Rocklea, Queensland

The (M7/A7) in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, is a major urban road corridor. It extends from the M2/M7 Ipswich Motorway/Logan Motorway junction at Gailes via Ipswich Road at Woolloongabba, Clem Jones Tunnel and Airport Link to the junction with Southern Cross Way which links with the Gateway Motorway. The full route, completed in 2012, comprise: (M7) Ipswich Motorway from Gailes to Rocklea (A7) Ipswich Road from Rocklea to Woolloongabba (M7) Clem Jones Tunnel (Clem7) from Woolloongabba to Bowen Hills (M7) Airport Link tunnel from Bowen Hills to Toombul (M7) East West Arterial Road from Toombul to Hendra.

Rocklea railway station is located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Rocklea. The station opened in 1885 at the same time as the line.To the west of the station lies the NSW North Coast dual gauge line primarily used by Gold Coast, NSW TrainLink XPT and freight services.In 1996, as part of the construction of the Gold Coast line, the standard gauge line was converted to dual gauge.In 2022, construction began on the station upgrade as part of the Cross River Rail project, with platforms raised and lifts added to platforms and the carpark entry via Brooke Street. The dual gauge track will also be provided with a platform.

The Shire of Yeerongpilly was a local government area in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland. The shire, administered from Rocklea, covered an area of 175 square miles (453 km2), and existed as a local government entity from 1879 until 1925, when it was split up following the creation of the City of Brisbane under the City of Brisbane Act 1924.

Nyanda railway station was located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia between Rocklea and Salisbury stations. It opened in 1885 as Nyanda Crossing and was positioned so one person could manage the station and attend to the Beaudesert Road level crossing. It became an unnamed stopping place for workers at the adjacent Evans Deakin and Company factory in 1940 and was renamed Nyanda in 1951.In 1976, an overpass was constructed over the station.Most platforms south of the Brisbane River were progressively lengthened in the late 1970s to accommodate SX sets and the new Electric Multiple Unit trains. The existing platform used up all the available space between Beaudesert Road and industrial sidings at the north end of the station and there was no room to extend it. As a result, the station closed in 1978 when the Merivale Bridge opened.

Archerfield Airport is a leased federal airport located in Archerfield, 11–12 km (6.8–7.5 mi) to the south of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. For some time it was the primary airport in Brisbane, it is now the secondary airport. During World War II it was used as a Royal Australian Air Force station. Airport traffic peaked in the 1980s. In December 2010, a development plan was released for public comment which included a new parallel runway.

No. 2 Elementary Flying Training School (No. 2 EFTS) was a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) pilot training unit that operated during World War II. It was one of twelve elementary flying training schools employed by the RAAF to provide introductory flight instruction to new pilots as part of Australia's contribution to the Empire Air Training Scheme. No. 2 EFTS was established in November 1939 as No. 3 Flying Training School at Archerfield, Queensland, and partially utilised aircraft and facilities of the civilian air training organisations based there. The school was renamed No. 2 EFTS in January 1940. It was disbanded in March 1942, and its operations transferred to No. 5 Elementary Flying School at Narromine, New South Wales, and No. 11 Elementary Flying School at Benalla, Victoria.
