Chacombe Priory (or Chalcombe Priory) was a priory of Augustinian canons at Chacombe, Northamptonshire, England.Hugh of Chalcombe, lord of the manor of Chacombe, founded the priory in the reign of Henry II (1154–89). on low-lying land just west of the village close to the stream. Hugh gave the priory endowments including a yardland at South Newington. In about 1225 the priory's property included eight tenements in Banbury, seven of which it retained until the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 1530s. By the time of the Hundred Rolls in 1279 the priory owned a tenement in Warwick, where it expanded its holdings until it owned a substantial number of tenements and cottages by the time of the Dissolution.On 27 September 1535 Sir John Tregonwell reported to Thomas Cromwell: At Chacombe the prior is newly come, and is competently well learned in Holy Scripture. He is bringing into some order his canons, who are rude and unlearned. I am only afraid that he is too familiar and easy with them. When the priory was suppressed in 1536 its property included land at Boddington, Northamptonshire, Rotherby, Leicestershire and Wardington, Oxfordshire, and a tenement at Thorpe Mandeville. Today the only visible remains of the priory are a small chapel apparently built in the 13th century and a set of mediaeval fishponds. However, at least three medieval stone coffin slabs, including one from the 13th century, have been found in the priory grounds.Part of the priory site is now occupied by a house, also called Chacombe Priory. The house has a large Elizabethan porch and a late 17th-century staircase, and was remodelled in the Georgian era. The house is a Grade II* listed building.

Chalcombe Road Halt was a railway station on the link line between the Great Central Railway and the Great Western Railway's Birmingham - London line, leaving the Great Central at Culworth Junction to connect with Banbury Junction. Wardington Manor

Wardington Manor lies between Lower and Upper Wardington in Oxfordshire. The house dates from the middle of the 16th century or possibly earlier. The house was remodelled in 1665 and twice early in the 20th century. From 1917, Wardington Manor was the seat of John Pease, 1st Baron Wardington, and later Christopher Pease, 2nd Baron Wardington (1924-2005), and his wife Audrey White (1927–2014). On April 16, 2004, the house was severely damaged by fire, mostly affecting the roof but has since been restored. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Middleton Cheney is a large village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England. The village is about 3 miles (5 km) east of Banbury in Oxfordshire and about 6 miles (10 km) west-northwest of Brackley. The A422 road between Banbury and Brackley used to pass through Middleton Cheney, but now bypasses it to the south. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population (including Thenford) as 3,597.

Wardington is a village and civil parish in Oxfordshire, about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Banbury. The village consists of two parts: Wardington and Upper Wardington. The village is on a stream that rises in Upper Wardington and flows north to join the River Cherwell. The parish includes the hamlet of Williamscot, about 1 mile (1.6 km) southwest of Wardington. The parish is bounded to the west and north by the River Cherwell, to the south by a stream that joins the Cherwell, and to the northeast by field boundaries. Its northeastern and southern boundaries also form part of the county boundary with Northamptonshire. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 602.

Chenderit School

Chenderit School is a coeducational 11–18 secondary school with specialist status in the visual arts in Middleton Cheney near Banbury, England, which opened in 1979 on fields which it is said were formerly used for archery practice. The name is an adaptation of a medieval name for Middleton Cheney. The school attracts students from outside its catchment area and now has over 1,100. In August 2012, it became an academy.

Nethercote, Banbury

Nethercote is a hamlet on the edge of north Oxfordshire, a semi-rural area bordering with West Northamptonshire. The hamlet sits South East of J11 of M40, lying South of the A422 and East of the M40. Predominantly agricultural land used for grazing, a single-track road runs right through the hamlet, known as Banbury Lane, which has around a dozen residential properties along the lane. Banbury Lane is still often referred to as Blacklocks Hill and this refers to the history of the area and a time when this area saw a main route into Banbury, before the M40 and A422. In 1870-72 it had a population of 97.

Fairport's Cropredy Convention (formerly Cropredy Festival) is an annual festival of folk and rock music, headed by British folk-rock band Fairport Convention and held on the edge of the village of Cropredy in Oxfordshire, England. The festival has taken place in August annually since 1976. Fairport's Cropredy Convention attracts up to 20,000 people each year. The festival features a single stage at the lower end of the sloping arena field. There are also ancillary events, such as Morris dancing in the streets and live music at the village's two pubs.
