TransMilenio is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system that serves Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, and Soacha. The system opened to the public in December 2000, covering Caracas Avenue and 80 street. Other lines were added gradually over the next several years, and as of 2022, 12 lines totalling 114.4 km (71 mi) run throughout the city. It is part of the city's Integrated Public Transport System (Sistema Integrado de Transporte Público [SITP] in Spanish), along with the urban, complementary and special bus services operating on neighbourhoods and main streets. It was inspired by Curitiba's Rede Integrada de Transporte (Integrated Transportation Network). TransMilenio consists of several interconnected BRT lines, with raised floor stations in the center of a main avenue, or "troncal". Passengers typically reach the stations via a bridge over the street. Usually four lanes down the center of the street are dedicated to bus traffic. The outer lanes allow express buses to bypass buses stopped at a station. Users pay at the station entrance using a smart card, pass through a turnstile, and wait for buses inside the station, which is typically 5 m wide. The bus and station doors open simultaneously, and passengers board by simply walking across the threshold. The elevated station platform and the bus floor are at the same height. In the beginning most buses were diesel-powered, purchased from such manufacturers as the Colombian-Brazilian company Marcopolo-Superior, German conglomerate Mercedes-Benz, and Swedish companies such as Volvo and Scania. The buses were articulated and had a capacity of 160 passengers each. In May 2007, a new, larger bi-articulated bus, with capacity for 270 passengers, was presented to the public. TransMilenio buses are not equipped with transponders to give them priority at traffic signals; regret over this fact was voiced by former general manager of the system, Angelica Castro.As of the 4th quarter of 2021, 1,759 buses on average were circulating on the trunk line system. An additional set of 800 regular buses, known as "feeders" (alimentadores in Spanish), carry passengers from certain important stations to many different locations that the main route does not reach. Unlike the main TransMilenio buses, feeders operate without dedicated lanes, are not articulated and are either green or blue (regular TransMilenio buses are red). There is no additional fare to use the feeder buses. There are 22 bicycle parking facilities in main TransMilenio stations with 6,059 parking spaces to facilitate cyclists using the system.8 BRT corridors were certified in 2013 to meet the BRT STANDARD with excellence: Autonorte and Caracas silver, Americas, Calle 80, Eldorado, NQS and Suba gold.

The Office of the Attorney General of Colombia (Spanish: Fiscalía General de la Nación; literally "General Prosecutorial Office of the Nation") is the Colombian institution part of the Colombian judicial branch of Government with administrative autonomy designed to prosecute offenders, investigate crimes, review judicial processes and accuse penal law infractions against judges and courts of justice. The Office of the Attorney General was created by the Colombian Constitution of 1991 and began operating on July 1, 1992. The current attorney general is Fernando Carrillo. An investigative process is initiated either by the institutions' own initiative or after a denouncer has made authorities aware of the case in a police station or in a Quick Reaction Unit of the Attorney General's Office.

The Maloka Museum is an interactive science museum located in Bogotá, Colombia. Visitors interact with a wide variety of exhibits that explore topics in science and technology. The museum has 9 rooms, with different science and technology topics; the Telecommunications Room shows interactive games about the Binary System, the Computers' language, how cellphones work and the communication process. The next room is The City: it shows different modules where you can see 3D images of Bogotá with glasses, the development and history of the city, and a model of the city showing all the buildings in it. The Human is a room where visitors can explore the perfect machine: the human body. The Universe room is one of the most popular rooms in the museum, where visitors can do experiments, such as knowing a person's weight on the various planets of Solar System. Petroleum is another room located on the second floor. There one can see the process of exploring and exploiting that treasure, and its different kinds and characteristics. The Water Room shows you through games the physical and chemical characteristics of that liquid; the others are the Biodiversity and Boys & Girls' room. The museum has an Activity Zone with math games and activities too. The museum has a dome theater where documentaries are shown.

The Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park, best known as the Simón Bolívar Park, is a greenspace and entertainment and sports complex located in the middle of the city of Bogotá, Colombia. It is one of the largest urban parks in the World with over 1000 acres of green spaces, bicycle paths, parks, sports complexes, a public library and the Bogota Botanical Gardens. The park is named after the Latin American Liberator Simón Bolívar. The park is located in the locality of Teusaquillo and is managed by the District Institute of Recreation and Sport (Instituto Distrital de Recreacion y Deporte - IDRD). The park is one of the most popular urban parks in the city of Bogotá. The park features a lake in which people can rent paddle boats and a large space for concerts and events capable of holding 140.000 people.

