Dr. Hoch's Konservatorium – Musikakademie was founded in Frankfurt am Main on 22 September 1878. Through the generosity of Frankfurter Joseph Hoch, who bequeathed the Conservatory one million German gold marks in his testament, a school for music and the arts was established for all age groups. Instrumental to the foundation, prosperity and success of the conservatory was its director Joachim Raff who did most of the work including setting the entire curriculum and hiring all its faculty. It has played an important role in the history of music in Frankfurt. Clara Schumann taught piano, as one of distinguished teachers in the late 19th century, gaining international renown for the conservatory. In the 1890s, about 25% of the students came from other countries: 46 were from England and 23 from the United States. In the 1920s, under director Bernhard Sekles, the conservatory was far ahead of its time: Sekles initiated the world's first Jazz Studies (directed by Mátyás Seiber) and in 1931 the Elementary Music Department. Dr. Hoch's conservatory offers instruction in the Music Education for Youth and Adults (ANE) program, the Elementary Music Department (Basisabteilung), and the Pre-College-Frankfurt (PCF) program, which provides preparation for future studies at a Hochschule or conservatory. There are also Ballet, Early Music and New Music departments. The following qualifications are available: Bachelor of Music in Performance and Pedagogy in all instruments, voice, music theory, composition, performance and Elementary Music Pedagogy.

Ostend is a quarter of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the Ortsbezirk Innenstadt IV. The name means "East End. The Frankfurt Zoological Garden, the East Harbor, the former Großmarkthalle and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management are some of the well-known institutions in the Ostend. The European Central Bank has also built their new seat close to the Großmarkthalle at the Main river. The Hoch Conservatory are also located in the Ostend.

The Heinrich-von-Gagern-Gymnasium (abbreviation: HvGG; English: Heinrich von Gagern Gymnasium) is a Gymnasium with a focus on the classical humanities and modern languages in the Ostend city district of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Founded in 1880, the Heinrich von Gagern Gymnasium enjoys a reputation for academic excellence in the greater Frankfurt area. It is one of only a few schools which prepare students in 12 instead of the usual 13 years for the state-wide university preparatory examination, the Abitur, and its students consistently achieve the highest average grade among Frankfurt's secondary schools. The Heinrich von Gagern Gymnasium emphasizes classical education in ancient and modern languages. Is one of only two schools in Frankfurt that teach Latin and ancient Greek. Latin is compulsory for all students from the fifth to the tenth grade. Ancient Greek, French or Italian must be selected as a third foreign language from the eighth grade onward.

Uhrtürmchen (lit. 'clock turret') is a protected monument in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, located at the corner of Friedberger Anlage near the Zoo. It is one of only two remaining clock towers in the city, the other being located in Bornheim, and is the oldest surviving one, having been first erected in the 19th century. Today the tower serves as a popular tourist attraction, as well as a meeting point for people in the city.The clock was designed by architect Alexander Linnemann and endowed in 1894 by the former Ostend-Verein, an organisation consisting of tradespeople, in a primarily Jewish part of the city at the time. Following the removal of many other former clock towers at locations like Kaiserstraße and Opernplatz, this then became the tallest and most decorated clock tower left in the city. The tower survived the destruction of the city during the Second World War but fell into a poor condition over time. During the 2010s, a campaign to finance the restoration of the clock tower began, supported primarily by the city cultural department and a local organisation called Freunde Frankfurts (friends of Frankfurt). The restoration of the clock cost approximately €150,000, of which €25,000 came from the cultural department, €15,000 from the municipal council for said district, €20,000 from an anonymous donor, and €90,000 from fundraising efforts from the Freunde Frankfurts.After being deconstructed and restored in Thuringia, the clock was returned and officially inaugurated before a crowd on 26 March 2015. The original design has been maintained, which shows the base of the nine-metre high tower covered in sheet metal and adorned with coats of arms. On top of the clock base itself is a street lantern with a crown atop, upon which a knight holding a flag extended vertically stands. A few years later, citizens also began to push for the smaller clock tower in Bornheim to be cleaned up and cleared of graffitied articles, which was completed in 2019 by the local waste management authority.

The Großmarkthalle (Wholesale Market Hall), in Ostend (East End), Frankfurt am Main, was the city's main wholesale market, especially for fruit and vegetables. It closed on 4 June 2004 and the building now forms part of the Seat of the European Central Bank. It is considered a major example of expressionist architecture.

