Berryessa/North San José station

The San Jose Flea Market, located in the heart of the Berryessa district of San Jose, California, was founded by George Bumb Sr. in March 1960. He had the idea to open a flea market while working in the solid waste and landfill business. He witnessed abundant items thrown away every day and realized he could make a profit from these discarded items. After visiting swap meets in Los Angeles and Paris’ Thieves Market for inspiration, George Bumb Sr. established the San Jose Flea Market at 1590 Berryessa Road in San Jose, California. He bought 120 acres (49 ha) of an old meat-processing plant and remodeled it to create a market with an initial 20 vendors and only 100 customers per day.

Upper Penitencia Creek is actually one of two creeks by the name Penitencia Creek in the northeastern Santa Clara Valley of Santa Clara County, California. They are both tributaries of Coyote Creek. The upper creek was diverted southwestward, connecting it directly to Coyote Creek ca. 1850 by a farmer to irrigate his fields, permanently splitting Upper Penitencia Creek from Lower Penitencia Creek. Upper Penitencia Creek drains the western slopes of Mount Hamilton of the Diablo Range, and passes through Alum Rock Park, before ending at its confluence with Coyote Creek at Berryessa Road. In December 2018, the San Francisco Estuary Institute published a report commissioned by the Santa Clara Valley Water District to establish a vision for Upper Penitencia Creek's lower four miles focusing on ways "to expand flow conveyance and flood water storage from the Coyote Creek confluence upstream to the Dorel Drive bridge in a manner that works with the existing landscape features and supports habitats for native species".Lower Penitencia Creek flows along the historic Mission Road between Mission Santa Clara and Mission San Jose. It runs through the city of Milpitas before receiving flows from Berryessa Creek, Piedmont Creek, Arroyo de los Coches, Tularcitos Creek and Calera Creek before entering Coyote Creek near Dixon Landing Road at the southern end of San Francisco Bay.

KSJX (1500 AM) is a broadcast radio station licensed to San Jose, California, United States. Owned by Multicultural Broadcasting, the station broadcasts programming in Vietnamese. Founded in 1948 with the call signs KXRX, the station had various music formats in its early decades. The station was locally owned for most of its first 50 years of operation except 1978 to 1991. In the 1970s, KXRX expanded its programming to include news. From 1972 to 1980 and 1987 to 1991, the station was the radio home for San Jose State University sports. After an ownership change, KXRX became KHTT in 1982 and changed its music playlist from middle of the road to current hits. In 1986, KHTT switched to oldies. KSJX has had its current call sign since 1989, when it launched a business news format. In 1992, KSJX began broadcasting in Vietnamese. Multicultural Broadcasting bought KSJX in 1998.

Licensed to San Jose, California, the station serves the San Francisco Bay Area. Since June 2009, KLOK 1170 AM has served the South Asian community. By day, KLOK is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for American AM stations. But at night, to protect other stations on 1170 AM, it reduces power to 9,000 watts. It uses a directional antenna in the daytime, helping it cover most of the Bay Area.

Lower Silver Creek is a 4.7-mile-long (7.6 km) northwest and westward-flowing stream currently originating just north of Lake Cunningham in Evergreen Valley in southeast San Jose, Santa Clara County, California. It is tributary to Coyote Creek, whose waters flow to south San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate is a high school in San Jose, California, part of the KIPP chain. It is in the East Side Union High School District and was founded in 2008. KIPP San Jose Collegiate opened in August 2008. It was founded by Melissa Gonzales, who had been one of the original teachers at KIPP Heartwood Academy, a middle school also in East San Jose. As of the 2016–2017 school year, there were 499 students, of whom 75% were Latino, 22% were Asian/Pacific Islander, and 1% were African American. In the 2015–16 school year, 81% were socio-economically disadvantaged and 7.9% were English learners.The school has achieved high passing percentages on state proficiency tests, including in 2015, when many other charter schools' performance on the tests declined. In 2015 it appeared in the top 2% in a Washington Post ranking of high schools by willingness to challenge students by administering upper-level tests. In 2017 it was ranked 23rd in the US by U.S. News & World Report.KIPP San Jose Collegiate's sports teams are the Wolfpack.

Independence High School, also referred to as IHS, is a public high school located in the Berryessa district of San Jose, California, United States. The school is operated by the East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD). Its namesake is the United States Declaration of Independence, which celebrated its bicentennial in the same year Independence High was established in 1976. Independence is considered a magnet school, with three specialized programs, called "academies": electronics, finance, and teaching. Later magnet programs were extended into the performing arts and space technology, which were cut in 2009 due to budget constraints.Independence students are called "sixers" and their mascots are named "Sammy the Sixer," who is an interpretation of an American Founding Father, George Washington, and "Amerigo the Eagle," who is a Bald Eagle, America's national bird.

KLIV (1590 AM) is a broadcast radio station in the United States. Licensed to San Jose, California, KLIV serves San Jose and the Santa Clara Valley with a Vietnamese format simulcasting KVVN. It is one of the last independently owned stations in the Bay Area. KLIV began broadcasting in 1946 as KSJO before becoming KLIV in 1960. The station had a top-40 format in the 1960s and changed to big band in 1981. From 1991 to 2016, KLIV had a news format before changing to classic country. In 2019, KLIV was shut down after the transmitter site was sold. The station resumed broadcasting in 2020 and was sold to Pham Radio Communication, ending over 50 years of ownership by Empire Broadcasting. KLIV had been the flagship station for San Jose State University sports from 1991 to 2019, in addition to broadcasting Santa Clara University men's basketball games during the 2010s. KLIV was the flagship station for the San Jose Clash (later Earthquakes) from 1996 to 2016.

Luna Park is a neighborhood in San Jose, California. It is bounded by Old Oakland Road/13th Street, Berryessa Road/Highway 101 and North 17th Street.It is named after the Luna Park amusement park built by Audley Ingersoll's of Ingersoll's Amusement and financed by the San Jose Street Car Company as a way of bringing more customers to the area. Luna Park was located on San Jose's Oakland Road, now named North 13th Street and contained an amusement park, baseball stadium and public park from the early 1907 until 1921.It was later redeveloped into a city park and residential neighborhood that still bears the name Luna Park.

Holy Cross Church is a Catholic church in the Northside neighborhood of San Jose, California, United States, that serves the Holy Cross Parish of the Diocese of San Jose. The parish is staffed by the Missionaries of St. Charles Borromeo (Scalabrinians). Holy Cross does not have a parochial school, though it hosts Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) programs for students of public schools.The parish serves a multiethnic congregation and is considered a mainstay of the local Italian-American community. Masses are said in English, Spanish, and Italian.
