La Salle Florida

Florida Oeste is a city of the Vicente López Partido in the northern suburbs of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is principally a middle-class and industrial neighbourhood located between the barrios of Villa Martelli and Munro, also in the same partido (department).

Florida is a neighborhood in Vicente López Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. The community is a suburb in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. In 2020 the population was estimated at 48,158, making it the second most populated neighborhood in Vicente López Partido. It is 15 kilometers north of downtown Buenos Aires. Florida grew and prospered in the late 1800s when it became a railway stop; the community became progressively more urban and started to receive Italian and English immigrants who set small farms that provided vegetables and fruits to nearby Buenos Aires. Nowadays it is an upper middle class residential area serving as a bedroom community. It is bordered to the east by Vicente López neighborhood, to the north by Olivos, to the south by the city of Buenos Aires, and to the west by Villa Martelli.

Munro is a city of the Vicente López Partido in northern Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina, best known for its jeans and apparel stores and outlets. It is located some 20 km from the downtown of the city. It is bordered by the neighborhoods of Villa Adelina, Carapachay and Martínez on the north; Villa Ballester on the west; Florida Este in the south; and Olivos to the east. The border streets are Mariano Moreno, Bartolomé Mitre Avenue, Paraná, National Highway 9 (Panamericana), Antonio Malaver, Alexander Fleming, Luis María Drago, Primera Junta, Montes de Oca, Capitán Cajaraville, Juramento, Carlos Calvo, Albarellos, and Belgrano. There are many sports clubs in Munro such as Unión Vecinal de Fomento Munro (founded on 1922), Olivos Rugby Club (1927), Club Unión de Munro (1946), Club Social y Deportivo Industrial Munro (1947). Some of Munro's local industries are: Atanor, Fabriloza, Colorín, Virulana, Ripán, Telagoma, Bayer, Gillette and other factories of clothing, lumber, steel, food, etc. In the town were located the Lumiton filming studios (they still exist today as a museum of the movies filmed there).

The Josefina C. Bignone Rehabilitation Institute for visually impaired and blind people provides rehabilitation services for sight-impaired people in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The institute is funded by the Municipal Direction of Disability (an agency of the Buenos Aires City Legislature) and by the Ministry of Public Health. It was founded in 2001. The institute aims to promote eye health prevent, detect and treat eye diseases.

The Quinta presidencial de Olivos, also known as Quinta de Olivos, is an architectural landmark in the north side Buenos Aires suburb of Olivos and the official residence of the President of Argentina. It is one of the President's official residences.

The Estadio Ciudad de Vicente López is a stadium located in the neighborhood of Florida in Vicente López Partido of Greater Buenos Aires. Owned and operated by Club Atlético Platense, the stadium was built in 1979, and has a capacity of 28,530 spectators. The stadium is mainly used for football matches.

The Museo de la Fundación Romulo Raggio is a museum located in Vicente López Partido, Buenos Aires, Argentina.The museum is operated by the Rómulo Raggio Foundation. It is housed in a 5,600-square-metre (60,000 sq ft) 1930 neoclassic palace that has been declared of municipal interest.

Vicente López is a neighborhood in Vicente López Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is a suburb in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. It currently has about 24,078 inhabitants. It is bounded to the north by Olivos, to the west by Florida, to the south by the city of Buenos Aires, and to the east by the River Plate.

The Kheyvis fire was a fire in the Kheyvis nightclub in Olivos, Buenos Aires, Argentina. On 20 December 1993, a fire in the club caused the deaths of 17 teenagers in a graduation party for the La Salle College. It is believed to have been caused by the burning of furniture as a prank, although no one was charged with starting it. The Kheyvis fire led to tougher regulations, including mandatory emergency exits and extensive security inspections of existing nightclubs. Until the República Cromagnon fire on 30 December 2004 in Buenos Aires, the Kheyvis fire was the worst nightclub tragedy in Argentine history.

Saavedra is a barrio or neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located in the Northern end of the city, close to Nuñez and Villa Urquiza. Its northern border is Avenida General Paz. Among the main features of the neighbourhood is the Parque Saavedra (English: Saavedra Park), which has large picnic areas and sports facilities. Many inhabitants of Buenos Aires pass through Saavedra en route to their weekends in the country. The neighbourhood's most famous son is tango singer Roberto Goyeneche. Also, it was the cradle of Platense football club. The main characters of Adolfo Bioy Casares's novel El Sueño de los Héroes (English: Dream of Heroes) live in Saavedra. The interchange between the Pan-American Highway and Avenida General Paz is at Saavedra's northern end. Points south were the site of extensive demolition during the late 1970s tenure of military-appointed Mayor Osvaldo Cacciatore, who planned a network of new expressways including one through Saavedra, one of the city's most residential barrios. Never built, the demolished stretch was converted into Avenida Roberto Goyeneche. Saavedra is also home to an important Philips manufacturing facility, as well as the Dot Baires Shopping Center, the city's largest.
