Maarjamõisa (Estonian for "Mary's Manor") is a neighbourhood of Tartu, Estonia. It's located about 2 km southwest of the city centre, just north of Riia street (Jõhvi–Tartu–Valga road, E264). With the population of 382 (as of 31 December 2013), Maarjamõisa is the smallest neighbourhood of Tartu. The area is 1.13 km2 (0.44 sq mi).Maarjamõisa is best known as a medical centre, because most of the buildings of Tartu University Clinic are located in Maarjamõisa, including all the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tartu. Recently also other faculties of the university have opened their new buildings there, such as the Technology Institute, the Biomedical Center (Biomedicum), the Chemistry building (Chemicum), and the Physics building (Physicum).

Tartu Health Care College (Estonian: Tartu Tervishoiu Kõrgkool) is a higher education institution providing training to healthcare specialists in Estonia. The current rector of Tartu Health Care College is Ulla Preeden.

Alo TV is a local interactive television channel in Tartu, Estonia. It includes 24/7 music videos and news. On weekdays it also shows local information. The Alo TV broadcast area was formerly restricted to Tartu and Tartu County, but since 2009 the channel is included in Elion digital TV and Starman cable TV services. The channel is included also Freeview HybridTV list Alo TV was first broadcast from the Estonian University of Life Sciences dormitory skyscraper.

The Tartu University Clinic (Estonian: Tartu Ülikooli Kliinikum) is a healthcare and medical teaching service in Tartu, Estonia, and a subsidiary of the Tartu University. Its administrative services are located in two buildings on Puusepa Street; its buildings are located throughout the city of Tartu. As an exception, the Clinic's andrology clinic has a facility in Tallinn, on Gonsiori Street. The clinic had a pioneering role in the study of mental illnesses, as it was the world's first university clinic with a psychiatry department. Famous German psychiatrist Emil Kraepelin worked there.The surgery of the clinic is connected with works of famous Russian surgeons Nikolay Pirogov (worked there in 1836–1840) and Nikolai Burdenko (worked there in 1906–1918).

Tartu University Hospital Children's Foundation (Estonian: Tartu Ülikooli Kliinikumi Lastefond) is one of the largest and oldest charitable foundations in Estonia that provides support for the programs and initiatives of children's hospitals. Since 2001, Children's Foundation has raised more than one million euros for children.

Tähtvere is a neighbourhood of Tartu, Estonia. It has a population of 2,989 (as of 31 December 2013) and an area of 2.50 km2 (0.97 sq mi).

The Estonian University of Life Sciences (Estonian: Eesti Maaülikool, EMÜ) is a public university located in Tartu, Estonia. Its roots trace back to 1802, when the Chair of Agriculture was founded in the University of Tartu. EMÜ is the 4th largest public university in Estonia.EMÜ is, by its own claim, the only university in Estonia whose priorities in academic and research activities provide the sustainable development of natural resources necessary for the existence of Man as well as the preservation of heritage and habitat. EMÜ is a centre of research and development in such fields as agriculture, forestry, animal science, veterinary science, rural life and economy, food science and environmentally friendly technologies. The university is a member of the BOVA university network. The university is ranked among top 100 universities in the world in the field of agriculture and forestry.

Tartu railway station (Estonian: Tartu raudteejaam) is the main railway station in Tartu, Estonia. Tartu railway station is situated west of the centre Tartu. It was established in 1876 when Tapa–Tartu route was built. The station building was opened in 1877. Passenger trains are operated by Elron and most services are towards Tallinn. There are also services to Valga and to Jõgeva, Orava, Koidula and Piusa.There are two platforms with the length of 260m and 330m.

The Tartu TV Mast (Estonian: Soinaste telemast) is a truss tower located in Tammelinn, Tartu, Estonia. The tower stands 185.9 metres (610 ft) tall and was originally constructed in 1957. In 2011 the antenna was rebuilt. It is one of the tallest structures in Estonia.

Villa Tammekann is a residential building located in Tartu, Estonia, notable for being one of few private residences designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, his first design to be realised outside Finland, and the only one located in Estonia or anywhere in the Baltic states.

Tartu Song Festival arena (Estonian: Tartu lauluväljak) is a song arena in Tartu, Estonia. The arena hosts various open-air concerts, festivals and staging performances in summer. The arena's area is about 1 ha.The arena was re-opened on June 1994. The stage can accommodate about 5,000 singers. The arena capacity is about 15,000 people and the number of seats are about 10,000.

Lõunakeskus ('Southern Center') is a shopping and entertainment complex in Tartu, Estonia. It is the biggest shopping center in South Estonia. More than 170 shops and service providers operate in Lõunakeskus. The area of the center is 90,300 square meters, the center is visited annually by more than 5 million people.The owner of the center is Astri Group.The center was opened in 2001.The center consists of eg a year-round ice arena (see #Astri Arena), Apollo Cinema, Sophia Hotel, adventure park.
