The Cabarrus Arena & Events Center is located in Concord, North Carolina, about 24 miles northeast of Charlotte. The complex consists of the arena, two event centers, two reception halls, and rooms for business meetings. The venue is home to many concerts, trade and consumer shows, local, regional and national sporting events, AKC sanctioned dog shows. It is a favorite of regional and national cheer and dance competitions and serves as the location for commencement ceremonies for all Cabarrus County Schools high schools, three Union County high schools and for the Cabarrus County branch of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. It was previously home to the Carolina Thunder of the American Basketball Association, the Carolina Speed of the American Indoor Football Association, and the Carolina Force of American Indoor Football. The Cabarrus Arena hosted Total Nonstop Action Wrestling's biggest event Bound for Glory on October 4, 2015. and other Premiere Wrestling Xperience and Evolve Wrestling shows. The Cabarrus Arena also hosted Ring of Honor Wrestling's Best in the World '16, Honor Reigns Supreme 2018 and 2019, Queen City Excellence, and Crockett Cup (2019).

Lake Lynn is a small 18 acre (7.3 ha) lake located in the central part of Cabarrus County, North Carolina. It is situated between state highway 73 East and Old Airport Road. Lake Lynn Road connects these two through a twisting two lane road and affords some views of the lake and its small ponds. Lake Lynn is a natural lake and averages 28 feet (8.5 m) in depth. Some species of wildlife you may find in and around the lake are deer, squirrel, raccoon, opossum, skunk, small mouth bass, brim.

Cabarrus County ( kuh-BAIR-us) is a county located in the south-central part of the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 225,804. The county seat is Concord, which was incorporated in 1803. Cabarrus County is included in the Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia, NC-SC Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first substantiated gold find in America took place in Cabarrus County in 1799, when Conrad Reed discovered gold in Little Meadow Creek. The Reed Gold Mine (now a National Historic Landmark) was founded, and resulted in a gold rush to the area in the early 1800s. While some cotton plantations were established, most of the land was developed for subsistence farming. By 1860 the population consisted of about one-third enslaved African Americans, with few free people of color. Industrialization had started before the war with the introduction of textile mills to process the cotton. More mill development took place, especially after the railroad was constructed to the town. Coleman Manufacturing Company, started in 1897, is believed to be the first cotton mill in the nation to be built, owned and operated by African Americans. It was owned by Warren Clay Coleman from Concord, John C. Dancy (federal collector of customs), and seven partners primarily from Wilmington, North Carolina. Investors included Washington Duke and capitalists in other parts of the state. Textile manufacturing continued to be integral to the regional economy until the late 20th century. In 2015, the Coleman-Franklin-Cannon Mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Bost Mill Historic District is a national historic district located near Georgeville, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 10 contributing buildings and 3 contributing sites associated with the Bost Mill grain and cotton operation. Notable buildings include the Bost Roller Mill, the John Bost House with its five outbuildings, the Bost Tenant House, the St. Paul's Methodist Church, and the Bost Cotton Gin.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The district encompasses 69 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Concord. The district developed after 1880 and includes notable examples of Late Victorian and Bungalow / American Craftsman style residences.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The historic Cabarrus County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina was completed in 1876, replacing one that was destroyed by fire just the previous year. It was designed by architect G.S.H. Appleget. It includes Second Empire, Italianate, Classical Revival, and other architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. In 1975, a new courthouse was built; the historic courthouse is now the home of the Cabarrus County Veterans Museum and the Cabarrus Arts Council. It is located in the South Union Street Courthouse and Commercial Historic District. Cabarrus County has constructed four courthouses since the creation of the county in 1792. The records show that the first court held for the county of Cabarrus was at the house of Robert Russell located on the Salisbury Road on the third Monday of January, 1793. In 1795 commissioners were named to build the first courthouse; it was very small, only thirty feet square, poorly lit and ventilated and inadequately heated. It was built at the center of the square which was the intersection of Union and Corban Streets; this structure was used for thirty years until a new courthouse was constructed in 1826.

South Union Street Courthouse and Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 11 contributing buildings in the central business district of Concord. It primarily includes commercial buildings in popular architectural styles including Italianate, Romanesque Revival, and Second Empire style architecture. Located in the district are the Elks Hall (c. 1905), former Town Hall (c. 1885), G. W. Patterson Wholesale Grocery (c. 1890), Pythian Building (c. 1903), Watch Repair Shop (early 1930s), and former Cabarrus Savings Bank (1923-1924). Also in the district is the separately listed former Cabarrus County Courthouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Hotel Concord at Union Street N. and Cabarrus Avenue in Concord, North Carolina was completed in 1926 and is a contributing structure to the Union Street North–Cabarrus Avenue Commercial Historic District. The 46,536-square-foot building is the largest historic property in Cabarrus County, North Carolina and the second-largest privately owned building in downtown Concord.Concord National Bank (later First Charter Bank) moved to the newly built Hotel Concord, a six-story Beaux Arts Classical Revival building with arch windows, "faced with ashlar limestone ornamented with classical motifs", designed by William Lee Stoddart.Union Street Corporation approved the sale of the hotel to Rehab Development in February 2016. The city of Concord agreed to buy properties that were previously part of Fifth Third Bank and planned to donate those to Rehab Development.In December 2016, work began on the $5.3 million Rehab Development project which included the hotel, the First Charter Bank building, and the Concord Telephone Company building on Cabarrus Avenue. The hotel was converted to 40 apartments on the four upper floors and seven commercial spaces, including an event venue, which was already being used, that included the ballroom, kitchen, lobby and part of the basement.The View at Hotel Concord began leasing apartments June 1, and Union Street Market opened on the hotel's ground floor in July 2018.
