Hudson, Massachusetts

Hudson is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Hudson in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 14,907 at the 2010 census.

The Felton Street School is a historic school building built in 1882 located at 20 Felton Street in Hudson, Massachusetts, United States. The 2+1⁄2-story brick-and-stone structure served as the town's high school until 1957. Today it is a residential apartment building. The building's design and ornamentation is typical of Queen Anne and Stick style architecture. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Hudson Catholic High School (HCHS) was a coeducational Catholic high school in Hudson, Massachusetts, United States. It was within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. The school was founded in 1959. On March 29, 2009, parents and students were told that the high school would close in June, after graduating its fiftieth class. On June 4, 2009, the school officially closed. The former Hudson Catholic High School building was demolished in 2015.

The Hudson Armory is a former Massachusetts Army National Guard armory and training center located at 35 Washington Street in Hudson, Massachusetts, United States. It is a castle-like, two-story brick masonry building built in 1910 at the intersection of Park Street and Washington Street in Hudson along the Assabet River. It was originally constructed for the Massachusetts Volunteer Militia. It was designed by architects James E. McLaughlin and James Mulcahy. As of June 2021, there are plans to convert the currently vacant armory into a community arts center.

The Hudson Public Schools District is a coalition of public schools located in Hudson, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. The superintendent of Hudson Public Schools is Dr. Marco C. Rodrigues. The Hudson Public Schools' office is located at 155 Apsley Street in Hudson in the former Harriman Grammar School building.

The Firestone-Apsley Rubber Company was a tire company and factory located in Hudson, Massachusetts, United States. It succeeded the rubber clothing companies Apsley Rubber Company and Goodyear Gossamer Company. It operated in its various guises from 1885 to the 1930s. Today the Firestone-Apsley factory building is owned by Hudson Lock, LLC, which produces keys, locks, and related goods.

The Colonel Adelbert Mossman House is a historic house built between 1895 and 1903 located at 76 Park Street in Hudson, Massachusetts, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure with asymmetrical massing typical of Queen Anne Victorian architecture. It has elaborate exterior and interior detailing. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Taylor Memorial Bridge is a double-arched reinforced concrete and cast stone pedestrian bridge that spans the Assabet River in Hudson, Massachusetts, United States. It connects Wood Park and Apsley Park, public parks across the river from each other. It was built in 1926 and is dedicated to early Hudson industrialist Thomas Taylor, Hudson soldiers who have been or may in the future be killed in action, and the twenty-five Feltonville residents who died fighting for the Union during the American Civil War.

The Hudson Fab was a semiconductor fabrication factory in Hudson, Massachusetts, opened in 1979 by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). For many years it produced some of the most complex integrated circuits in the world, as part of the microVAX and related product lines. It underwent a major upgrade in 1994, but DEC's fortunes were already in decline by this point. In 1997, DEC launched a lawsuit against Intel over the Intel Itanium design, which DEC claimed violated a number of their patents related to HyperThreading. The outcome was that Intel purchased the plant and rights to the DEC's current DEC Alpha and StrongARM designs for $700 million in October 1997. This was part of a wider breakup of DEC being carried out by DEC CEO Robert Palmer, completed in 1998 with the sale of the core of the company to Compaq. Intel operated the factory as Intel Fab 17. They upgraded from 250 to 180 nm in 1999 as part of their Copy Exactly program to keep all of their fabs using identical equipment and allow them to shift production around their factories. It shifted to 130 nm at some later date. The plant was increasingly used to produce runs of specialty products that could use these older methods. It closed in 2014 as the 149-acre (60 ha) site did not have enough room to be rebuilt to use modern systems.

Fort Meadow Reservoir is a 260-acre pond in between the town of Hudson and city of Marlborough, Massachusetts, United States. At its widest point, the pond measures roughly 700 meters (2,300 ft). From end to end, it measures 1.54 miles (2,480 m) long. Amory Maynard, the founder of Maynard, Massachusetts, originally operated a saw mill on the channel leading into Fort Meadow Reservoir before the City of Boston acquired his water rights. The Reservoir lies 250 feet (76.2 m) above sea level.The Fort Meadow Reservoir ends at the borders of Hudson and Marlborough. The pond consists of a primary and secondary basin, separated by a narrows near the center of the two. The primary basin is split into two sections by a road. Two public beaches are located on the secondary basin. Centennial Beach lies on the Hudson side while Memorial Beach lies on the Marlborough side. Motorized boating is allowed, making it a popular local destination for recreation.

The Union Church of All Faiths, also known as the United Memorial Chapel for All Faiths, is a 5-foot (1.5 m) by 11-foot (3.4 m) wood-framed building or chapel located in Hudson, Massachusetts, United States. It is occasionally cited as the smallest church in the United States. However, smaller and older "tiny churches" exist in the United States. Retired clergyman Rev. Louis Winth West built the chapel in 1953 beside his own home on Central Street and in the 1970s it was moved to the grounds of the First Federated Church of Hudson, where it was located for many years. The building's interior fits four people, although 100 people sometimes gathered outside for religious services, including weddings. In 2003 former Hudson resident Vic Petkauskos bought the chapel, relocated it to Hyannis, Massachusetts, and renovated it. He planned to place it on a barge and hold wedding ceremonies off the coast of Cape Cod, although whether he ever did so is unclear. The church still exists: at some point it made its way back to Hudson from Hyannis. It is currently located on private property on Causeway Street in Hudson, where it is visible from the road.
