The Mortimer War Memorial is a monument that commemorates the lives of soldiers from Stratfield Mortimer, Berkshire, England, who were killed in war.

Mortimer Common, generally referred to as Mortimer, is a village in the civil parish of Stratfield Mortimer in Berkshire. Mortimer is in the local government district of West Berkshire and is seven miles south-west of Reading.

Mortimer railway station is a railway station in the village of Stratfield Mortimer in the county of Berkshire in England. It is 43 miles 14 chains (69.5 km) from London Paddington. The station is notable for its well-preserved Brunel-designed Great Western Railway (GWR) station buildings, which are still in use. The station is served by local services operated by Great Western Railway. The station is on the double-track Reading to Basingstoke Line, and comprises two side platforms linked by a footbridge. Road access is to the north of the station, next to the up (Reading-bound) platform.The brick-built single-storey main building has a ticket office and waiting room and is on the up platform. The down platform has a matching waiting shelter. Both buildings are Italianate, designed by Brunel for the GWR. They are the only substantially intact survivors of this once-common design, although a much modified example exists at Chepstow. The buildings are listed Grade II*.

The Roman road from Silchester to Bath connected Calleva Atrebatum (Silchester) with Aquae Sulis (Bath) via Spinae (Speen), Cunetio (near Marlborough) and Verlucio (near Sandy Lane). The road was a significant route for east–west travel and military logistics in south-east England during the 1st to 5th centuries. Parts of its route were subsequently followed by earthworks that are presumed to form part of Wansdyke. During the Middle Ages, the road was used by drovers, as well as by merchants and travellers. Margary numbered the road as 53. Portions of the Roman road are extant, while in other places all apparent vestiges are absent from view. In the early 19th century, Colt-Hoare surveyed and mapped its course from Overton Down (west of Marlborough) to Bath; the rest was only known in isolated sections until a study by Hugh Toller was published in 2013.

Calleva Atrebatum ("Calleva of the Atrebates") was an Iron Age settlement, as capital of the Atrebates tribe. It then became a walled town in the Roman province of Britannia at a major crossroads in the Roman roads of Britain. Its ruins lie to the west of, and partly beneath, the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Silchester, in Hampshire, England. The church occupies a site just within the ancient walls but the village of Silchester is about a mile (1.6 km) to the west.

Goddard's Green is a hamlet and part of the civil parish of Wokefield in Berkshire, England. The settlement lies between the villages of Burghfield Common and Mortimer Common, and is located approximately 5.5 miles (8.9 km) south-east of Reading. The Garth and South Berks Hunt had kennels here until 2002.

Bramley railway station is a railway station on the Reading to Basingstoke Line in the village of Bramley, Hampshire, England. It is 46 miles 41 chains (74.9 km) from London Paddington and is served by Great Western Railway's local services between Basingstoke and Reading. The station is 5 miles (8 km) north of Basingstoke. The line opened in 1848, but the station did not open until 1895. There is a level crossing at the north end of the platforms.

Great Auclum National Speed Hill Climb was a motorcar course close to Burghfield Common in the English county of Berkshire. It was based in the grounds of a large country house, formerly owned by a family connected to Huntley and Palmer – the famous biscuit manufacturers at nearby Reading, Berkshire. The hill climb was organised by the Hants and Berks Motor Club as a National Speed Hill Climb. This was part of the RAC British Hill Climb Championship, and at 440 yards (400 m) long it was the shortest of events in the Championship. The course travelled nearly as far downhill as it did up, with a finish almost level with the start. Motor Sport reported : "The ¼-mile course embraces two sharp corners, one banked, and a twisty section, so that a premium is set on initial acceleration and low-speed cornering."

Bramley is a village and parish in Hampshire, England. In the 2001 census it had a population of 3,348. It has a village shop, bakery, estate agency, pub – The Bramley Inn (opened in 1897 as The Six Bells) – and a railway station. Also, Bramley Camp houses an Army facility where military training and manoeuvres take place.

Bramley Green is a small village in the civil parish of Bramley in the Basingstoke and Deane district of Hampshire, England. It lies approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south-east from the village of Bramley. South of the village was the Bramley Ordnance Depot, opened in 1917 to manufacture and store ammunition. It was known as Central Ammunition Depot Bramley from 1946. From 1987 it became the Bramley Training Area.
