Pocono Mountain is a proposed New Jersey Transit Rail Operations (NJT) station located in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania and is part of a site that was formerly utilized as a summer camp. The proposed station site, which will include a 1,000-space surface parking lot, is located northwest of a multi-phased planned development for this area. Access will be from Pennsylvania Route 611 via Pocono Municipal Road/Mount Pocono Road and a local access road and the platform would be situated east of the track.Rail service from this station to New Jersey and New York City would be provided by NJ Transit if Lackawanna Cut-Off Restoration Project is completed. In spring 2021, Amtrak announced plans for potential New York-Scranton route.

The Mount Airy Casino Resort is a casino and hotel located in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, in the Pocono Mountains. The casino resort has 284 hotel rooms and a 62,000 sq ft (5,800 m2) casino. Mount Airy includes more than 1,800 slot machines and more than 70 table games including blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat. It also features several dining options ranging from a buffet to fine dining, nightlife venues, and an 18-hole golf course called Mount Airy Golf Club.Mount Airy Casino Resort was built on the site of the former Mount Airy Lodge and first opened in October 2007. The owner, Louis DeNaples, was later charged with perjury due to suspected ties with organized crime figures. He turned ownership of the casino resort over to his daughter and avoided prosecution.On March 29, 2019, Mount Airy Casino Resort applied for a sports betting license. The Fox Bet online sportsbook was launched on September 4, 2019. Pocono Mountain School District, often abbreviated PMSD for short, is a large, rural public school district located in Monroe County in Northeastern Pennsylvania. As of the 2020–21 school year, the district had an enrollment of 8,112 students in its schools, according to National Center for Education Statistics data. Pocono Mountain School District encompasses approximately 304 square miles (790 km2) and is divided into two parts: Pocono Mountain East and Pocono Mountain West. The Pocono Mountain East attendance area includes: Jackson Township, Pocono Township, Paradise Township, Barrett Township and Mount Pocono Borough. The schools serving Pocono Mountain East are: Swiftwater Elementary Center (K-3), Swiftwater Intermediate School (4-6), Pocono Mountain East Junior High School (7-8), and Pocono Mountain East High School (9-12). It also includes a small area east of Route 380 that is Coolbaugh Township. Pocono Mountain West attendance area includes: Tobyhanna Township, Tunkhannock Township and most of Coolbaugh Township. The schools serving Pocono Mountain West include: Tobyhanna Elementary School (K-3), Clear Run Elementary School (K-2), Clear Run Intermediate School (3-6), Pocono Mountain West Junior High School, (7-8), and Pocono Mountain West High School (9-12). According to 2000 local census data, the district serves a resident population of approximately 60,000 people. Pocono Mountain East High School is located in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania in the heart of The Poconos. The school currently houses students in grades nine through twelve, and is joined on the campus by the East Junior High School, Swiftwater Intermediate School and the newest school Swiftwater Elementary School, built in 2008.
