C.S. Porter School also known as Porter Middle School, is a public middle school located in Missoula, Montana. The school is a part of Missoula County Public Schools, and is one of three public middle schools in the city of Missoula. Originally serving grades 5–8, the school now serves only grades 6–8.

Big Sky High School is an American public high school in Missoula, Montana, United States, opened in 1980. The school made Missoula the first city in Montana to have four secondary schools. It is a part of the Missoula County Public Schools.

Fort Missoula was established by the United States Army in 1877 on land that is now part of the city of Missoula, Montana, to protect settlers in Western Montana from possible threats from the Native American Indians, such as the Nez Perce.Beginning in 1888, the fort was home to the famous Buffalo Soldiers of the 25th Infantry Regiment (3rd Formation). While stationed at Fort Missoula, this unit tested the practicality of soldiers traveling by bicycles by conducting numerous training rides, with one ride all the way to St. Louis, Missouri. The Trans-America Bicycle Trail established in 1976 goes through Missoula, and covers some of the routes pedaled by the 25th Regiment. During World War II, Fort Missoula housed an internment camp for Italian detainees, who called the area Bella Vista, and Japanese Americans arrested as "enemy aliens" after Pearl Harbor.

Fort Missoula Internment Camp was an internment camp operated by the United States Department of Justice during World War II. Japanese Americans and Italian Americans were imprisoned here during this war.

Valley Christian School is a private Christian school located in Missoula, Montana. Valley Christian is part of the Montana High School Association. Both girl and boy teams are named the Eagles. Valley Christian School is accredited with the Montana Office of Public Instruction.

Orchard Homes is a census-designated place (CDP) in Missoula County, Montana, United States. It is part of the Missoula Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,377 at the 2020 census.

Lindborg-Cregg Memorial Field is a baseball park in the Western United States, located in Missoula, Montana. With a seating capacity of 2,200 people, it is the home of the Missoula Mavericks, an American Legion team. It was also home to the minor league Missoula Osprey for five seasons, prior to the opening of Ogren Park at Allegiance Field in 2004.The natural grass field is aligned southwest (home plate to second base) at an approximate elevation of 3,150 feet (960 m) above sea level.

Southgate Mall is a shopping mall located in Missoula, Montana. The shopping center originally opened in August 1978 with Hart-Albin, Hennessy's, Nordstrom Place Two and Sears as anchor stores. Today, the mall is anchored by AMC Theatres, two Dillard's stores, and Scheels All Sports. An adjacent strip mall is anchored by Bed Bath & Beyond, Bob Ward's and Cost Plus World Market. Southgate Mall is recognized as the largest enclosed shopping area in the region of Western Montana.

The Glacier Ice Rink is a two-sheet ice arena located in Missoula, Montana, on the Missoula County Fairgrounds. The rink and its programs are operated by the Missoula Area Youth Hockey Association (MAYHA), a non-profit organization. The rink is open 10 months a year and offers youth and adult hockey leagues, hockey tournaments, and public skating sessions. Glacier Ice Rink is also home to the Missoula Figure Skating Club, the Missoula Curling Club, the Missoula Referees Association, the Women's Hockey Association of Missoula (WHAM) and the University of Montana men's hockey team. The ice is removed each summer for the Western Montana Fair.

KGVO (1290 kHz) is an AM radio station licensed to serve Missoula, Montana. The station is owned by Townsquare Media. It airs a news/talk format. The station was assigned the KGVO call letters by the Federal Radio Commission on March 17, 1931. On May 6, 1932, the FRC authorized KGVO to move from 1420 kHz to 1200 kHz and to change to unlimited operation rather than its previous 10 a.m.-6 p.m. schedule. At that time, KGVO had 100 watts power. KGVO has been the flagship station of Montana Grizzlies football and men's basketball for decades; it frequently brands itself as "Home of the Grizzlies." Until 2017, KGVO simulcast on KGVO-FM at 101.5 FM, which was used to fill in the gaps when the AM station adjusted its coverage at night. However, on February 2, 2017, KGVO-FM broke off to air an alternative rock format as KAMM-FM. KGVO then began simulcasting on a low-powered translator at 98.3 FM, and Hamilton's KLYQ began simulcasting KGVO.

Missoula College is the junior college of the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. The college was founded in 1956 and became part of the University of Montana in 1994. It offers 35 programs including career, transfer, and technical programs. The five academic departments include the Department of Applied Computing and Electronics, Department of Industrial Technology, Department of Applied Arts and Sciences, Department of Business Technology, and Department of Health Professions. The college also provides workforce development for the region as well as dual credit courses for hundreds of high school students in the area, and works to support adults seeking new career opportunities or professional development. During the Fall 2010 semester, 2,444 students were enrolled at Missoula College.

Sentinel High School is a four-year public high school in the western United States, located in Missoula, Montana. In the Missoula County Public Schools District No. 1., Sentinel has approximately 1,300 students, and a faculty of approximately 100. Sentinel was ranked sixth-best high school in the state of Montana, two spots behind the district's Hellgate. Big Sky and Seeley-Swan were unranked.
