The Rue d'Aerschot is close to Brussels' city centre, and is adjacent to the Northern Quarter business district (also called Little Manhattan), where the World Trade Center (WTC) is located. The street is located on the edge of the Turkish Quarter, and next to Brussels-North railway station, one of the city's three main train stations. The station's buildings and tracks occupy the whole western side of the street. The rear entrance of the neoclassical Church of St. John and St. Nicholas is also located on the street.

The Rogier Tower (French: Tour Rogier, Dutch: Rogiertoren) is a skyscraper located in the Northern Quarter central business district of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Brussels (Belgium). It owes its name to Charles Rogier Square on which it is situated. It was formerly known as the Dexia Tower after Dexia bank, but that bank fell victim to the 2007–2012 global financial crisis and the tower's name was changed on 1 March 2012. As Dexia moved its offices in Brussels to the Bastion Tower in Ixelles, Belfius and its subsidiaries are the only occupants of this tower, often also called the Belfius Tower. It is the fourth tallest building in Belgium. It is built on the site of the Rogier International Centre (French: Centre International Rogier, Dutch: Internationaal Rogiercentrum), also called the Martini Tower, which was formerly the tallest building in Belgium, but was demolished in 2001. Constructed between 2002 and 2006, the Rogier Tower is 137 metres (449 ft) tall. It was originally planned to be 179 metres (587 ft) tall, but the proposal was rejected because the height was thought to be excessive. The Rogier Tower is also one of the few towers in Brussels whose roof is not horizontal, instead being made up of three inclined sections. It is also one of the only towers in the world to have a fully glass roof.

The State Security Service (VSSE) (known in Dutch as Staatsveiligheid; French: Sûreté de l'État) is a Belgian intelligence and security agency. Established in 1830, it is the oldest intelligence service except for the Vatican's. The State Security is a civilian agency under the authority of the Ministry of Justice, while the military intelligence agency, the General Information and Security Service, operates under the authority of the Ministry of Defense. The current Administrator-General is Jaak Raes, after his predecessor Alain Winants occupied the position between 2006 and 2014. The VSSE takes part in a number of international intelligence cooperative relationships, such as the Club de Berne and the CTG. It has contacts with over 90 sister services across four continents.

The Place Charles Rogier (French) or Karel Rogierplein (Dutch), usually shortened to the Place Rogier, or Rogier by locals, is a major square in the Brussels municipality of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Belgium. It is named in honour of Charles Rogier (1800–1885), a former Prime Minister of Belgium who played a great political role during the Belgian Revolution of 1830. The square is located on the transition between Brussels' historic city centre (the Pentagon) and the Northern Quarter business district (also called Little Manhattan), an exponent of modern Brussels. It is an important communication node in the city both in terms of road network and public transport. Many hotels, offices and shops adjoin it. The Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat, Belgium's second busiest shopping street, also ends there. It is served by the metro and premetro (underground tram) station Rogier on lines 2, 3, 4 and 6.

Rogier is a Brussels metro station on the northern segment of lines 2 and 6, which also serves tram lines 3 and 4 on the North–South Axis. It is located under the small ring at Charles Rogier Square in the municipality of the Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, north of the City of Brussels (Belgium). The station opened as a premetro (underground tram) station on 18 August 1974 and became a full metro station on 2 October 1988. It was named after the city square above ground, itself named after Charles Rogier, Belgium's 13th Prime Minister.

The Laeken Gate (French: Porte de Laeken; Dutch: Lakensepoort) was one of the medieval city gates of the second walls of Brussels, Belgium.

The Hotel Le Plaza is a five-star luxury hotel in Brussels, Belgium. Built in an Art Deco style with Louis XVI interiors and opened to customers in 1930, it is one of the last independent hotels in Brussels, and also one of the oldest. It has 190 rooms and 14 spacious suites. It has served as a famous meeting place for great statesmen, artists and entertainers. The hotel is located on the Boulevard Adolphe Max/Adolphe Maxlaan, not far from the Place de Brouckère/De Brouckèreplein and the Place Charles Rogier/Karel Rogierplein, as well as Brussels' busiest shopping street; the Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat. This area is served by the metro and premetro (underground tram) stations De Brouckère (on lines 1, 3, 4 and 5) and Rogier (on lines 2, 3, 4 and 6).
