Osaka University of Foreign Studies (大阪外国語大学, Ōsaka gaikokugo daigaku), abbreviated to OUFS or Ōsaka gaidai (大阪外大), Hangaidai (阪外大), Hangai (阪外) or Daigaidai (大外大) was a national university in Osaka, Japan. It was dedicated to area studies and the study of foreign languages and their related cultures.

Saito-nishi Station (彩都西駅, Saito-nishi-eki) is a monorail station on the Osaka Monorail located in Ibaraki, Osaka, Japan. It is the terminus of the line. The station is located near Osaka University Minoh Campus.

Osaka International School of Kwansei Gakuin (OIS, 関西学院大学インターナショナルスクール) is a co-educational international school, located in Minoh, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. This institution educates students from kindergarten (age 4-5) through to grade 12. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is offers three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). The government of Osaka Prefecture classifies the school as a "miscellaneous school".OIS shares its campus, facilities, and a number of programs with its sister school, Senri International School (SIS), a grade 7-12 Japanese-curriculum school primarily for students who have lived abroad. Together, the schools are known as the "Senri and Osaka International Schools of Kwansei Gakuin." Secondary school students from both schools share classes in physical education, music, and art. Senior students in English and Japanese can take courses in either one of the schools. Students from both schools also join for athletic teams, drama casts, choir, bands, and orchestra groups. Founded in 1991, This institution is a member of the Japan Council of International Schools (JCIS), the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS).

Keihanshin (京阪神, "Kyoto–Osaka–Kobe") is a metropolitan region in the Kansai region of Japan encompassing the metropolitan areas of the cities of Kyoto in Kyoto Prefecture, Osaka in Osaka Prefecture and Kobe in Hyōgo Prefecture. The entire region has a population (as of 2015) of 19,302,746 over an area of 13,228 km2 (5,107 sq mi). It is the second-most-populated urban region in Japan (after the Greater Tokyo area), containing approximately 15% of Japan's population. The GDP in Osaka–Kobe is $681 billion as measured by PPP as of 2015, making it one of the world's most productive regions, a match with Paris and London. If Keihanshin were a country, it would be the 16th-largest economy in the world, with a GDP of nearly $953.9 billion in 2012.The name Keihanshin is constructed by extracting a representative kanji from Kyoto (京都), Osaka (大阪), and Kobe (神戸), but using the Chinese reading instead of the corresponding native reading for each of the characters taken from Osaka and Kobe, and the Kan-on Chinese reading of the character for Kyoto instead of the usual Go-on Chinese reading.

Baika Women's University (梅花女子大学, Baika joshi daigaku) is a private women's college in Ibaraki, Osaka, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1878 by educator Poro Sawayama. It was chartered as a junior women's college in 1950 and became a four-year college in 1964.

Katsuō-ji (勝尾寺, Katsuō-ji) is a Buddhist temple in Minō city, north of Osaka, Japan. According to an English language brochure given out at the temple, the site was first occupied late in the Nara period by two priests, Zenchū and Zensan. The Miroku-ji temple was erected in 765 CE. The name "Katsuō-ji" was given by the Emperor Seiwa. The temple was burned in 1184 CE. The present Main Hall and Temple Gate were rebuilt by Hideyori Toyotomi. Katsuō-ji is the 23rd temple in the Kansai Kannon Pilgrimage.

Osaka University (大阪大学, Ōsaka daigaku), abbreviated as Handai (阪大), is a public research university in Osaka, Japan. The university was founded in 1931 as the eighth of the Imperial Universities, with two faculties: science and medicine. Following the post-war educational reform, it merged with three pre-war higher schools, reorganising as a comprehensive university with five faculties: science, medicine, letters, law and economics, and engineering. After the merger with Osaka University of Foreign Studies in 2007, it became the largest national university in Japan by undergraduate enrolment. Although relatively new as a university, it can trace its roots back to Edo-era institutions such as the Tekijuku (founded in 1838) and the Kaitokudo (1724). Osaka University is counted as one of the most productive research institutions in Japan. Numerous prominent scholars and scientists have attended or worked at Osaka University, such as Nobel Laureate in Physics Hideki Yukawa; manga artist Osamu Tezuka; Lasker Award winner Hidesaburō Hanafusa; author Ryōtarō Shiba; and discoverer of regulatory T cells Shimon Sakaguchi.
