Bensham railway station

Bensham is a suburban area in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead. The area consists mainly of residential properties, with a range of predominantly terraced housing, built between the late 1890s and the 1980s.

Gateshead Talmudical College (Hebrew: ישיבת בית יוסף גייטסהעד), popularly known as Gateshead Yeshiva, is located in the Bensham area of Gateshead in North East England. It is the largest yeshiva in Europe and considered to be one of the most prestigious advanced yeshivas in the Orthodox world. The student body currently (as of 2019) numbers approx. 350. Although students are mainly British, there are European, American, Canadians as well as some from South America, Australia and South Africa.

Redheugh railway station served the town of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England from 1837 to 1854 on the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway.

Redheugh Park (pronounced red-yuff) was a football stadium in Gateshead, England. The stadium was built in 1930 when South Shields F.C. moved to Gateshead from Horsley Hill and became Gateshead AFC. It was their home for more than 40 years. The stadium offered terracing all round. The Main Stand was a two-thirds pitch length seated stand (purchased from a greyhound stadium in Carlisle) with covered standing extensions added on either side. Opposite the Main Stand was a large covered terrace that ran the full length of the ground. The North end of the ground had a small covered terrace, whilst the opposite Ropery Road (South) End was a small uncovered terrace, which latterly included a large totalisator scoreboard introduced for greyhound racing.

The Utilita Arena Newcastle (formerly the Newcastle Arena, Telewest Arena and Metro Radio Arena) is a large indoor arena in the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Owned and operated by ASM Global and sponsored by Utilita Energy, it hosts music, entertainment, sports and business events. Having also had various professional basketball and ice hockey teams as tenants for much of its history, since 2009 it has had no ice hockey team after the departure of the Newcastle Vipers to the Whitley Bay Ice Rink, and no basketball team since the departure of the Newcastle Eagles to Northumbria University's Sport Central arena in 2010.

Gateshead Jewish Academy for Girls (Hebrew בית חיה רחל), is a two-year post-secondary school college, or "seminary". It was founded in Gateshead, England in 1998; its principal is Rabbi Avrohom Katz, an author and columnist. It is an Orthodox Jewish college, attracting Haredi students from all around the world, with a dormitory and all long term in-living accommodations. Most students come from the United Kingdom but significant numbers come from other European countries. Students range in age from 16 - 21.The academy's aim is to provide students with an education in the Torah in order to "guide and support them in their role as orthodox Jewish women in adult life". The academy also provides students with opportunities to take a range of AS/A Levels, GCSE and vocational qualifications in partnership with a local FE College.

Forth Banks Power Station refers to a now-demolished coal-fired power station in North East England. It was situated in the city centre of Newcastle upon Tyne on Forth Banks, a street to the rear of Newcastle Central station. Put up in a disused factory building in 1890 by the Newcastle and District Electric Lighting Company (DisCo), it is notable as the first power station in the world to use turbo alternators, as well as being one of the first municipal power stations in the United Kingdom. In its seventeen-year operating history, the station used various pieces of generating equipment and so had various generating capacities. It ceased to be used following an expansion of the nearby Close Power Station in 1907.

Close Power Station was a coal-fired power station situated on Newcastle upon Tyne's Quayside, in modern Tyne and Wear. The station was built by the Newcastle and District Electric Lighting Company in 1902, near their Forth Banks Power Station.

Newcastle Shot Tower, also known as Newcastle railway station, served the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England from 1839 to 1847 on the Newcastle & Carlisle Railway.

Gateshead TMD was a railway traction maintenance depot situated in Gateshead, England. The depot code was 52A during the steam era and GD later on. It was known, along with the adjacent locomotive works, as Greenesfield or Greensfield, after a Mr. Greene, from whom the North Eastern Railway (NER) bought the land . In 1958, all BR locomotive depots on Tyneside, Wearside and in Northumberland became sub-sheds of Gateshead. The depot closed in 1991. Housing now occupies the site, now known as Ochre Yards. The street names reflect the site's history, with Worsdell Drive and Fletcher Road named after former locomotive superintendents of the NER.

North East Futures UTC is a state funded University Technical College located in the centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. It opened in September 2018. This is phase 2 of the Stephenson Quarter redevelopment.The college occupies a purpose-built 5-storey new teaching block that is combined with the repurposed Grade II listed facilities of R. & W. Hawthorn, Leslie and Company. Play space is provided at basement level and a Multi-Use Games Area on the roof. The new build is in grey brick to contrast with the historic red brick of the older historic section. A listed one storey height wall had to be spanned: so the featured principal entrance is over a reclaimed hot-riveted ironwork bridge. The project was financed by the Education & Skills Funding Agency and delivered by a private developer. The job cost £12 million.
