Studstrup Power Station

Skæring Hede (Skæring Heath) or Skæring Mindelund (Skæring Memorial) is a forest and memorial park in Skæring, the northernmost suburb of Aarhus, Denmark. Skæring Hede was originally a large heath but today only a fraction of it remains as encroaching suburbs and areas with summer houses have gradually taken over much of the natural land in the area, through the 70s and 80s. The remaining area of 8.5 hectares (21 acres) are mainly forest, although some heath do remain, and is managed as a public forest park by Aarhus Municipality. Today Skæring Hede is one of only a few public forests in Skæring and the northernmost park in Aarhus. The forest is mainly mixed pine and birch forest with a number of walking paths crossing through it and it is home to a World War II memorial. Skæring Hede is well known as the place where five Danish resistance fighters were executed during the Second World War in one of the first mass executions during the war. Parking facilities on Åstrup Strandvej.The forest has a Grejbase (Equipment base), an equipment locker which can be rented by teachers and other educators on excursions. The base in Skæring Hede is focused on marine biology due to the proximity to the coast and shallow, rocky beach. The forest today is a recreational space in Skæring and an important local landmark.

Aarhus East nominating district is one of the 92 nominating districts that exists for Danish elections following the 2007 municipal reform. It is one of the four nomination districts in Aarhus Municipality, the others being Aarhus South, Aarhus West and Aarhus North. It was created in 1970, with its boundaries being slightly changed in 2007. In general elections, the district is a strong area for parties commonly associated with the red bloc. Skødstrup is a suburb located north-east of Aarhus in Denmark. The suburb is also a railway town at Grenaabanen, the railroad between the cities of Aarhus and Grenaa. Today Skødstrup has grown together with the adjoining railway town of Løgten into a small urban area named Løgten-Skødstrup with a population of 8,197 (1 January 2019).Skødstrup elementary school has more than 1250 students making it one of the largest schools in the region.

Skæring is a suburb of Aarhus in Denmark. It is situated some 10 km. north-east of Aarhus C and is one of the wealthier suburbs. Skæring Parish had a population of 4977 as of (2006) of which 4.402 were members of the Church of Denmark. Skæring is known for good beaches, the marina Kaløvig Bådelaug and the former military shooting range Skæring Hede which is today a public park and memorial for five resistance fighters who were executed there during the Second World War. In addition, 2 movies have been filmed in Skæring.

Hornslet is a town located in East Jutland, on the southwestern part of the Djursland peninsula, Denmark. It is a commuter town of the city of Aarhus, which lies approximately 28 kilometers to the southwest, and a railway town at Grenaabanen, the railroad between the cities of Aarhus and Grenaa. Hornslet is located in Syddjurs Municipality, which in turn is part of Region Midtjylland, and has a population of 6,328 (1 January 2023).Rosenholm Castle, which belongs to the family Rosenkrantz, is located immediately outside the town. The castle was recently best known for having given facilities to DR's julekalender "Christmas at the Castle" from 1986. In the past, Hornslet was the largest town in and municipal seat of Rosenholm Municipality. 1. January 2007, it was merged with the neighbouring municipality of Rønde, to form the current Syddjurs Municipality. In 2008 a spectacular collapse of a wind turbine took place, which was filmed.

Kalø Vig (English: Kalø Cove) is a cove in the north end of the Bay of Aarhus, Denmark. It stretches in a semicircle from Skæring in the North West to Kalø Castle below Rønde in the North to the peninsula Skødshoved in the East. The area around Kalø Castle became a nature preserve in 1939 and is now a part of Mols Bjerge National Park. Sight lines over the cove from Hjelmager south of Løgten are subject to conservation and preservation rules. Kalø Vig is characterized by the contrast between the modern Studstrupværket on the West side of the cove and the ruined medieval castle Kalø Slot at the bottom of the cove.

Until 1 January 2007 Rosenholm municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in the former Aarhus County on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark just north of Aarhus and is more or less a suburb today. The municipality covered an area of 141 km2, and had a total population of 10.325 (2005). Its last mayor was Richard Volander, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Hornslet. Rosenholm municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Ebeltoft, Midtdjurs, and Rønde municipalities to form the new Syddjurs municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 693 km2 and a total population of 40,196 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Midtjylland ("Mid-Jutland Region").

Hjortshøj is a small railway town in Aarhus Municipality, Denmark. The town is located about 14 kilometres north of Aarhus, and has a population of 3,619 (1 January 2023).Hjortshøj has a limited infrastructure including a primary school, a post office (in the local Brugsen), a bank and other ancillary businesses. It is served by Hjortshøj railway station, located on the Grenaa railway line. Hjortshøj Church is a typical Danish white village church building dating back to 1100 CE; rebuilt in 1492. The town is named after the round barrow of Hjortshøj, one of two in the area. Hjortshøj translates as "Barrow of Deers". The barrows has not been dated with certainty, but are thought to have been constructed in the Nordic Bronze Age. Along with Jelshøj - the highest natural point in Aarhus municipality -, these pre-historic barrows are among the rare few left in the municipality, but are now all protected by law.Hjortshøj has its own soccer team called Virup IF.
