Lej Nair (literally "Black Lake") is a lake above Silvaplana in the Engadin valley, Grisons, Switzerland. A hiking trail leads from Lej Marsch to Lej Nair. Hahnensee (Lej dals Chöds) and Lej Zuppo are located close by.

Hahnensee (Romansh: Lej dals Chöds) is a lake above St. Moritz in the Grisons, Switzerland at 2153 m above sealevel. Next to the lake there is a restaurant of the same name. In the summer time, the area can be reached by several hiking trails. In the Winter skiers coming from the Piz Corvatsch can take the Giand'Alva skilift and ski down the almost 9 km long ski run, also called Hahnensee, into St. Mortitz-Bad. Though the run can only be opened after significant snowfall has accumulated.

The Restaurant Talvo is a traditional gourmet restaurant in a historic building at the Via Gunels in the village of Champfèr in the Engadin in Switzerland. For a certain time the restaurant was once managed by the Badrutt's Palace Hotel. The Talvo became famous in the 1960s and 1970s when the international Jet set discovered St. Moritz and its surroundings as their favourite winter destination. People like Gunther Sachs, Brigitte Bardot, Gianni Agnelli and the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, were regular visitors of the Talvo. The Shah of Iran used to own a mansion in St. Moritz in an area known as Suvretta, near the hotel Suvretta House. When going to the Talvo, the Shah was always escorted by his bodyguards and police officers of the Swiss Federal Police.

Champfèr (Romansh pronunciation: [tɕɐmpˈfɛːr] ) is a village in the Upper Engadin valley of the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. The Western part of the village belongs to the municipality of Silvaplana and part of the village belongs to the municipality of St. Moritz. The two halves of the town are separated by the creek Ova da Suvretta.Lej da Champfèr, a basin of Lake Silvaplana, takes its name from the village. The village used to house a convent that has since been converted to the hotel Chesa Guardalej. The village is also home to the famous restaurant Joehri's Talvo run until March 2011 by chef Roland Joehri and his wife Brigitte. The Michelin Guide has awarded the restaurant, located in an old farmhouse, two stars.The etymology of Champfèr is unclear. One possibility is that it is based on a glacier. In 1129, its name was "Campofare", in 1471, Campher, and in 1519 Chiamfer (from Campus ferri). Another explanation could be that the name is meant to say fruitful fields or meadows, chan'ver. The Church San Rochus was built in 1521.The gourmet restaurant Talvo is located in Champfèr.

It is Upper Engadine's major town and a municipality in the district of Maloja in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. St. Moritz lies on the southern slopes of the Albula Alps below the Piz Nair (3,056 m or 10,026 ft) overlooking the flat and wide glaciated valley of the Upper Engadine and eponymous lake: Lake St. Moritz. It hosted the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948.

Bibliothek St. Moritz (in English St. Moritz Library) is a library in St. Moritz in Switzerland. It is divided into a "Leihbibliothek" [1] and a "Dokumentationsbibliothek". Located inside the old school building dominating the Plazza da Scoula in the town the library possesses over 7000 books written in a number of languages including German, Italian, French and English.On the ground floor is the reception and lending area and the main hall of the library. This has a periodicals corner complete with audio stations to view or listen to other forms of media such as periodicals and newspapers, CDs, tapes and maps. Left of the main entrance is the children's library and at the rear are two quiet reading rooms for children and adult visitors. The larger adult reading room is often hired for lectures and seminars held in the town for various events.

The name "Kulm" derives from the Latin word "culmen", which means "hill". The hotel provides good views of the local lake and the Albula Alps. The St. Moritz–Corviglia Funicular (German: Standseilbahn St. Moritz–Corviglia; STMC) is a funicular railway in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. The line links the town of St. Moritz at 1848 m with the Corviglia summit and ski area at 2489 m, and comprises two sections of differing gauge, with passengers changing cars at the intermediate station of Chantarella.At Corviglia, the funicular connects with an aerial tramway to the summit of Piz Nair.

Lake St. Moritz (German: St. Moritzersee; Romansh: Lej da San Murezzan) is a lake at St. Moritz, Switzerland. With a surface of 0.78 km², it is smaller than the main lakes of the Upper Engadin valley (Lake Sils, Lake Silvaplana). Every January or early February, Polo matches are held on the lake. Compared to polo played in the summer, a slightly larger and lighter red ball is used that is easily visible in the snow. For three weekends every February, horse races are held on the frozen lake. These races called "White Turf" have been held since 1907 and brings the wealthy tourists to the lake for champagne and betting. This is also the location, where sports enthusiasts invented the sport of skijoring. In this type of race, thoroughbred horses compete without riders on their backs, but instead skiers in tow. While the sport is also played in other alpine countries, it still is mainly found in the region in which it as originated. The sport has evolved since the first race in 1906; the race as held on the road from St. Moritz to Champfer and as won by the President of Alpina Ski Club Philip Mark and his horse Blitz (German for lightning). Today, the race is run similar to other horse races, with all horses starting at the same time and running around the track. Steering is very difficult complicating the race significantly requiring great strength and skill on behalf of the athletes. The skier with the most points after the three races on consecutive Sundays is crowned the "King of the Engadin Valley". In addition to skijoring, traditional flat and trotting races over different distances are held. Until recently visitor parking was also located on the lake, but this practice has since been prohibited.The first cricket tournament on the frozen lake took place in 1988. English cricketer David Gower parked his rental car on the ice in January 1990; overnight it broke through the ice and sank.
