Newton Regis

Seckington is a village and civil parish in North Warwickshire, about 4 miles (6 km) northeast of Tamworth. The B4593 road between Tamworth and Appleby Magna runs through the parish, passing about 100 yards (91 m) north of the village. Seckington shares a parish council with Newton Regis and No Man's Heath. Forming part of the border with Staffordshire, it is the second most northerly settlement in Warwickshire, with only No Man's Heath situated further north, and is only 3.5 miles due south of the Derbyshire border.

No Man's Heath is an area of North Warwickshire about 6 miles (9.7 km) northeast of Tamworth. It is near the boundaries of four English counties: Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire. Nearby in the late 19th century were Netherseal Colliery and Netherseal Hall. Today a small village exists here, also called No Man's Heath, which is the northernmost settlement in Warwickshire. The population of the village is included in Newton Regis. The county boundary which used to divide the village between Leicestershire and Warwickshire has been re-drawn on 1 April 1965 to place the whole village in Warwickshire.The village has an Indian restaurant called The Four Counties Spice; this used to be the village public house, called The Four Counties Inn. Leicestershire, Warwickshire, and Staffordshire meet about 0.5 miles (800 m) northwest of the village. Derbyshire, Leicestershire, and Staffordshire meet a further half-mile northwest. There is an ancient (probably Mercian) stone, divided into four parts, which may mark the point where the four counties met before boundary adjustments.

Thorpe Constantine is a small village and civil parish in Staffordshire, England. It lies about 6 miles (10 km) north-east of Tamworth and 6 miles south-west of Measham. The nucleus of the parish is the Thorpe estate.

Warton is a village in the North Warwickshire district of Warwickshire, England. It is five miles east of Tamworth and four miles north-west of Atherstone, and is in the civil parish of Polesworth. Warton is a small village, which, being surrounded by rivers, may derive its name from Waverton (Water village). There is still a Waverton Avenue in the village, even though the street was actually constructed in the 1960s. The village has grown considerably since the 1960s, when its character was changed after an inflow of overspill families from Birmingham. Although small, the village has a pub (The Office - The old Fox and Dogs pub and adjoining land is being converted to houses), as well as a Working Men's Club. There is one shop – Maypole Stores (now called Top Shop), named after the Maypole that stood at the highest point of the village. In the 1980s, there were several shops, but all but one have now closed. Up until the late 1990s, there were two functional shops in the village, but the most northern one was converted into a residential property by its owner.

Shuttington is a village and civil parish in North Warwickshire, England, situated north-east of Tamworth, Staffordshire. In the 2001 census, the parish, which also includes Alvecote, had a population of 563, decreasing to 536 at the 2011 census. The River Anker flows through the parish, with Shuttington north-east of the river, and Alvecote south of it. The West Coast Main Line passes through Alvecote, with the Coventry Canal parallel to it and a marina south of the canal. Most of the parish is rural, including the village of Shuttington, although there was colliery alongside the railway at Alvecote. A series of pools situated along the river, on the boundary with Tamworth, were created as a result of subsidence caused by coal mining in the area. The pools, which attract a wide variety of bird species, have been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The parish church of St. Matthew, situated on the edge of Shuttington village, is a small building, with a nave dating from the 12th century. The Wolferstan Arms pub is on Main Road in the village. There is also the Samuel Barlow pub, situated on the canal at Alvecote.

Chilcote is a village and civil parish in the North West Leicestershire district of Leicestershire, England. Until 1897 it was in Derbyshire. The parish had a population of 108 according to the 2001 census, including Stretton-en-le-Field and increasing to 200 at the 2011 census.The village's name means 'the cottages of the children'.Chilcote lies close to the borders of Derbyshire (to the north), Staffordshire (to the west), and Warwickshire (to the south). Roads from the village only lead to Derbyshire and Warwickshire. It is therefore not possible to travel by road from Chilcote to any other part of Leicestershire without first leaving the county. Chilcote also plays host to an almost unique geographic phenomenon within the UK, in that its parent county, Leicestershire, borders neighbouring Staffordshire directly over a distance of only about a mile. The boundary is accessible to pedestrians and within easy walking distance of the village centre. There is only one other example in UK of a county boundary this short, and the geography makes it possible to complete a local walk on public rights of way taking in 4 different counties in under 2 hours.

River Mease SSSI is a 23.0 hectares (57 acres) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is a stretch of the River Mease and its tributary Gilwiskaw Brook, running between Alrewas in Staffordshire and Packington in Leicestershire. It is also a Special Area of Conservation The river goes through private land, but it is crossed by roads and footpaths. The River Mease rises near the village of Norton Juxta Twycross in North West Leicestershire. It flows westwards for approximately 16 miles (25 km), largely through agricultural land, to its confluence with the River Trent at Croxall in Staffordshire. The SSSI includes a range of habitats including riffles, pools, slacks, vegetated margins and variable amounts of bankside tree cover. The site also includes part of the fast-flowing Gilwiskaw Brook.The river has nationally significant populations of two species of freshwater fish, the spined loach and the bullhead. Vegetation is sparse in the upper reaches as the stream is fast-flowing, but there are stands of floating sweet-grass, and the gravel areas provide favourable conditions for the bullhead to spawn. The freshwater white-clawed crayfish Austropotamobius pallipes is also found in the river as is the otter, both having a restricted range in the East Midlands.Aquatic flora is more varied in the lower reaches, where the river flows slowly across a flood plain. Here the marginal vegetation includes common club-rush, floating sweet-grass, reed canary-grass, branched bur-reed, greater pond sedge and bulrush. Submerged aquatic vegetation includes river water-crowfoot, common water-crowfoot, blunt-leaved pondweed, fennel pondweed, arrowhead and yellow water-lily.

Polesworth railway station serves the village of Polesworth in Warwickshire, England. It is situated on the Trent Valley section of the West Coast Main Line. Since 2005, only the northbound platform has been accessible to passengers due to the removal of the footbridge, and the station has been served only by a parliamentary train service of one northbound train a day. In 2018/19 it was the least used station in Warwickshire and in the West Midlands and the ninth least used station in Great Britain.

Clifton Campville is a village, former manor and civil parish in Staffordshire, England. It lies on the River Mease, about 10 miles (16 km) east of the City of Lichfield, 6 miles (10 km) west of Measham and 7 miles (11 km) north of Tamworth. The village lies close to Staffordshire's borders with Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Warwickshire. The parish, which includes Haunton village, had a population of 912 at the 2011 census. There is a fine gothic church, dedicated to St Andrew, and listed Grade I. The village pub, The Green Man, is also a historic building.

The Church of St Andrew is a Grade I listed church in the village of Clifton Campville, Staffordshire. It was built in the 13th and 14th centuries. The tall spire is a notable feature, visible from a great distance.

Alvecote Pools is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and nature reserve situated alongside the River Anker, adjacent to the hamlet of Alvecote on the border of Warwickshire and Staffordshire in England. The majority of the reserve lies in the former county. Consisting of two discrete areas, Pooley Fields and Alvecote Meadows, the site covers 128 ha (320 acres) in total and is the largest SSSI in Warwickshire. First notified in 1955, the site has been owned by the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust since 1997. The site is effectively a series of shallow pools alongside the river that have arisen as an effect of colliery subsidence from Alvecote Colliery, which was later merged to form North Warwickshire Colliery and which ceased operation in 1965. In addition to the wetland habitat, there are areas of fen, reedbed and woodland. As a result, the area is regionally important for bird life, and over 100 species are reported annually, with between 60 and 70 breeding. The site is also important for beetles, with 322 species recorded, and spiders (121 species).
