Oak Hill Park (Barnet)

Pymmes Brook is located in North London and named after William Pymme, a local land owner. It is a minor tributary of the River Lea. The brook mostly flows through urban areas and is particularly prone to flooding in its lower reaches. To alleviate the problem the brook has been culverted in many areas. Part of it is a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II.

St Mary the Virgin is the Church of England parish church for East Barnet within the Diocese of St Albans. It is located on Church Hill.

The Church Farm Industrial School for Boys was a school in East Barnet, opened in 1860. The first superintendent was Lieut.-Col. Gillum. It once provided the choristers for the nearby church. Some of the buildings are now used as the Oakhill Campus of Mill Hill County High School, other parts as a leisure centre and others as housing. Several buildings in the grounds of the school are listed with Historic England.

Oak Hill Wood is a 10-hectare Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation Grade I, in East Barnet, London. It is owned by the London Borough of Barnet, and part of it is a 5.5-hectare nature reserve managed by the London Wildlife Trust.It is an ancient woodland, dominated by pedunculate oak, hornbeam and ash. A shrub layer includes hawthorns, field maples and wild service trees, and among the ground flora are bluebells and wood anemones. Breeding birds include tawny owls, nuthatches, tree creepers and stock doves. A small stream flows through the wood to join Pymme's Brook, which is also a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, in the neighbouring Oak Hill Park.There is also an area of meadow which contains common wild flowers such as lady's bedstraw and common knapweed. It has common butterflies such as gatekeeper, common blue and large blue.Oak Hill Wood dates back to at least the 11th century, when it was owned by the Church. After the dissolution of the monasteries, Church lands were sold in 1536–38 and incorporated in the Oak Hill Estate. In 1930 East Barnet Council acquired the land, and Oak Hill Park, including Oak Hill Wood, was opened to the public in 1933. In 1997 the wood was designated a Local Nature Reserve. An area of rough grassland in Oak Hill Park is included in the LNR.There is access from Mansfield Avenue, Daneland and Brookside, as well as from Oak Hill Park.

East Barnet School is a secondary school with academy status at Chestnut Grove in East Barnet, London, England. It has a specialism in technology, and is a Leadership Partner School.

Little Grove, originally Danegrove, was a house and estate that once existed in East Barnet on high ground to the south of Cat Hill. The original house on the site dated from at least the mid sixteenth century. In 1719, it was demolished and replaced with a house known as New Place but the house soon returned to the name of Little Grove. That house was demolished in 1932 to make way for a housing development.

Danegrove Primary School, formerly Littlegrove Mixed School and Oakland School, is a primary school in East Barnet in north London. It is on two sites, Ridgeway Avenue and Windsor Drive. The school buildings at Ridgeway Avenue, which joins Daneland, are grade II listed with Historic England.

East Barnet Valley was a local government district from 1863 to 1965 around the town of East Barnet. It was partly in the counties of Hertfordshire and Middlesex until 1889, when the Middlesex part was transferred to Hertfordshire. It was renamed East Barnet in 1935.

Oakleigh Park Rail Cutting is an 8 hectare Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation in Oakleigh Park in the London Borough of Barnet. It is on the East Coast Main Line between Oakleigh Park railway station and Barnet Tunnel to its south.The site is a wide railway cutting with a diversity of habitat which provides a good example of railway ecology. The eastern bank has extensive brambles with clumps of blackthorn and hawthorn, and herbs such as rosebay willowherb and Michaelmas daisy. The western bank is more natural with mature woodland of oak, ash and sycamore, and silver birch near the tunnel. The site is a useful habitat for birds such as goldfinch, wrens and dunnocks.The cutting can be viewed from a footbridge between Alverstone Avenue and Oakleigh Park South.
