Melin Hywel (English: Howell's Mill), known locally as Felin Selar (English: Selar Mill), is a 14th century Grade II* listed water-powered corn mill located near the Afon Alaw in Llanddeusant, Anglesey, Wales.

Tref Alaw is a community in Anglesey, north Wales. The community takes in the area west and south west of the Llyn Alaw, a man made reservoir which is also the largest body of water on the island. The community consists of a wide network of dispersed farms, and five settlements. Two small villages, close to each other in the centre of the community area are Llanddeusant and Elim. Llantrisant is a hamlet a mile or so to the south-west of Elim. In the north west is the small village of Llanbabo, and in the far south is the tiny hamlet of Llechgynfarwy (also spelt Llechcynfarwy), of which the principal building is St Cynfarwy's Church. At the 2001 census the community had a population of 606 inhabitants, reducing to 581 at the 2011 census.

Pen-Llyn is a hamlet in the community of Bodedern, Anglesey, Wales, between Bodedern and Llanddeusant, some 4.5 miles from Valley. Llyn Llywenan, the largest natural lake on the island is nearby.

Melin Llynon, or Llynon Mill, is a gristmill located on the outskirts of the village of Llanddeusant on the island of Anglesey. It is the only surviving working windmill in Wales. The mill was built for £529, 11s in 1775–1776, on land owned by the surgeon Herbert Jones. It is classified as a tower mill. The machinery is within a stone tower and the moving top, or cap cwch, turns so that the sails hwyliau catch the wind from any direction. The tower was 9.3 metres tall and with four floors. It was used to drive machines for grinding corn, oats and barley. The first miller, Thomas Jones (1756–1846), worked it until his death. The position of miller was passed down through the generations, eventually going to a cousin William Pritchard.A storm in 1918 damaged the cap stopping it turning to face the wind. It still operated intermittently for the next six years when the wind was from the south-west. Eventually the mill closed and became increasingly dilapidated. It remained deserted and unused until the local council restored it between 1978 and 1986. It reopened in 1986 and now produces stoneground flour.

Llantrisant (; Welsh for "Parish of the Three Saints") is a hamlet in Anglesey, Wales. It is in the community of Tref Alaw.Its parish church is dedicated to Saints Afran, Ieuan, and Sanan. The parish's former church is now a protected building. Browne Willis and Sabine Baring-Gould considered "Afran" to be a corruption of Afan, a saint of Ceredigion and Brecknockshire. (The 16th-century Peniarth MS 147 concurs, listing the church as dedicated to "Sannan and Afan and Evan".) St Afan was related to the Cuneddan dynasty of Gwynedd and was claimed as an ancestor by a 10th-century Ieuan martyred by Viking raiders.

Llyn Llywenan (English: Yew Tree Lake) is a lake in western Anglesey, Wales found just over 1 kilometre (0.6 mi) north of the village of Bodedern and 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) east of the town of Holyhead. At a maximum length of 1.1 kilometres (0.7 mi) and breadth of 0.4 kilometres (0.2 mi) it has a surface area of only 0.4 square kilometres (0.2 sq mi). This makes it the largest natural lake on the island—both Llyn Alaw and Llyn Cefni are larger but are man made. The lake, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is situated 34 metres (112 ft) above mean sea level and was chosen as an SSSI as there are uncommon aquatic plants there, as well as the fact that the lake is very shallow and could in the next hundred years or so be filled with silt. There is a small, rather featureless, island in the middle of the southern section of the lake which is roughly 35 metres (115 ft) across. There are two neolithic burial mounds immediately to the south of the lake, one of which is quite complete. The character Lord Owen Griffiths for the American role playing game Castle Falkenstein has a lover Gwagged Annwn Nimüe who, in the game world, lives by the lake.

Presaddfed Hall is a small Grade II* listed country house that stands amongst woodlands to the northeast of Bodedern, Wales, at the southern tip of Llyn Llywenan. Today the hall is a self-catering accommodation for rent. A walled garden lies to the east of the house.