Estadio Compensar is a multi-use stadium in Bogotá, Colombia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and was the home stadium of Academia FC. The stadium holds 4,500 people and opened in 1998.

La Modelo (English: The Model [Prison]) is a prison in Bogotá, Colombia. With 11,000 inmates, the facility is known for its violence. The prison's north wing accommodates left-wing rebels while the south wing has right-wing government supporters and paramilitaries. The area between these two wings is where many killings in the prison take place. Guards do not carry weapons in the prison, although the ones in the guard towers do control rifles. Prisoners from both sides have easy access to guns and even grenades. Members of Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) continue to drill in their section of the prison. There are restaurants in the prison and one sponsored by FARC provides free food to left-wing rebels.On 27 April 2000, 25 prisoners were murdered in fighting. After the killings and the publicity it created the government began to change the prison regime. Many of the private shops were shut down and security was stepped up, although inmates still have access to arms.In 2016, the dismembered remains of at least 100 prisoners and visitors were found in drain pipes at the jail.On 21 March 2020, at least 23 prisoners were killed and 83 injured during a riot which erupted amid fears over spreading of SARS-CoV-2 through prison walls during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prisoners across the country were protesting against overcrowding as well as poor health services ever since the outbreak of COVID-19.

Radio Nacional de Colombia ("Colombian National Radio") is a Colombian state-owned public radio network, part of Señal Colombia RTVC. It was launched – as Radiodifusora Nacional de Colombia – on 1 February 1940, three years after closure of the country's first state-owned radio station, HJN. Between 1954 and 1963, Radiodifusora Nacional was also responsible for National Television, then the only television network in the country. As of 2019, the network broadcasts news and information from state and other institutional agencies in addition to coverage of all aspects of Colombian culture in programmes grouped under the heading Colombiología, with the motto Colombiología al aire ("Colombiology on the air"). Broadcasting on both AM and FM, Radio Nacional covers Colombia's 32 departmental capitals, including Bogotá, as well as a number of other medium-sized municipalities.

Radiónica is a Colombian state-owned music radio network, formerly known as 99-1 Frecuencia Joven ("Young Frequency"). It belongs to the National Radio Television of Colombia, Colombia's state-owned national broadcaster. The network broadcast mainly independently-made music covering many genres, mostly rock, electronica, and metal, with some hip hop and reggae. It also promotes and broadcasts many Colombian artists. In 2005, Bogotá's 99.1 FM would become Radiónica, during that year's Rock al Parque festival in Bogotá. It was known as Señal Radiónica between 2013 and 2015. Radiónica added its first station outside Bogotá in 2006, with HJXP 99.5 MHz in San Andrés Islas. Later it would expand to Cartagena, Cali and Medellín (2007), and other cities in 2009.

RTVC Sistema de Medios Públicos (abbreviation of Radio Televisión Nacional de Colombia, known by its acronym 'RTVC' ) is a public radio and television entity of Colombia, created by Decree 3525 of October 28, 2004, by dissolving Inravisión and its public production company Audiovisuales, under the government of President Álvaro Uribe Vélez. RTVC is a state entity, linked to the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications and its function is to produce, program and operate state radio and television services, such as Señal Colombia, Canal Institucional, Radio Nacional de Colombia and Radiónica. In addition, it manages a network of eight state channels with regional coverage. With the refocusing of RTVC's administration, the entity launched the web stations Signal Classic and Signal Llanera. In addition, it has the Memoria Signal platform, whose programming is made up of the audiovisual archives of radio and television in Colombia, and RTVCPlay OTT Service, the free entertainment content platform. Currently RTVC also has RTVC Noticias, everyone's newscast, with information on Colombia and its regions in its own accent.

Radio UNAL (until February 2021 branded UN Radio) is the radio station of the National University of Colombia in Bogotá (since 22 September 1991) and Medellín (since 30 July 2002). It broadcasts academic programming, news analysis, music, and cultural events related to the university. Radio UNAL syndicates some programmes from Radio France Internationale and DW Radio. Its morning drive flagship news programme is Análisis UNAL (until February 2021 UN Análisis), broadcast on weekdays in two segments: international news (from 06:00 to 07:30) and an analytic segment (from 08:00 to 09:00) with scholars and experts; each day a different subject is dealt with (Mondays: politics; Tuesdays: social issues; Wednesdays: science and technology; Thursdays: economy; Fridays: culture). Between 2015 and 2019, selected programming is broadcast on Caldas FM, a public station in Manizales owned by the Governor's Office of Caldas. Radio UNAL Web (until February 2021 UN Radio Web), Radio UNAL's online only station, is devoted to broadcasting recorded academic lectures.
