Englewood Federal Detention Center

The Federal Correctional Institution, Englewood (FCI Englewood) is a low-security United States federal prison for male inmates in Colorado. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), a division of the United States Department of Justice. The facility also has an administrative detention center and an adjacent satellite prison camp for minimum-security offenders. FCI Englewood is located in unincorporated Jefferson County. FCI Englewood is located off of U.S. Route 285 and Kipling Street, 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Downtown Denver. The facility is named after the city of Englewood, Colorado, and has a Littleton, Colorado, mailing address, but is not in either city.

David S. D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School (known as D'Evelyn) is a public secondary school near Lakewood, Colorado, United States. It is included in the Jefferson County R-1 public school district. While remaining an open public school without charter or magnet status, D'Evelyn consistently ranks among the top 100 high schools in the US. D’Evelyn’s academic tenets derive from the efforts of a volunteer council to create an "alternative educational environment" in the early 1990s. D’Evelyn’s eponymous founder, David S. D’Evelyn, died in a plane crash before the council's efforts resulted in the successful enactment of the Colorado Charter Schools Act of 1993 and the nascent school secured the "option school" status required to pursue its own academic objectives with a high degree of freedom from the district.

Peterson House, also known as Ticen (Tyson) House, in Lakewood, Colorado, USA, was built c. 1885. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.It was deemed to be historically important as the only surviving early frame structure in the Bear Creek area, and also as the only surviving early structure of the historic Cowan neighborhood of Morrison, Colorado. It has a simplified Victorian vernacular architecture.The historic Pioneer Union Ditch runs through the site.

Dakota Ridge is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) located in and governed by Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the Dakota Ridge CDP was 33,892 at the United States Census 2020. In 1988, voters turned down a proposal to incorporate Dakota Ridge. The community lies in ZIP codes 80127 and 80465.

Bear Creek Dam was built on the Bear Creek River, formerly called Grand Encampment as a noteworthy place where multiple Indian tribes gathered, traded, and settled, as reported in an 1816 survey of the area by a French party. The US Army Corps of Engineers built and operates a dam on the confluence of Bear Creek and Turkey Creek within the city limits of Lakewood, Colorado.The City of Lakewood maintains and operates the 2,600 acre Bear Creek Park in this historic area, which is heavily used by a wide array of neighborhoods and income groups in metro Denver and the mountains. The stream corridors and trails leading up to and surround the reservoirs are home to eagles, owls, and many other creatures, and provide a quiet and natural respite for metro residents. The park and trails are a central component of a larger regional multi-use trail system, a connected destination from the south and north on protected multi-use trails as well as the west through Morrison and east along the Bear Creek Trail corridor. Within the park there are miles of quiet dirt paths along streams as well as paved multiple-use trails to explore on foot, bicycle or horseback, a Visitor Center featuring displays and Naturalist Programs, a swim beach and marina with boat rentals, and a 47 site campground with electrical hook ups, as well as a heavily used partially shaded beach. There are also Horseback riding stables offering guided rides, and Water ski school and fishing opportunities in the summer months.

Avoca Lodge, known as The Molly Brown Summer House, is a Registered Historic Place in southwest Denver, Colorado near Bear Creek. The home served as a summer retreat for philanthropist, socialite, and activist Margaret Brown and her husband James Joseph Brown. Brown was known as "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" because she survived the sinking of the RMS Titanic. It is open to the public for rental and tours.

Colorado Academy is an independent nonsectarian, co-educational, college preparatory day school for students from Pre-Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade. The school's 94-acre (380,000 m2) campus is located in Lakewood, Colorado, and serves approximately 1000 students. The program is based on academics, arts and athletics. CA follows a trimester calendar, with grades issued at the conclusion of each term. Classes in all divisions follow a six-day rotating schedule.

Marston Lake is a reservoir in Denver, Colorado. It is owned by Denver Water and was completed in 1902. The reservoir sends water to the Marston treatment plant, and from there the water is distributed to Denver residents. The reservoir receives water from the South Platte River. The river receives water from the Colorado Western Slope through a transmountain diversion via the Roberts Tunnel.

Columbine High School (CHS) is a public high school in Columbine, Colorado, United States, in the Denver metropolitan area. It is part of the Jefferson County Public Schools district.In 1999, it became the scene of an infamous mass shooting, where 12 students and one teacher were murdered by senior students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold before the pair committed suicide.
