Victoria Terrasse

The Oslo Mosquito raid (25 September 1942) was a British air raid on Oslo, Norway, during the Second World War. The target of the raid was the Victoria Terrasse building, the headquarters of the Gestapo. It was intended to be a "morale booster" for the Norwegian people and was scheduled to coincide with a rally of Norwegian collaborators, led by Vidkun Quisling. The raid is also known for it being the moment when the Royal Air Force revealed the existence of the Mosquito aircraft to the British public, when the BBC Home Service reported on the raid the following day.

The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Norwegian (Bokmål): Det kongelige utenriksdepartement; Norwegian (Nynorsk): Det kongelege utanriksdepartement) is the foreign ministry of the Kingdom of Norway. It was established on June 7, 1905, the same day the Parliament of Norway (Stortinget) decided to dissolve the personal union with Sweden. The ministry is headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, currently Anniken Huitfeldt, who is a minister in the Støre cabinet that has governed since 14 October 2021. The ministry also has a Minister of International Development. This position was established by the Willoch cabinet in 1983, and existed until October 2013 when it was abolished by the Solberg's Cabinet and the foreign minister became the sole head of the ministry. The position of Minister of International Development was restored on January 17, 2018, when the Liberal party joined the Solberg government. The current Minister of International Development is Anne Beathe Tvinnereim from the Centre Party.

The Stenersen Museum (Norwegian: Stenersenmuseet) is a Museum of Fine Arts located in Oslo, Norway.Stenersen Museum opened in 1994. It principally features exhibitions of contemporary art. The museum art exhibited originated with three private art collections which were donated to the city.In 1933, the family of Amaldus Nielsen donated an art collection to the City of Oslo. In 1936, the prominent financier and author Rolf E. Stenersen donated his collection of Norwegian art to the Municipality of Aker, which was later merged with the City of Oslo. In 1972, the Ravensberg collection was donated to the City of Oslo by the widow of artist Ludvig O. Ravensberg (1871–1958).In 2008, plans were finalized for the Stenersen Museum to relocate to Bjørvika and occupy a new building near the Oslo Opera House together with the Munch Museum.

7. juni-plassen ('The 7 June Square') is a square in Oslo, Norway. It is located at Ruseløkka in Vika, southwest of Slottsparken and the Royal Palace and west of the National Theatre.It was originally named Triangelplassen ('The Triangle Square'), but was renamed in 1962 after 7 June 1905, the day when the Union between Sweden and Norway was declared dissolved by the Norwegian government. In the southern end of the square is found the entrance to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the square is the famous statue of King Haakon VII of Norway—who returned to the country on 7 June 1945 from his exile imposed due to the 1940–1945 German occupation of Norway—sculpted by Nils Aas.The Skøyen Line passes north of the square, and it is within walking distance of Nationaltheatret Station. Directly below it, underground, is Nationaltheatret Railway Station. VM-paviljongen was placed on this square before and during the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011.

Oslo Concert Hall (Oslo Konserthus) is a concert hall located in Vika, a part of Oslo city centre in Norway. It is the base of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra (Oslo-Filharmonien), but it also aims to be one of the premier music venues for the general musical and cultural life of Norway, offering a broad variety of musical styles from classical, world music, and popular entertainment by both Norwegian and international artists and groups. It presents more than 300 events yearly and receives more than 200,000 visitors.

The Ibsen Museum (Ibsenmuseet) occupies the last home of the playwright Henrik Ibsen. It is located close to the Royal Palace on Henrik Ibsens gate in Oslo, Norway. The museum in Oslo is closed. According to the website, it will reopen in 2021.

Slottsplassen ('The Palace Square') is a square in Oslo, Norway. The square is located in front of the Royal Palace, and was designed by Hans Linstow together with the Palace and the Royal Palace Park. Its most prominent feature is the statue of Charles John of Norway and Sweden, sculpted by Brynjulf Bergslien and erected in 1875. The street Karl Johans gate starts at the square, turning southeast towards Jernbanetorget via Egertorget.

The Royal Palace (Norwegian: Slottet or Det kongelige slott) in Oslo was built in the first half of the 19th century as the Norwegian residence of the French-born King Charles III John, who reigned as king of Norway and Sweden. The palace is the official residence of the current Norwegian monarch while the Crown Prince resides at Skaugum in Asker west of Oslo. The palace is located at the end of Karl Johans gate in central Oslo and is surrounded by the Palace Park with the Palace Square in the front.

Slottskapellet (The Royal Palace Chapel) is a chapel in the Royal Palace in Oslo, Norway. It is the scene of many events of the Norwegian Royal Family like the royal baptisms and confirmations, in addition to church concerts and chamber music concerts. Slottskapellet is used for worships for students as well, a tradition of more than a hundred years of history.The palace architect Linstow designed the nave and choir in Berlin in 1837. The Royal Chapel has side aisles with galleries supported by six pillars on either side. The pillars, galleries and roof are made of wood. The richly decorated ceiling was painted by Peder Wergmann in 1843.The dados along the side aisles feature plaster reliefs of the four evangelists by the sculptor Hans Michelsen. The wall behind the altar with a gilded cross in the middle is made of pink stucco marble and the church organ is located in the gallery above. Olav Glosimodt has created the marble figures showing the apostles Peter and Paul. The pulpit is white and gold.The Royal Chapel was restored in 2004. Slottskapellet is a part of The Royal Palace's guided tour program in the summer.

Oslo West Station (Norwegian: Oslo Vestbanestasjon) or Oslo V, is a former railway station located in Vika in Oslo, Norway. It was the terminus of the Drammen Line between 1872 and 1980, until the Oslo Tunnel opened. The station remained in use until 1989, when all traffic was moved to the new Oslo Central Station. Until its closure it was the main station for trains on the Sørland Line, the Drammen Line and the Vestfold Line. There was no passenger rail connection to Oslo Ø, the eastern station that served the eastern lines and trains to Bergen. The only connection was the Oslo Port Line that went partially through some of the most trafficked streets in Oslo. The station building was designed by architect Georg Andreas Bull in the then-fashionable Italiante style and built of plastered brickwork. The facade against City Hall Square is flanked by two low towers. Windows and doors are arched. After the station closed, the building was used by, among others, the Nobel Peace Center. On 13 April 1921, the restaurant was taken over by Norsk Spisevognselskap, after it had received a renovation, which was completed on 1 May. In 1922, the company and Narvesen opened two kiosks at the station. After the station was partially destroyed on 2 February 1942, it remained closed until 1 June.

The Nobel Peace Center (Norwegian: Nobels Fredssenter) in Oslo, Norway is a showcase for the Nobel Peace Prize and the ideals it represents. The center is also an arena where culture and politics merge to promote involvement, debate and reflection around topics such as war, peace and conflict resolution. The center is located in Oslo, Norway at the City Hall Square (Rådhusplassen).
