Bulstrode Preceptory

Bulstrode is an English country house and its large park, located to the southwest of Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. The estate spreads across Chalfont St Peter, Gerrards Cross and Fulmer, and predates the Norman conquest. Its name may originate from the Anglo-Saxon words burh (marsh) and stród (fort). The park and garden is designated a Grade II* listed building.

St James is an evangelical Church of England parish church in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. The Parish of St. James, within the Deanery of Amersham in the Diocese of Oxford, is the result of the amalgamation of St James Gerrards Cross and St James Fulmer, which began sharing a single parochial church council in 1984 and were formally merged in 1986. The current rector is the Rev. Matt Beeby. One of the previous incumbents, Paul Gavin Williams, is currently the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham. The church is listed Grade II* on the National Heritage List for England.

Gerrards Cross railway station is a railway station in the town of Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire, England. It is on the Chiltern Main Line between Denham Golf Club and Seer Green and Jordans.

Gerrards Cross is a town and civil parish in south Buckinghamshire, England, separated from the London Borough of Hillingdon at Harefield by Denham, south of Chalfont St Peter and north bordering villages of Fulmer, Hedgerley, Iver Heath and Stoke Poges. It spans foothills of the Chiltern Hills and land on the right bank of the River Misbourne. It is 19.3 miles (31.1 km) west-north-west of Charing Cross, central London. Bulstrode Park Camp was an Iron Age fortified encampment. The town has a railway station on the Chiltern Main Line with regular services to London. Fast train takes 19 minutes to Marylebone. The town is close to M25 motorway and the M40 motorway runs beside woodland on its southern boundary. In 2014, a major national surveying company named Gerrards Cross as the most sought-after and expensive commuter town or village in their London Hot 100 report, with an average sale price of £1,000,000.

The British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) provides radio and television programmes for His Majesty's Armed Forces, and their dependents worldwide. Editorial control is independent of the Ministry of Defence and the armed forces themselves. It was established by the British War Office (now the Ministry of Defence) in 1943. In 1944, it was managed by Gale Pedrick.

The Everyman Gerrards Cross is a cinema located in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. Originally known as The Playhouse, it has continually served Gerrards Cross as a cinema since it first opened in 1925 and is the oldest cinema in Buckinghamshire. It has been owned by several cinema chains and is currently operated by Everyman Cinemas.

Gerrards Cross Tunnel is a 310-metre-long (340 yd) railway tunnel in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, on the Chiltern Main Line. The purpose of the tunnel was to enable a new Tesco supermarket to be built over the railway line. Plans were initially met with anger by local residents, and the council refused planning permission but this decision was overturned by John Prescott. During construction of the tunnel, it partially collapsed on 30 June 2005. No-one was injured in the accident, although a train heading towards the tunnel when it collapsed had to perform an emergency stop. Early reports suspected the cause was the backfilling operation; the Health and Safety Executive are yet as of December 2020 to release their findings owing to legal issues. A freedom of information request on 10 December 2020 was denied.Despite the incident, the construction continued in 2007 with different contractors building the tunnel. The store opened in November 2010, fourteen years after the project was commissioned.

Chalfonts Community College is a co-educational secondary school in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. It takes children from the age of 11 through to 18 and has approximately 1,481 pupils. In August 2011 the school became an Academy.

Welders House is a Grade II listed house located in the village of Jordans, in Buckinghamshire, England. It was built between 1898 and 1899 for the politician Charles Thomson Ritchie by his son-in-law Mervyn Macartney. The governors of the St Luke's Hospital for Lunatics in London bought Welders House in 1910 along with its 100-acre estate and the nearby 35-acre Jordans Farm. The farm was sold in 1911 to the Religious Society of Friends. The house operated as a convalescent home for women with mild nervous maladies from 1911 to 1916. Welders Orchard of 113⁄4 acres and a field of 63⁄4 acres were purchased in 1917. The 5-acre Welders Wood was bought in 1920. The War Office loaned the house from St Luke's in 1918 for a Home of Rest for army nurses suffering from the mental strains of the First World War. The house closed in 1927 having been received by the Governors of St Luke's from the War Office in 1922. In 1940 the Welders House estate was leased to a couple who unsuccessfully planned to create a private nursing home, it was subsequently leased to the Bon Secours Sisters in 1942 and was part of the St Joseph Nursing Home in nearby Beaconsfield until April 1947.It has been Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England since December 1984. The formal grounds feature a Rose garden, a copy of the Bethesda Fountain in New York City's Central Park, and a K6 telephone box.It was owned by British two-time Academy Award winning special effects director John Stears in the 1980s. It was then bought by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in 1993.Since this time significant renovation and expansion work has been undertaken adding an alternative driveway, a tennis court and gymnasium. The house was chosen by Sharon Osbourne due to its extreme distance from any public houses.The house is built of red brick and has 2 storeys with Dutch style gabled attics. The gardens of Welders House were featured in the 2017 book The Secret Gardeners by Victoria Summerley and photographer Hugo Rittson Thomas.In 2022, Welders House and its history was covered extensively in Jack Osbourne's Haunted Homecoming Mini-series on Discovery+.

Hedgerley is a village and civil parish in South Bucks district in Buckinghamshire, England. The parish is centred 3 miles (4.8 km) south-east of Beaconsfield and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south-west of Gerrards Cross. The parish has incorporated the formerly separate parish of Hedgerley Dean since 1934 (which was once a hamlet in parish of Farnham Royal).The toponym name "Hedgerley" is derived from the Old English meaning "Hycga's woodland clearing". In manorial rolls in 1195 it was recorded as Huggeleg.

The Gerrards Cross Memorial Building is a community centre and First World War memorial in the village of Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire, to north west of London, England. The building was designed by British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, known for designing the Cenotaph in London and numerous other war memorials; it is the only instance of Lutyens designing a war memorial with a functional purpose, rather than as a monument in its own right.

St Mary’s School, Gerrards Cross is an independent day school for girls aged 3–18 situated in the heart of Gerrards Cross in South Buckinghamshire, England. The current Head is Patricia Adams. There are around 350 pupils, 110 of whom are in the Prep Department.
