Ryen (station)

Ryen (pronunciation ) is a neighborhood in the borough Nordstrand. The area is served by the station Ryen of the Oslo T-bane. The eastern depot of the rapid transit system is located at Ryen. Until 1967, it was also served by Simensbråten of the Oslo Tramway. It has also increased in population over the years.

The Sundvollen Formation is a geologic formation cropping out along the northern and eastern shores of Steinsfjorden, Oslo Region, Norway. It preserves fossils dating back to the Gorstian to Ludfordian stages (Rootsiküla in the regional stratigrahy) of the Late Silurian period.

Manglerud Church is a church in Oslo, Norway. The church was consecrated in December 1963. It is a parish church for Manglerud congregation. 400 seats, in addition to an adjacent church hall with 200 seats, as well as a smaller hall with 50 seats. There are also a small chapel, a baptismal sacristy and a youth activity room attached to the building. Manglerud Church is located above and on the south side of the E 6 highway and the subway at Ryen Station. It is easily visible with its high, steep ceilings and a slender, separate bell tower.The 15 m high wall at the choir contains stained glass created by Sigurd Winge, it depicts "The Cross - from suffering to victory". In the choir hangs two knotted tapestries, created by Else Poulson. The pulpit and baptismal font are designed by drawings by architect Carl Corwin. The church organ is a pipe organ with 32 voices. The three church bells are named "Joy," "Thank You," and "Prayer." They were cast at Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry and the weight are respectively. 240 kg, 480 kg and 850 kg. They have each engraved their own verse from 1 Thessalonians 5, 16-18: "Always be happy", "Pray forever" and "Thank you for everything".Manglerud Church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

It is located between Høyenhall and Ryen, 6.2 kilometres (3.9 mi) from Stortinget. The station was opened as a tram station in 1957, and as a subway station on 22 May 1966. The architect was Edgar Smith Berentsen.

Manglerud (pronunciation ) is a borough in the Østensjø district of Oslo, Norway. Manglerud was built in the 1960s as a suburb to Oslo, connected by the Oslo T-bane metro system.

Brattlikollen is a station on Lambertseter Line (Line 4) of the Oslo Metro. The station is between Ryen and Karlsrud, 7.8 km (4.8 mi) from Stortinget. The station was opened on 28 April 1957 as a tramway and on 22 May 1966 as a metro. The station's architect was Edgar Smith Berentsen.The station is on the south side of Brannfjell. The neighborhood around the station is mainly residential with a mixture of detached houses and apartment buildings. Access to the station is from the local road Sandstuveien which passes below the line immediately south of the station.

Kværnerparken is a park in the Kvaerner neighborhood of Oslo, Norway. The park was established in 1922 with an area of 3.1 acres (1.3 hectares), It was upgraded in 1994 to 3.5 hectares (8.6 acres) at a cost of $250,000, as part of the redevelopment of Gamle Oslo in 1994. The name of a park was used for a new residential area in the vicinity, Kvaerner Dalen.

The Loenga–Alnabru Line (Norwegian: Loenga–Alnabrulinjen) is a 7.3-kilometer (4.5 mi) freight-only railway line in Oslo, Norway. It runs from the classification yard at Loenga(Norway) to Alnabru Freight Terminal, typically serving twenty trains per day. It allows trains to pass from the Østfold Line to Alnabru without passing via Oslo Central Station. It is also used by freight trains from the Sørlandet Line, which run via the Oslo Tunnel and cross over at Bryn Station. It is notorious for the steep hill Brynsbakken which it has to climb, giving it a gradient of 2.6 percent. The line was opened from Bryn to Alnabru Station in 1904, with completion to Loenga on 1 May 1907. The line was electrified in 1928. A new classification yard opened at Alnabru in 1970. The line was the site of the Sjursøya Accident in 2010. In order to bypass Brynsbakken, the Norwegian National Rail Administration has proposed building a tunnel from further south on the Østfold Line, named the Bryn Diagonal.

The Romerike Tunnel (Norwegian: Romeriksporten) is a 14.580-kilometre (9.060 mi) railway tunnel in Norway between Oslo and Lillestrøm. It is the second longest railway tunnel in Norway after the Blix Tunnel opened in 2022, and forms the first section of the Gardermoen Line. It is double track and electrified, permitting speeds of 210 kilometres per hour (130 mph). Construction started in 1994, with plans to open with the rest of the Gardermoen Line and Oslo Airport, Gardermoen on 8 October 1998. Due to serious leakage from Lutvann and several other lakes, it did not open until 22 August 1999. The leaks increased the cost of the tunnel from 0.5 billion kr to NOK 1.8 billion. The main contractor was Scandinavian Rock Group. The tunnel was originally owned by NSB Gardermobanen, then the Norwegian National Rail Administration, and now owned by Bane NOR. The tunnel allows long-distance, regional and Flytoget Airport Express Trains to bypass the old Hoved Line, reducing journey times between Oslo and Lillestrøm from 29 to 12 minutes.

Etterstad (pronunciation ) is a neighborhood in Oslo, located between the river Alna and Strømsveien, north of Vålerenga. It was incorporated into Oslo in 1946, two years before the merger of Oslo and Aker. The area is mainly residential.

Kværner Station (Norwegian: Kværner stasjon) is a former railway station on the Gjøvik Line, located at Kværner in Oslo, Norway.On Kvaerner station was a small station building, which was sold to the Urskog–Høland Line, and in 1973 relocated to Bingsfoss station.
