Bamber Bridge

Bamber Bridge railway station serves the village of Bamber Bridge in Lancashire, England. It is situated on the East Lancashire Line and is managed by Northern.

The Battle of Bamber Bridge is the name given to an outbreak of racial violence involving American soldiers stationed in the village of Bamber Bridge, Lancashire, in Northern England during the Second World War. Tensions had been high following a failed attempt by US commanders to racially segregate pubs in the village, and worsened after the 1943 Detroit race riot. The battle started when white American Military Police (MPs) attempted to arrest several African American soldiers from the racially segregated 1511th Quartermaster Truck Regiment, at the Ye Olde Hob Inn public house in Bamber Bridge for being out of uniform. In a confrontation on the street afterwards, a white MP shot and killed Private William Crossland. More military police then arrived armed with machine guns and grenades, and black soldiers armed themselves with rifles from their base armoury for protection. Both sides exchanged fire through the night. Although a court martial convicted 32 African American soldiers of mutiny and related crimes, poor leadership and the racist attitudes of the MPs was acknowledged as a cause.

They are currently members of the Northern Premier League Premier Division and play at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium. The club is fully owned by a community organisation that represents supporters of the club.

FC Blackburn Ladies Football Club are an English women's football club affiliated with Blackburn Rovers. In 2006, they won the second tier FA Women's Premier League Northern Division and were promoted to the FA Women's Premier League National Division, where they played until relegation in the 2010–11 season. In 2018–19, they won promotion to second highest level league of English football.

Cuerden Hall is a country mansion in the village of Cuerden near Preston, Lancashire, England. It is a Grade II* listed building. The Hall was formerly a family home between 1717 and 1906, and used by the Army until the 1960s. In 1985 it became a Sue Ryder neurological care centre. The Hall was sold to Manchester business man Colin Shenton in 2020 who is restoring it to its original purpose as a family home. The parkland and wider estate are known as Cuerden Valley Park.

It is near the M61, M65 and M6 motorways and has a bit of single carriageway motorway from the M65/M61 roundabout. Walton Summit also includes the smaller area of Seed Lee.

Walton-le-Dale is a large village in the borough of South Ribble, in Lancashire, England. It lies on the south bank of the River Ribble, opposite the city of Preston, adjacent to Bamber Bridge. The population of the South Ribble Ward at the 2011 census was 3,792. To the west of Walton-le-Dale is the residential area of Walton Park.

St Leonard's Church is an Anglican church in Walton-le-Dale, Lancashire, England. It is an active parish church in the Diocese of Blackburn and the archdeaconry of Blackburn. In 1950 it was designated as a Grade II* listed building. Parts of the church date from the 16th century and the nave and transepts were rebuilt in the early 20th century.

Lostock Hall Academy (formerly Lostock Hall Community High School) is a mixed secondary school located in Lostock Hall in the English county of Lancashire.Previously a community school administered by Lancashire County Council, Lostock Hall Community High School converted to academy status on 1 August 2011 and was renamed Lostock Hall Academy. However, the school continues to coordinate with Lancashire County Council for admissions. Lostock Hall Academy offers GCSEs and vocational courses as programmes of study for pupils. The school also operates a leisure centre which offers various sports facilities for community use outside school hours.
