The American Net and Twine Company Factory is a historic factory at 155 2nd Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was built in 1875 by the nation's first manufacturer of cotton fishing nets. It now houses corporate office space. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Boston was established in 2007 in Massachusetts. The college is owned by Career Education Corporation under a licensing agreement with Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. All US Le Cordon Bleu College locations are scheduled to close in 2017.

The building at 42 Edward J. Lopez Avenue is a rare Federal period house in East Cambridge, Massachusetts. The two story wood-frame building has a hip roof and very simple styling. It was built about 1830, during the first period of East Cambridge's development after construction of the West Boston Bridge, and was moved to its present location c. 1900, probably as part of construction work in the area. The nature of the terrain in the area at that time means it cannot have been moved very far.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Bottle House Block is a brick rowhouse in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was built in 1826 as a tavern by Deming Jarves, owner of the New England Glass Company, and was identified as the "Bottle House Block" from its earliest days. The building is the third oldest in East Cambridge and one of a few surviving brick buildings in Cambridge from that period. At the time of its construction it stood on the main road from the West Boston Bridge to Old Cambridge (roughly Harvard Square).The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Athenæum Press is an historic building located at 215 First Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The structure occupies the entire block between First Street, Second Street, Athenæum Street, and Linskey Way, which was formerly known as Munroe Street. Topped by a statue of Athena sculpted by Adio diBiccari, the building is visible from the nearby Charles River and the Longfellow Bridge.

The Middlesex County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building in East Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was initially designed in 1814-1816 by noted architect Charles Bulfinch (1763–1844), and subsequently enlarged in 1848 by Ammi B. Young. The original courthouse was given by Andrew Craigie as part of his scheme to develop East Cambridge. Bulfinch created its plans, and it was erected 1814-1816 on Third Street between Otis and Thorndike Streets. His original stuccoed building is now known by only one surviving sketch, and forms the central core of today's building. In 1848 architect Young enlarged and refaced the building in brick, adding late Federal and Greek Revival details such as a monumental cupola, Palladian windows, and recessed wall arches. A later 1924 addition obscured his 1848 entry facade. In 1973 the buildings were slated for demolition to make a parking lot, but saved by a preservation effort led by architect Graham Gund. Restoration efforts removed the 1924 addition, recreated Young's entry portico, restored its large clock tower, and cleaned and repaired the cupola's gold dome, brickwork, cast-iron trim, wrought-iron fencing, and slate and copper roofs. Other buildings in the restored Bulfinch Square include the imposing Registry of Deeds and Probate Court (1896) with its four giant brick-columned porticoes, the Clerk of Courts Building (1889), and the Third District Court Built (1931, architect Charles Greco). The Middlesex County Courthouse building is situated adjacent to the iconic 16 story former Edward J. Sullivan "Hi-rise" Superior court building.

The MIT Center for Information Systems Research (CISR) is a research center at the MIT Sloan School of Management founded in 1974. The East Cambridge Historic District encompasses the historic center of East Cambridge, Massachusetts. It includes the major buildings that were built to house county services for Middlesex County beginning in the 1810s, and a cluster of largely vernacular Greek Revival worker housing located west of the county complex on Otis, Thorndike, Spring, and Sciarappa Streets. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Kendall Cogeneration Station is a power station owned by Vicinity Energy that produces both steam and power for the cities of Boston and Cambridge. Owned by GenOn Energy in 2012, in 2013 Veolia Energy North America purchased the plant from NRG Energy. In 2020, Antin Infrastructure Partners acquired Veolia Energy North America and renamed it Vicinity Energy.

The Rowland Institute for Science was founded by Edwin H. Land, founder of Polaroid Corporation, as a nonprofit, privately endowed basic research organization in 1980. The institute merged with Harvard University on July 1, 2002, and is now called The Rowland Institute at Harvard. The Rowland Institute is dedicated to experimental science across a wide range of disciplines. Research subjects at the institute includes chemistry, physics and biology, and focus on interdisciplinary work and the development of new experimental tools. It is located on the Charles River near Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is a few miles away from the main campus of Harvard.

The Blake and Knowles Steam Pump Company National Register District encompasses the historical industrial complex of the Blake and Knowles Steam Pump Company and its successor, the Worthington Pump and Machinery Corporation in East Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is located in a one-block area surrounded by Third, Rogers, Binney, and Fifth Streets. The property was developed by the Blake and Knowles Steam Pump Company, one of the nation's leading manufacturer of industrial pumps from the late 19th century into the mid-20th century. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Kendall Boiler and Tank Company Building is a one-story commercial edifice located on 275 Third Street in Kendall Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. The brick building was formerly owned by the Kendall Boiler and Tank Company and is part of the Blake and Knowles Steam Pump Company National Register District, on the National Register of Historic Places.In 1880, Mr. Edward Kendall founded the company to manufacture steam boilers. Kendall Boiler and Tank Company relocated to its present home in Chelmsford, MA in the 20th century.The building was restored by Pfeufer Richardson Architects to meet ADA standards for accessibility. There is 8,000 square feet of office space and an underground parking garage. In 2000, the building received a Cambridge Historical Commission Preservation Award.The building was used by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) until they moved to their new East Cambridge church building, in 2010. In 2012 hack/reduce, a nonprofit Big Data workspace founded by Christopher P. Lynch of Atlas Ventures and Frederic Lalonde of Hopper, opened its doors.
