Emerald Lakes is a census-designated place located in Tobyhanna and Tunkhannock Townships in Monroe County in the state of Pennsylvania. The community is located near Interstates 80 and 380. As of the 2022 American Community Survey, Emerald Lakes was estimated to have 3,228 residents.

Pocono Mountain School District, often abbreviated PMSD for short, is a large, rural public school district located in Monroe County in Northeastern Pennsylvania. As of the 2020–21 school year, the district had an enrollment of 8,112 students in its schools, according to National Center for Education Statistics data. Pocono Mountain School District encompasses approximately 304 square miles (790 km2) and is divided into two parts: Pocono Mountain East and Pocono Mountain West. The Pocono Mountain East attendance area includes: Jackson Township, Pocono Township, Paradise Township, Barrett Township and Mount Pocono Borough. The schools serving Pocono Mountain East are: Swiftwater Elementary Center (K-3), Swiftwater Intermediate School (4-6), Pocono Mountain East Junior High School (7-8), and Pocono Mountain East High School (9-12). It also includes a small area east of Route 380 that is Coolbaugh Township. Pocono Mountain West attendance area includes: Tobyhanna Township, Tunkhannock Township and most of Coolbaugh Township. The schools serving Pocono Mountain West include: Tobyhanna Elementary School (K-3), Clear Run Elementary School (K-2), Clear Run Intermediate School (3-6), Pocono Mountain West Junior High School, (7-8), and Pocono Mountain West High School (9-12). According to 2000 local census data, the district serves a resident population of approximately 60,000 people. Pocono Mountain East High School is located in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania in the heart of The Poconos. The school currently houses students in grades nine through twelve, and is joined on the campus by the East Junior High School, Swiftwater Intermediate School and the newest school Swiftwater Elementary School, built in 2008.

Pocono Summit is an unincorporated community and census-designated place that is located in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Parts of Pocono Summit are located in the municipalities of Coolbaugh and Tobyhanna townships.

Pocono Mountain West High School is a large, rural high school located in Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania in the Poconos region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Pocono Mountain West is part of the Pocono Mountain School District and opened in 2002 to accommodate the growing population of the Pocono Mountain area. As of the 2021-22 school year, the school had 1,565 students, according to National Center for Educational Statistics data.Prior to 2002, all high school students in the district attended one school called Pocono Mountain High School. Since 2002, students in the district have been assigned to Pocono Mountain West or Pocono Mountain East based on geography. The school served 1,901 students in grades 9th through 12th. It had 114 classroom teachers in 2013.

Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark is a water park located in the Poconos in Tannersville, Pennsylvania at Big Pocono State Park. Opened in 1998, it is the summer operation for Camelback Resort, which is a skiing and snowboard resort during the winter.

The Pennsylvania State Game Lands Number 38 are Pennsylvania State Game Lands in Monroe County in Pennsylvania in the United States providing hunting, bird watching, and other activities.

Stillwater Lake is a reservoir that covers approximately 315 acres (1.27 km2). The lake is located in Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania at an elevation of 1,811 feet (552 m). Fed by Dotter's Run, Hawkeye Run, Pocono Summit Creek, and several underground springs, the lake flows out to Lake Naomi via Tunkhannock Creek. There are several Tunkhannock Creeks in the Poconos. This one merges with the Tobyhanna at Pocono Lake. The Tobyhanna flows into the Lehigh, and ultimately into Delaware Bay. The lake is currently home to Stillwater Estates, and to Camp Minsi, a facility owned by the Boy Scouts of America's Minsi Trails Council.

Pocono Mountain is a proposed New Jersey Transit Rail Operations (NJT) station located in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania and is part of a site that was formerly utilized as a summer camp. The proposed station site, which will include a 1,000-space surface parking lot, is located northwest of a multi-phased planned development for this area. Access will be from Pennsylvania Route 611 via Pocono Municipal Road/Mount Pocono Road and a local access road and the platform would be situated east of the track.Rail service from this station to New Jersey and New York City would be provided by NJ Transit if Lackawanna Cut-Off Restoration Project is completed. In spring 2021, Amtrak announced plans for potential New York-Scranton route.

Mount Pocono is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It is located nearly centered in the southernmost county of five in the northeastern corner that are part of the Pocono Mountains. The borough serves as a local highway nexus, and sees a lot of tourist traffic making use of resources in the region. As of the 2020 census, the borough population was 3,083 residents.

The Casino Theatre Entertainment Center was a two-screen movie house and ice cream shop in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania. This year-round family-owned and operated business, founded in 1975, was built on the site of the Casino dance hall and night club, which was itself established in 1922. In addition to first-run movies, the Casino housed the Village Malt Shoppe, which features an old-fashioned soda fountain offering ice cream soda, malted milk, milkshake, egg cream and phosphates, as well as a large selection of ice cream flavors. There was also a redemption game room geared toward younger children, and an 18-hole miniature golf course. In 2022, following the sale of the Theatre from the family owning it since its opening in 1975 reports emerged that the theatre would be converted into a Vietnamese restaurant by its new owners.

Camelback Mountain or Big Pocono is a conspicuous geographic feature on the Pocono Plateau. It is not a mountain, but rather a peninsular section of the Pocono Plateau, that when viewed from three sides, appears to be a mountain. The summit of Big Pocono "Mountain" is actually nearly level with land to the west and northwest, together comprising the top of the Glaciated Pocono Plateau, which is part of the larger Allegheny Plateau. The Pocono Plateau, a distinctive geologic feature not to be confused with the larger Pocono Mountains, is a glaciated plateau formed during at least three glacial movements. As glaciers moved south from Canada, they scraped flat what is now the plateau. The Glacier Movements also created other distinctive features of this region, including peat bogs and swamps, which resulted when glacial scour produced un-drained scars on the plateau's surface. Examples of depressions created by glacial scour include Deep Lake and Wolf Swamp just west of Big Pocono State Park.Big Pocono's distinctive shape, hence its nickname, and 1,000 ft prominence above land to the south, east, and north makes it plainly visible from the east and south. However, this feature is not apparent when viewed from the west. Big Pocono is home to a ski area called Camelback Mountain Resort and Big Pocono State Park. The park lies on the summit of the mountain, where there are hiking trails and picnic tables. Views from the summit are extensive. On a clear day the Delaware Water Gap, High Point (New Jersey) and the Catskill Mountains in New York State can be seen.

Big Pocono State Park is a 1,305.6-acre (528.4 ha) Pennsylvania state park in Jackson and Pocono townships in Monroe County, Pennsylvania in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The park is located on Camelback Mountain and is maintained jointly by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Camelback Ski Corporation. From the summit of the mountain, one has a view of vast portions of eastern Pennsylvania as well as parts of New Jersey and New York. A paved drive, 1.4 miles (2.3 km) in length, around the summit provides visitors with a view in all directions. Visitors can see the Delaware Water Gap from this location. The park, except for Camelback Mountain Resort, closes for the winter seven days following the end of deer season in December and reopens as conditions permit in the spring.
