New Beginnings is a bronze sculpture by Larry Anderson, installed Tacoma, Washington's Union Station, in the United States.

The Washington State History Museum is a history museum located in downtown Tacoma, Washington, United States. It is operated by the Washington State Historical Society under the official approval of the Washington State Legislature. The museum opened on August 10, 1996, at a building adjacent to historic Union Station that cost $42 million to construct.The museum maintains three permanent exhibits. One is about the history of Washington state and its relation to the Pacific Northwest, featuring artifacts from women's suffrage, industrialization, Native American tribes and items such as Clovis points. The uppermost floor of the museum contains the History Lab, where visitors can explore and learn about history in a more hands-on fashion with multiple interactive exhibits. The top floor is also home to the state's largest permanent model train layout, which covers 1,700 sq ft (160 m2) and recreates scenes from Tacoma's Union Station (which is located next to the museum) and other regional railroads. The museum hosts an annual Model Train Festival in December.

The Bridge of Glass is a 500-foot (150 m) pedestrian partially-covered footbridge spanning Interstate 705 in Tacoma, Washington. It was opened in 2002 as a gift to the city. The Bridge of Glass connects the Museum of Glass on the Thea Foss Waterway to the downtown and attractions along Pacific Avenue such as Union Station, Washington State History Museum, and Tacoma Art Museum. Together, these attractions make up an area of Tacoma described as "Museum Row." The Bridge of Glass was designed by Texas architect Arthur Andersson and is decorated with artworks by Dale Chihuly. Chihuly has described the Bridge of Glass as "the gateway that welcomes people to Tacoma." It is accessible and free to the public 24 hours a day, lighting up during the nighttime.

Union Station/South 19th Street station is a light rail station on Link light rail's T Line in Tacoma, Washington, United States. The station officially opened for service on August 22, 2003, and serves the University of Washington, Tacoma, a variety of museums, government buildings, and apartment complexes.The station is named after the nearby and much larger Tacoma Union Station, which now serves as a courthouse. It is located near the University of Washington, Tacoma campus, Museum of Glass, Washington State History Museum, and Tacoma Art Museum. Union Station also serves as the main entryway to the Tall Ships Festival on the nearby Thea Foss Waterway.Artwork at the station reflects the area's American Indian culture, and the manufacturing and shipbuilding that took place in the vicinity (including in many of the buildings used by UW Tacoma). The Tacoma Art Museum (TAM) is an art museum in Tacoma, Washington, United States. It focuses primarily on the art and artists from the Pacific Northwest and broader western region of the U.S. Founded in 1935, the museum has strong roots in the community and anchors the university and museum district in downtown Tacoma.

The University of Washington Tacoma (UW Tacoma) is a campus of University of Washington in Tacoma, Washington. The UW Tacoma campus opened in leased space in 1990 and opened its permanent campus in 1997.

Stone Wave occupies the central courtyard of Tacoma, Washington's Tacoma Art Museum and is a major public work by sculptor Richard Rhodes of Seattle, Washington. Completed in May, 2003, the wave is constructed using 650 unique pieces of antique Chinese granite laid on a substrate of closed-cell foam and mortar. At once echoing the surging of waves and the volcanic core of Mount Rainier, the sculpture presents a zone of visual serenity among the museum's galleries.

Shipment to China is an abstract sculpture by Hai Ying Wu, installed in Tacoma, Washington's Prairie Line Trail, in the United States. It has 100 bronze boxes on a 1909 train car. According to Wu, the work "shows the bitterness of the Chinese experience in America during that time, for the railroad built by their efforts was the same transportation used to carry them out of Tacoma".According to the Prairie Line Trail's website, the sculpture was donated by the Chinese Reconciliation Project Foundation, restored and installed by the City of Tacoma, and funded by the Washington State Heritage Capital Projects Fund.

Don Pugnetti Park is a 0.5-acre (0.20 ha) public park in Tacoma, Washington, in the United States. Located at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and South 21st Street in downtown Tacoma, the park is named after Donald A. Pugnetti and is owned by the Washington State Department of Transportation. It has landscaping and seating, and is maintained by the City of Tacoma.The park has been the site of an Occupy Wall Street encampment (2011 to 2012) and other demonstrations. In 2020, protesters gathered there to protest the murder of George Floyd.

The Museum of Glass (MOG) is a 75,000-square-foot (7,000 m2) contemporary art museum in Tacoma, Washington, dedicated to the medium of glass. Since its founding in 2002, the Museum of Glass has been committed to creating a space for the celebration of the studio glass movement through nurturing artists, implementing education, and encouraging creativity.

The Albers Brothers Mill is a historic mill and contemporary apartment building located in Tacoma, Washington, United States. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The structure is owned by the Foss Waterway Development Authority. The period of significance is revised to read: 1905-1929 The Albers Brothers Mill Building, located at 1821 Dock Street, is the only remaining remnant of the working waterfront on the western shore of the Thea Foss Waterway. With the entrance of viable railroad lines into the Puget Sound basin, trade and commerce with Asia and the Pacific Rim ports shifted northward. Albers Brothers Milling Company’s move from Portland, reflects this change. The company started in Portland and became a primary company in the grain industry with its mills in Tacoma, Seattle and Bellingham on Puget Sound. The Albers Milling Company’s headquarters moved to Tacoma to support its Washington operations.
