The Federal Correctional Institution, Memphis (FCI Memphis) is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates located in Memphis, Tennessee. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. It also includes a satellite prison camp for minimum-security male offenders.

Shelby County is the westernmost county in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, the population was 929,744. WYXR (91.7 FM) is an eclectic, non-profit community radio station headquartered in the historic Crosstown Concourse building in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The station is owned by Crosstown Radio Partnership, Inc. and is a collaboration between Crosstown Concourse, the Daily Memphian and the University of Memphis. The WYXR air room is located in the Central Atrium of Crosstown Concourse, where passersby can view inside the studio as shows are broadcast live. It officially started broadcasting on Monday, October 5, 2020.

Anshei Sphard Beth El Emeth Congregation, abbreviated as ASBEE, was an Modern Orthodox synagogue located at 120 North East Yates Road, in East Memphis, Tennessee, in the United States. Established in 1966, with a history dating from 1861, the congregation operated for over 160 years prior to its 2023 merger with the Baron Hirsch Congregation. As of 2023, ASBEE is a charity fund the supports maintenance of its cemetery and other charitable causes.

The school is located in the Diocese of Memphis and follows Catholic principles but is not run by the diocese. It was founded by Dominican sisters.

Saint Joseph Hospital was a Catholic operated hospital located at 220 Overton Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. It is most well known for being the hospital where Martin Luther King Jr. died at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 1968, an hour after he was shot at Lorraine Motel.Erected in 1885 and operated by the Sisters of St. Francis, St. Joseph's later became a Medical Center with 1,212 beds. In 1997 the hospital merged with Baptist Memorial Health Care. The property and buildings were then sold to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The buildings, except for a recently built emergency room annex which St. Jude converted into a Translational Trials Unit, were subsequently demolished to make room for an expansion. The merger between St. Joseph's and Baptist Memorial Health Care was completed in 1998 and the last patients were transferred to Baptist on November 17, 2000.