The seat of the European Central Bank (ECB) is an office building complex in Frankfurt, Germany. It comprises a twin-tower skyscraper and the former Wholesale Market Hall (Großmarkthalle), with a low-rise building connecting the two. It was completed in 2014 and was officially opened on 18 March 2015. The ECB is required by the Treaties of the European Union to have its seat within the city limits of Frankfurt, the largest financial centre in the Eurozone. The ECB previously resided in the Eurotower and, as its duties increased due to countries joining the Eurozone, in three further high-rise buildings nearby - the Eurotheum, Japan Center and Neue Mainzer Straße 32–36, the former head office of the Commerzbank.

The Frankfurt Zoological Garden is the zoo of Frankfurt, Germany. It features over 4,500 animals of more than 510 species on more than 11 hectares. The zoo was founded in 1858 and is the second oldest zoo in Germany, after Berlin Zoological Garden. It lies in the eastern part of the Innenstadt (inner city). Bernhard Grzimek was director of the zoo after World War II from 1945 until 1974. The Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) was founded in 1858 by citizens of Frankfurt to establish the Zoological Garden, which it operated until the First World War. The city council then assumed responsibility for the zoo until 1950, when the FZS again became the zoo's development association.

The Neuer Börneplatz Memorial Site, also called Börneplatz Memorial Site, in Frankfurt am Main commemorates the Jewish community of Frankfurt that was destroyed in the Holocaust. It was opened to the public on 16 June 1996. Its most important element is the outer wall of the Old Jewish Cemetery Battonnstraße with a frieze of 11,908 memorial name blocks, paying individual tribute to victims of the Schoa. The second major element is the Neuer Börneplatz between the cemetery's wall and the Rechneigrabenstraße.

The Memorial at the Frankfurt Grossmarkthalle (German: Erinnerungsstätte an der Frankfurter Großmarkthalle) commemorates the deportation of Jews from Frankfurt am Main in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust. From 1941 to 1945, the Gestapo used the cellar of the Grossmarkthalle as a gathering place for the deportation of Jews from the city and the Rhine-Main area. During ten mass deportations between October 1941 and September 1942 alone, about 10,050 people were deported from the Großmarkthalle railway station in freight trains to ghettos, concentration and extermination camps and subsequently murdered. As far as is known, only 179 deportees survived the Second World War.

The Dominican Monastery (German: Dominikanerkloster) is a former Christian monastery in Frankfurt am Main. It is the seat of Protestant Regional Association, a group of Protestant congregations and deaneries in the city, and serves as the convention site for the Synod of the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau, held usually twice a year. The former monastery compound includes a Lutheran church building, called the Church of the Holy Spirit (German: Heiliggeistkirche). Founded in 1233, the monastery came under the possession of the city in 1803. Completely destroyed during World War II, it was rebuilt in 1955–1957 by the architect Gustav Scheinpflug based on the old floor plan and layout, but in the architectural style of the post-war period. Of the original Gothic structure, only the late Gothic style choir of the church remains.

Frankfurt Lokalbahnhof is an underground S-Bahn station in the district of Sachsenhausen of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The station was opened when the City Tunnel was extended to Frankfurt South station in 1990. It consists of two tracks, surrounding a central platform. The station is an important public transport interchange and is served by S-Bahn, tram and bus routes. The S-Bahn station is located underground, while the trams and buses run on the surface. The station is named after the old Lokalbahnhof, the terminus of the former Frankfurt-Offenbach Local Railway (German: Frankfurt-Offenbacher Lokalbahn), which served the neighbourhood from 1848 until 1955, with breaks at the end of World War I and II. Its terminus in Frankfurt was called the Lokalbahnhof (literally: "Local Railway station"). In 1990, the S-Bahn station was built about 250 metres south of the site of the historic Lokalbahnhof and the modern Lokalbahnhof tram stop. It is on the City Tunnel S-Bahn line that runs south from central Frankfurt and continues southeast towards Frankfurt South station.

Frankfurt (Main) Mühlberg station is an underground Rhine-Main S-Bahn station on the Frankfurt City Tunnel in the Frankfurt district of Sachsenhausen in the German state of Hesse. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. It was opened with the eastern part of the City Tunnel (which is called the Frankfurt–Mühlberg tunnel), which was opened in 1992 as the last section of the City Tunnel. It consists of two tracks on either side of an island platform. The escalators down to the platform are located on Offenbacher Landstraße.
