Dhuvjan Monastery

Dhuvjan (Greek: Δούβιανη, Douviani) is a settlement in the former Dropull i Poshtëm municipality, Gjirokastër County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Dropull. It is within the larger Dropull region.

Dropull i Poshtëm (Greek: Κάτω Δρόπολη, Kato Dropoli) is a former municipality in the Gjirokastër County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Dropull. The population at the 2011 census was 2,100. The municipal unit is inhabited by ethnic Greeks.

Derviçan (Albanian definite form: Derviçani; Greek: Δερβιτσάνη, romanized: Dervitsani, also known as Derviçian) is a settlement in the former Dropull i Poshtëm municipality, Gjirokastër County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform, it became part of the municipality Dropull. The village is inhabited solely by Greeks.

Kardhikaq (Albanian definite form: Kardhikaqi; Greek: Γαρδικάκι; romanized: Gardikáki) is a small village in Vlorë County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality of Finiq. It is inhabited by a mix population of Greeks and Aromanians.

Pecë (Albanian definite form: Peca; Greek: Πετσά), is a village of the administrative unit of Mesopotam, Finiq, southern Albania. Pecë is among the villages in which members of the ethnic Greek minority reside. A fieldwork of 1995 showed that it is one of the two villages, together with Muzinë, of the former Mesopotam commune that is inhabited solely by the Albanian Orthodox population, while the other villages of the commune are inhabited by the Greek community in Albania. At 1873-1874 a Greek school was operating in the village.

The Kordhocë Bridge is an Ottoman Turkish stone arch bridge in the village of Kordhocë in Albania and about two kilometers south of Gjirokastër. It spans the Drino river at a maximum height of about 7 meters. It is about 20 metres long and 3.7 meters wide and is one of the most important buildings of the Ottoman period in Epirus. According to historians, it was built around 1820 and at that time was the main hub connecting three cities, Gjirokastër, Libohovë and Janina. It is currently an important link between the Mali i Gjerë area and Dropull. Some scenes of three films, Muri i Gjallë , Dasma e Sakos and Ja liri, ja vdekje, were shot on the bridge.

The "Blue Eye" (Albanian: Syri i Kaltër) is a water spring and natural phenomenon occurring in the village of Muzinë in Finiq municipality, southern Albania. A popular tourist attraction, the clear blue water of the river can be seen from a depth of more than fifty metres. Divers have descended to fifty metres, but it is still unclear what the actual depth of the karst hole is. This phenomenon is also known as "springs of Bistricë" as it is the initial water source of Bistricë river, 25 km long, which ends in the Ionian Sea south of Sarandë. The source stands at an altitude of 152 m and has a discharge rate of 18400 L/s. The immediate area 1.8 km2 (0.69 sq mi) is a Nature Monument and is characterized by oak and sycamore trees. In summer 2004, the source was temporarily dried up. In the summer of 2017 part of the location was burnt by wildfire. The protected area of Blue Eye has been designated as a natural monument which covers an area of 180 ha. The Blue Eye is located slightly west of the village of Muzinë, but it can be reached by car reaching the Saranda-Gjirokaster road from the village of Krongj.

Lazarat (Albanian definite form: Lazarati) is a village in Gjirokastër County, in southern Albania. It is located in the Dropull valley. Formerly functioning as a municipality, as part of the 2015 local government reform, it became a subdivision of the municipality of Gjirokastër. The former municipality consisted of the villages Lazarat and Kordhocë. The population at the 2011 census was 2,801. In recent years, Lazarat had gained the reputation as the cannabis capital of the country due to its large scale growth of cannabis by the local population. However, in June 2014, the Albanian government cracked down and destroyed the local production and transit of the drug.

Gjirokastër District (Albanian: Rrethi i Gjirokastrës) was one of the 36 districts of Albania, which were dissolved in July 2000 and replaced by 12 counties. It had a population of 55,991 in 2001, and an area of 1,137 km2 (439 sq mi). It contained a large Greek ethnic minority. It is in the south of the country, and its capital was the city of Gjirokastër. Its territory is now part of Gjirokastër County: the municipalities of Gjirokastër, Dropull and Libohovë.
