Damerham

Rockbourne Roman Villa is a Roman courtyard villa excavated and put on public display in the village of Rockbourne in the English county of Hampshire. The villa was discovered in 1942 by a local farmer and excavated by A. T. Morley Hewitt over the next thirty years. The main structure was a large residence surrounding a courtyard, including luxurious Roman mosaics and bath suites. There were also farm buildings and workshops since it sat at the centre of large farming estate. Its origins lie in the Iron Age and it was occupied until the 5th century. Parts of the villa are on public display and there is a site museum, with excavated artefacts, tracing the villa's history.

Lower Daggons is a hamlet in the New Forest district of Hampshire, England. At the 2011 Census the Post Office affirmed the population was included in the civil parish of Damerham. The hamlet lies close to the Hampshire-Dorset border. It is about 3.5 miles (6 km) from the New Forest National Park.

Knoll Camp, or Damerham Knoll, is the site of an Iron Age univallate hill fort located in Hampshire. The fort comprises a circular earthwork containing about four acres. There is a single ditch with inner rampart and traces of counter scarp bank. The site is a scheduled ancient monument no.118. Grim's Ditch also runs throughout this area. The footpath/bridleway from the nearby long barrows of Grans Barrow and Knap Barrow runs southeast along the ridge through the centre of the hill fort, leaving through the original SE entrance, and you could easily miss the ditch and bank as you cross it. The interior is thickly wooded and brambled.There is also a probable Iron Age Cross Ridge close by, described as Damerham Knoll, 50m west of Knoll Camp and comprises a shallow ditch with fragmentary remains of a bank on the west side. grid reference SU098185

Lopshill is a hamlet in the New Forest district in Hampshire, England. It is in the civil parish of Damerham. It is about 4 miles (7 km) from the New Forest National Park. The nearest town is Fordingbridge, which lies approximately 4.7 miles (6.4 km) east of the village.

Sandleheath is a village and civil parish about 1.8 miles (2.9 km) west of Fordingbridge in the New Forest District of Hampshire, England. It has a population of 663, increasing to 680 at the 2011 Census. It lies immediately north-east of the traditional (i.e. real) tripoint between Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.

Bull Hill, Dorset, Daggons and Broxhill are adjoining hamlets (mainly of Alderholt village) notable for planted woodland and tree cultivation south of Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs AONB in Dorset, England. The nearest town is Fordingbridge, about 3 miles (4.8 km) ENE. They are primarily in the civil parish of Alderholt, though some of Bull Hill is in the parishes (secular and ecclesiastic) of Damerham in a north-west projection of Hampshire. The three places have indistinct borders as is normal for hamlets.

Daggons Road was a railway station serving the village of Alderholt, in Dorset, to the south west of Fordingbridge, in Hampshire. It was one of many casualties of the mass closure of British railway lines in the 1960s and 1970s; the last service was on 2 May 1964. It was on the Salisbury and Dorset Junction Railway, which ran north–south along the River Avon just to the West of the New Forest, connecting Salisbury to the North and Poole to the south. Today, the road through the centre of Alderholt village is still called Station Road, changing to Daggons Road at the point where the line crossed the road. A residential cul-de-sac named Station Yard (previously Daggons Road) occupies the land where the station once stood on the north side of Daggons Road, and there is another named Churchill Close opposite to the south.

Alderholt is a large village and civil parish in east Dorset, England; situated 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Fordingbridge. The parish includes the hamlets of Crendell and Cripplestyle. The local travel links are located 11 miles (18 km) from the village to Salisbury railway station and 9 miles (14 km) to Bournemouth International Airport. The main road running through the village is the B3078 connecting Alderholt to Fordingbridge and Shaftesbury. The village has a population of 3,113 according to the 2001 Census, increasing along with the electoral ward of the same name to 3,171 at the 2011 Census.The village is served by a small Co-operative store, (previously a Spar, until early 2007), veterinary clinic and part-time GP surgery. The village pub is The Churchill Arms. There are three churches in the village: Alderholt Chapel, St James' Church of England, and the Tabernacle Gospel Church. Until mid-2014, Alderholt also had its own independent pet store. The village also has a large recreation ground with a sports and social club, two tennis courts, and a children's play area. Until 1964, the village was served by a railway station named Daggons Road, situated to the west of the village, and on a line connecting to Fordingbridge and Salisbury to the north, and Verwood and Wimborne to the south. The civil parish was created in 1894. A Parish Book was published in 1994 by the Alderholt Parish Council, recording Parish details and interest over the 100 years.Alderholt is home to the ReCreate Arts Festival each April and has hosted such acts as Dodgy, Andy Kind and S Club.

Cripplestyle is a hamlet in the civil parish of Alderholt in the county of Dorset, England. It lies close to the Dorset-Hampshire border. The nearest town is Verwood, which lies approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) to the south. Prior to 1894 Cripplestyle was in the parish of Cranborne.The Ebenezer Congregational Chapel was opened in Cripplestyle on 11 December 1807. William Bailey became the first pastor in December 1808. He died in August 1838. Samuel Williams, from Penywaun in Brecon, was the minister there for 40 years. He died in 1882. A small rectangular cob-built thatched building, originally of 'clay, heather, wood and thatch', it was extended twice, but despite efforts to preserve it, it collapsed in October 1976. There is a stone memorial at the site now. The Williams Memorial Chapel was built in 1888, in memory of Williams, and to replace the Ebenezer Chapel as a place of regular worship.

Crendell is a hamlet in the civil parish of Alderholt in the East Dorset district of Dorset, England. The hamlet is close to the Dorset-Hampshire border. Its nearest town is Verwood, which lies approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) south from the hamlet. Crendell has about ten houses. Clay was once mined here for the local pottery industry in Alderholt. Crendell also has a Methodist chapel, which lies on the Hampshire side of the county border. The chapel, which was built in 1870, closed in 2011.
