Kerry is an unincorporated community in Columbia County, Oregon, United States, located about 30 miles east of Astoria. It was founded to extend the Columbia & Nehalem River Railroad and named in 1912 by lumberman Albert S. Kerry. In the 1920s it had about 200 inhabitants. Its post office opened in 1917 and closed in 1938.

Marshland, formerly known as Skunk Cabbage Flat, is an unincorporated community in Columbia County, Oregon, United States. It was settled by Z.B. Bryant in 1862. Its post office was established around 1873. It closed in 1960.

Westport is an unincorporated community and census-designated place on the Columbia River in Clatsop County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 321.Westport is connected to Cathlamet, Washington, across the river via the Wahkiakum County ferry to Puget Island. U.S. Route 30 passes through the community, connecting it to Astoria to the west and Clatskanie to the east.Westport is named after "Captain" John West, a millwright and lumberman who settled in the area in the early 1850s. West was a native of Scotland, emigrated to Canada as a young man where he worked in a sawmill on the St. Lawrence River and then came to Oregon via California during the gold rush of 1849. West ran a sawmill and a salmon cannery in the community. The Westport post office was established in 1863 with West was its first postmaster.

The Wahkiakum County ferry crosses the lower Columbia River between the U.S. states of Washington and Oregon, and is the last regularly scheduled car ferry to cross the Columbia River between the two states. The ferry is located at the terminus of State Route 409, it departs from Puget Island, Washington, which the Julia Butler Hansen Bridge links to the mainland. SR 409 is a spur from State Route 4, and the ferry thus connects that highway to U.S. Route 30 in Oregon. Its status as an extension of SR 409 is why the state of Washington since 1969 has provided financial support for operation of the ferry.As of May 2019, the ferry runs hourly (on the hour from the Washington side and 15 minutes after the hour from the Oregon side) from 5 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. 365 days a year. Lunch time service is sometimes interrupted.

Puget Island is a 7.5 sq mi(4,785 acre; 19.365 km2) island and Census-designated place (CDP) in the Columbia River in Wahkiakum County, Washington, United States. The island was named for Peter Puget, a lieutenant in the Vancouver Expedition of exploration, which first mapped the island in 1792.The Julia Butler Hansen Bridge (built in 1938) carries State Route 409 across the Cathlamet Channel to connect the island to the town of Cathlamet, Washington. Route 409 crosses the island to its southern shore, where it connects with the county-operated Wahkiakum County Ferry, Oscar B, providing service to Westport, Oregon. The 2010 census reported a population of 831 persons. Puget Island's Robert W. Little Preserve is home to a population of endangered Columbian white-tailed deer.

East Cathlamet is a census-designated place (CDP) in Wahkiakum County, Washington, on the eastern border of the town of Cathlamet. The population was 491 as of the 2010 census. The East Cathlamet community is part of the Wahkiakum School District, a K-12 school district of about 430 students. The name "Kathlamet" (Cathlamet) comes from the Kathlamet tribe, which in their language, means "rocky shore."

Wauna is an unincorporated community on the Columbia River in Clatsop County, Oregon, United States. According to Oregon Geographic Names, it names a Native American mythological being associated with the Columbia River. There was a post office in Wauna from January 21, 1911, to circa 1980. Wauna is best known as the home of a Georgia-Pacific paper mill.

The Julia Butler Hansen Bridge in Wahkiakum County, in the U.S. state of Washington, connects Cathlamet to Puget Island. It spans the Cathlamet Channel of the Columbia River. The Wahkiakum County Ferry connects Puget Island to Westport, Oregon. The bridge was named after former United States Congresswoman Julia Butler Hansen, who represented Washington from 1960 to 1974.

The Clatskanie River is a tributary of the Columbia River, approximately 25 miles (40 km) long, in northwestern Oregon in the United States. It drains a timber-producing area in the foothills of the Northern Oregon Coast Range north-northwest of Portland. It rises in eastern Columbia County, approximately 10 miles (16 km) west of St. Helens on the northern slopes of Bunker Hill. Major tributaries include Carcus Creek and the North Fork of the Clatskanie, which converge at Swedetown. The North Fork rises at Apiary. It flows generally north-northwest through the Clatsop State Forest, past Clatskanie. The Clatskanie River converges with Conyers Creek and Beaver Creek near Clatskanie and then it enters a slough on the Columbia from the south approximately 5 miles (8 km) east of Westport. The river is named for the Tlatskanai, an Athabascan tribe of Native Americans who lived in the valley of the nearby Nehalem River at the time of the arrival of Europeans in the early 19th century. There is also a Klaskanine River in Clatsop County which was really named for the same reason. The names as used by the natives did not apply to the respective rivers, but applied to the path, route or trail by which one could get to the customary tribal area of the Tlatskanai.

Pioneer Church, also known as the Congregational Church, is a historic church in Cathlamet, Washington. It was built in 1895 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The building is currently used by the Pioneer Community Association.

Cathlamet is a town located along the Ocean Beach Highway in Wahkiakum County, Washington, United States, where it is the county seat. The population was 532 at the 2010 census, though there is an additional rural population outside of the town limits.
