Broxhill

Cripplestyle is a hamlet in the civil parish of Alderholt in the county of Dorset, England. It lies close to the Dorset-Hampshire border. The nearest town is Verwood, which lies approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) to the south. Prior to 1894 Cripplestyle was in the parish of Cranborne.The Ebenezer Congregational Chapel was opened in Cripplestyle on 11 December 1807. William Bailey became the first pastor in December 1808. He died in August 1838. Samuel Williams, from Penywaun in Brecon, was the minister there for 40 years. He died in 1882. A small rectangular cob-built thatched building, originally of 'clay, heather, wood and thatch', it was extended twice, but despite efforts to preserve it, it collapsed in October 1976. There is a stone memorial at the site now. The Williams Memorial Chapel was built in 1888, in memory of Williams, and to replace the Ebenezer Chapel as a place of regular worship.

Crendell is a hamlet in the civil parish of Alderholt in the East Dorset district of Dorset, England. The hamlet is close to the Dorset-Hampshire border. Its nearest town is Verwood, which lies approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) south from the hamlet. Crendell has about ten houses. Clay was once mined here for the local pottery industry in Alderholt. Crendell also has a Methodist chapel, which lies on the Hampshire side of the county border. The chapel, which was built in 1870, closed in 2011.

Daggons Road was a railway station serving the village of Alderholt, in Dorset, to the south west of Fordingbridge, in Hampshire. It was one of many casualties of the mass closure of British railway lines in the 1960s and 1970s; the last service was on 2 May 1964. It was on the Salisbury and Dorset Junction Railway, which ran north–south along the River Avon just to the West of the New Forest, connecting Salisbury to the North and Poole to the south. Today, the road through the centre of Alderholt village is still called Station Road, changing to Daggons Road at the point where the line crossed the road. A residential cul-de-sac named Station Yard (previously Daggons Road) occupies the land where the station once stood on the north side of Daggons Road, and there is another named Churchill Close opposite to the south.

Damerham is a rural village and civil parish in the New Forest district of Hampshire, England, near Fordingbridge. The area has notable Neolithic and Bronze Age barrows. It was the site of an Anglo-Saxon religious community, mentioned in the will of Alfred the Great. By the time of Domesday Book (1086), Damerham was a major settlement in the possession of Glastonbury Abbey. The village has a riverside mill and a Norman church.

Verwood is a town and civil parish in eastern Dorset, England. The town lies 10 miles (16 km) north of Bournemouth and 13 miles (21 km) north east of Poole as the crow flies. The civil parish comprises the town of Verwood together with the extended village of Three Legged Cross, and in 2014 had a population of 15,170 (according to Dorset County Council). Alderholt is a large village and civil parish in east Dorset, England; situated 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Fordingbridge. The parish includes the hamlets of Crendell and Cripplestyle. The local travel links are located 11 miles (18 km) from the village to Salisbury railway station and 9 miles (14 km) to Bournemouth International Airport. The main road running through the village is the B3078 connecting Alderholt to Fordingbridge and Shaftesbury. The village has a population of 3,113 according to the 2001 Census, increasing along with the electoral ward of the same name to 3,171 at the 2011 Census.The village is served by a small Co-operative store, (previously a Spar, until early 2007), veterinary clinic and part-time GP surgery. The village pub is The Churchill Arms. There are three churches in the village: Alderholt Chapel, St James' Church of England, and the Tabernacle Gospel Church. Until mid-2014, Alderholt also had its own independent pet store. The village also has a large recreation ground with a sports and social club, two tennis courts, and a children's play area. Until 1964, the village was served by a railway station named Daggons Road, situated to the west of the village, and on a line connecting to Fordingbridge and Salisbury to the north, and Verwood and Wimborne to the south. The civil parish was created in 1894. A Parish Book was published in 1994 by the Alderholt Parish Council, recording Parish details and interest over the 100 years.Alderholt is home to the ReCreate Arts Festival each April and has hosted such acts as Dodgy, Andy Kind and S Club.

The Hub (also known as the Verwood Hub) is a multi-purpose venue based in Verwood, Dorset, England, hosting a range of live music, theatre, art, conferences, workshops, children’s activities and other community based projects. There is also a 7.1 surround sound cinema, a state-of-the-art gym and a café.

Verwood railway station served the town of Verwood, Dorset, and its hinterland, from 1866 to 1964. It was one of many casualties of the mass closure of British railway lines in the 1960s; the last train running on 2 May 1964. The village is now much larger than when the line ran as it is within reasonable travelling distance of the South East Dorset conurbation.

Boulsbury Wood is a 119.8-hectare (296-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Dorset and Hampshire. The site is west of Fordingbridge.This site consists of parts of Boulsbury Wood, High Wood, Stone Hill Wood, Martin Wood and Blagdon Hill Wood. It has diverse habitats and flora, and Boulsbury Wood is the most species-rich wood in the county. Some parts are ancient woodland, with records dating from the thirteenth century.
