Berlin Heidelberger Platz station

The power station Berlin-Wilmersdorf was a power plant in Berlin-Schmargendorf, which went into service in 1977, and has been shut down in 2021. Construction of the facility, which belongs to the BEWAG, started in 1973. At the time of construction, the three power engines are MS9001B gas turbines, manufactured in Belfort (France) by a cooperation between Alsthom and General Electric. It has three blocks with a power of 110 megawatts, each equipped with a 102-metre-high (335 ft) chimney. This very striking facility received an architectural prize in the 1980s. It is not located nearby a river and therefore must take its cooling water from underground. There was an explosion on January 2, 1992, in one of the blocks. It is run by Vattenfall Europe, a subdivision of Vattenfall.

Wilmersdorf (German pronunciation: [ˈvɪlmɐsdɔʁf] (listen)), an inner-city locality of Berlin, lies south-west of the central city. Formerly a borough by itself, Wilmersdorf became part of the new borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf in Berlin's 2001 administrative reform.

The Friedhof Wilmersdorf is a state-owned cemetery in the Berlin district of Wilmersdorf. It is an avenue district cemetery that has existed since 1885/1886 and has been expanded several times. The current size is 10.12 hectares. The occupied areas A, B, and D are a registered garden monument of the State of Berlin.When the cemetery was expanded to the northwest, a crematorium with extensive columbaria was built in the cemetery from 1919 to 1923. Cremations have not taken place here since 1990, but the mourning hall in the building is still used. The crematorium is a registered monument of the State of Berlin.

Rüdesheimer Platz is a Berlin U-Bahn station located in the Wilmersdorf district on the line. The station opened on 12 October 1913. The eponymous square was named after the town of Rüdesheim am Rhein in Hesse, famous for its Rheingau wines. Wilhelm Leitgebel constructed it like the nearby station Heidelberger Platz and Breitenbachplatz in a very pompous way. Mosaics, many details and granite columns can be found there. It was closed a few months during the war, opened in 1945 and renovated in 1988. Since then, pictures are shown on the walls of the station. In 2005, the platform of the station was renovated again (new color, new floor).

Berlin Mosque (German: Berliner Moschee, Wilmersdorfer Moschee, Ahmadiyya Moschee) in Berlin is situated on Brienner Straße 7-8 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. It was designed by K. A. Hermann and was built between 1923 and 1925. Berlin Mosque, which has two 90 feet (27 m) tall minarets, was heavily damaged in World War II. The two minarets were rebuilt in 1999/2001. The foundation stone was laid on 6 August 1923 and the mosque was inaugurated officially on 26 April 1925.The style of the space is built in Mughal Architectural style, reflecting the great buildings of that time with signature stylings. One such styling is the architects use of onion dome and pastel colors. This makes the building very similar to the tombs of the Mughal Empire. Not only that, but the symmetry seen in the building reflects that of the Taj Mahal. Next to the mosque is the residence of the Imam, the religious head of the mosque. The Imam's residence stands at two stories tall.The mosque is owned and maintained by the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement (Ahmadiyya Anjuman Isha'at-i-Islam Lahore).

The Internationale Begegnungszentrum der Wissenschaft (International Meeting Centre of Science - IBZ Berlin) is a residential building for both international scientists at the Free University of Berlin and the Max Planck Society and fellows of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. It is located at the Wiesbadener Straße in Berlin Wilmersdorf. The IBZ Berlin is a founding member of the Network of the Internationale Begegnungszentren der Wissenschaft, an association of international guesthouses (IBZs) and university-related guesthouses in Germany. The 25 million Marks (roughly 23 million Euros at purchase power parity) used to fund the IBZ, have been generously provided by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the Volkswagen Foundation and the Land Berlin. Between 2010 and 2011 the building was renovated with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. As well as being managed by the Freie Universitat Berlin and the Max Planck Society, the company is also being managed by smaller institutions and individuals. The main aim of the IBZ is to promote the communication of ideas between international scientists and their German colleagues, on both, a scientific, and an artistic level. For this purpose, the association organises numerous lectures, concerts and seminars for residents and guests.

Fehrbelliner Platz is a station of the Berlin U-Bahn located in the Wilmersdorf district on the and the lines. The U3 section was opened on 12 October 1913 as one of the line's original stations, the U7 section on 29 January 1971 with the line's extension from Möckernbrücke. Though the station has then been widely rebuilt including the new entrance hall in a - disputed - 1970s "oil rig" style (the Bohrinsel), the U3 platform is preserved in its original condition. For more than seven years Fehrbelliner Platz was the western terminus of the U7, until its continuation toward Richard-Wagner-Platz on 28 April 1978.The eponymous square is named after Fehrbellin, where in 1675 the Battle of Fehrbellin between Brandenburg-Prussia and the Swedish Empire took place. Its horseshoe shape was laid out in 1934 and is surrounded by several administrative buildings of the Nazi era, including the former seat of the German Labour Front finished in 1943, today the Wilmersdorf town hall. On , the next station is Heidelberger Platz (change here for S-Bahn) or Hohenzollernplatz. On , the next station is Blissestraße or Konstanzer Straße.

Städtischer Friedhof III is a cemetery in the Friedenau district of the borough of Tempelhof-Schöneberg in Berlin, Germany. Buried here are Ferruccio Busoni (1866–1924), Marlene Dietrich (1901–1992) and Helmut Newton (1920–2004).

Blissestraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the . Designed by G. R. Rümmler and opened in 1971, it has a ceiling with cement caskets that reflect the light in an unusual way.

The Burundian Ambassador to Germany is the official representative of the Government of Burundi to the Government of Germany. The Ambassador with residence in Berlin is concurrently accredited to the Holy See.

Preußenpark (Prussian Park), also known as Thai Park or ThaiPark Berlin, is a public park in the Berlin quarter of Wilmersdorf, which belongs to the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. With a size of 55,000 m², the park is one of the smaller parks in Berlin. North of Fehrbelliner Platz, Preußenpark extends between Brandenburgische Straße and Württembergische Straße to Pommersche Straße. The park has several sculpures, including Antilope, created by the sculptor Artur Hoffman in 1926, Borussia, a five metre high sculpture originally created by the sculptor Reinhold Begas in 1855, and Faustkämpfer (Pugilist) created by Eberhard Encke in the 1920s. Since the 1990s, the park has become known as a meeting place for Thais and East Asians who host markets and festivities during the summer months.

The Nelson Mandela School is a public (state-funded) international school in Berlin, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Classes are taught both in German and English. Primary school is from class 1 - 6, secondary school is from class 7 - 12 or 13. After year 10, students take the middle school exams (Mittlerer Schulabschluss), after which the students have the freedom to choose between the German bilingual Abitur or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
