New England Air Museum

The Yankee Terminal Radar Approach Control (Yankee TRACON, (FAA LID: Y90)) is a terminal air traffic control center located in Windsor Locks, Connecticut operated by the United States Federal Aviation Administration. Located at the Bradley International Airport (BDL), Yankee TRACON is a consolidated TRACON responsible for the airspace roughly in a 40-mile radius around BDL at or below 10,000 feet. This airspace includes airports such as Hartford-Brainard Airport (HFD), Meriden Markham Municipal Airport (MMK), Barnes Municipal Airport (BAF), Westover Metropolitan Airport (CEF), Worcester Regional Airport (ORH), Windham Airport (IJD), Northampton Airport (7B2), Skylark Airpark (7B6), Ellington Airport (7B9), Robertson Field (4B8), and Simsbury Airport (4B9).Yankee TRACON has five operating radar positions and is staffed with about 31 controllers and three Front Line Managers (supervisors). During calendar year 2008, Yankee TRACON worked 245,000 IFR operations.

Bradley International Airport (IATA: BDL, ICAO: KBDL, FAA LID: BDL) is a public international airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, United States. Owned and operated by the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA), it is the second-largest airport in New England.The airport is about halfway between Hartford, Connecticut, and Springfield, Massachusetts. It is the state of Connecticut's busiest commercial airport and the second-busiest airport in New England after Boston's Logan International Airport, with over 6.75 million passengers in 2019. The four largest carriers at Bradley International Airport are Southwest, Delta, JetBlue, and American with market shares of 29%, 19%, 15%, and 14%, respectively. As a dual-use military facility with the U.S. Air Force, the airport is home to the 103rd Airlift Wing (103 AW) of the Connecticut Air National Guard. Bradley was originally branded as the "Gateway to New England" and is home to the New England Air Museum. In 2016, Bradley International launched its new brand, "Love the Journey". In 2019, Bradley was the 55th-busiest commercial airport in the United States, by passengers enplaned.The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021 categorized it as a medium-hub primary commercial service facility.The former discount department store chain Bradlees was named after the airport as many of the early planning meetings were held there.

On October 2, 2019, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress owned by the Collings Foundation crashed at Bradley International Airport, Windsor Locks, Connecticut, United States. Seven of the thirteen people on board were killed, and the other six, as well as one person on the ground, were injured. The aircraft was destroyed by fire, with only the tail and a portion of one wing remaining.

The Lewis-Zukowski House is a historic house at 1095 South Grand Street in Suffield, Connecticut. Built in 1781, it is rare in the town as an 18th-century residence built out of brick, accompanied by a mid-19th century barn. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Benomi Case House is a historic house at 436 Rainbow Road in Windsor, Connecticut. Built in 1834, it is one of the town's finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in brick. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The East Granby Historic District encompasses a predominantly rural and agricultural area of the town of East Granby, Connecticut. Extending northward from the town center and covering some two square miles, it includes one of the state's highest concentrations of surviving 18th and early 19th-century farmsteads, and a relatively little-altered landscape. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Suffield is a town in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. The town is part of the Capitol Planning Region, and located in the Connecticut River Valley. As of the 2020 census, the population was 15,752. The town center is a census-designated place listed as Suffield Depot. Bordering Massachusetts, Suffield is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts NECTA. It was once within the boundaries of Massachusetts.

East Granby High School is a public high school located in East Granby, Connecticut. The school has a grade range of 9–12. The total enrollment currently stands at 241. East Granby High School is the smallest public high school in Connecticut. The East Granby school district is located in north central Connecticut in close proximity to Bradley International Airport. East Granby provides a comprehensive education to 900 students in four distinctive school settings. Classified by the Connecticut State Department of Education as a town in Demographic Reference Group "D", East Granby performs well on state assessments at all levels. Demographic Reference Groups, or DRGs, are groups of districts with similarities in student and family background characteristics. Placement in one of the nine DRGs is based on indicators of socioeconomic status, indicators of need and enrollment. The building is connected to East Granby Middle School, and some of the teachers and classrooms are shared.

Northwest Park is a municipally owned park in the town of Windsor, Connecticut, which includes walking trails, soccer fields and a nature center. Located in the Poquonock section of Windsor along the Farmington River, the park covers 473 acres (1.91 km2) of forests, fields and recreational areas. The Luddy/Taylor Connecticut Valley Tobacco Museum, dedicated to preserving the history of the tobacco industry in the lower Connecticut River valley, is located near the entrance of the park. The Northwest Park Nature Center features natural history, geology and meteorology exhibits, and offers nature and environmental education programs including a summer camp. There is an adjacent barn with farmyard animals.The park hosts an annual Coffeehouse Concert Series, bringing in a variety of regional and national acts to perform in an intimate setting. Additionally, a country fair annually takes place in the fall at the park. Other park amenities are trails for hiking, cross-country and skiing, a maple sugar house, a playground, picnic facilities, and a gift shop in the nature center.

The Suffield Public Schools system is a school district based in Suffield, Connecticut in the United States of America. It includes A. Ward Spaulding Elementary School, McAlister Intermediate School, Suffield Middle School, and Suffield High School. It is known for the high school's agricultural science program, which draws students from the surrounding area.

Suffield Depot is the name of a census-designated place (CDP) corresponding to the village of Suffield, the primary settlement of the town of Suffield, Connecticut, in Hartford County. The population of the CDP was 1,325 as of the 2010 census.

The Alexander King House is a historic house at 232 South Main Street in Suffield, Connecticut. Built in 1764, the house interior contains one of the state's finest collections of 18th-century Georgian woodwork. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It is now a historic house museum operated by the Suffield Historical Society.
