St. Gallen St. Fiden railway station (German: Bahnhof St. Gallen St. Fiden) is a railway station in St. Gallen, in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. It is an intermediate station on the Bodensee–Toggenburg and Rorschach–St. Gallen lines.

Paul-Grüninger-Stadion is a football stadium in St. Gallen, Switzerland. The stadium is named after Swiss police captain and football player Paul Grüninger. It is the home of SC Brühl and has a capacity of 4,200. The stadium had major renovations done during 2005 and 2006 and a new grandstand was erected. The grandstand has a capacity of 900 seats and the rest is 3,300 standing places.

The Galgentobel (German for Gallows Gorge/Gallows Ravine), is a small gorge east of St. Gallen in Switzerland. The Steinach River flows through the gorge, which flows from its subterranean channel beneath Espenmoos Stadium out into the open. The gorge makes up the upper half of the Steinachtobel (Steinach Gorge), although the names of the two gorges are often used interchangeably. It is typically referred to by the older name of Galgentobel. The steepest part of the St. Gallen–Rorschach railway line runs along the valley wall, and the difficult topographic conditions and sloping edges have led to multiple interruptions along the line. Landslides are also common in the area, causing occasional obstructions. Aside from a dirt road leading from Mörschwil to the Heiligkreuz district of St. Gallen that was converted to a hiking trail in 2012, no roads lead to the valley. The gorge's name derives from the abbot's high court gallows, which stood at the current location of the Heiligkreuz Evangelical Church on the west end of the gorge. From the valley floor to the top measures about 100 m (328 ft).The Irish monk Gallus walked through the Galgentobel in the year 612, directly before he founded the hermitage that would become the city of St. Gallen.

The Botanical Garden St. Gallen is located in Stephanshornstrasse 4, Neudorf, St. Gallen. It features 8000 labeled plants from all over the world in its open-air displays and several greenhouses. The park and the greenhouses are accessible free of charge during opening hours.

The Kantonsspital St. Gallen (German for: Canton of St. Gallen-Hospital) is the main hospital of the Canton of St. Gallen and the sixth largest of Switzerland. It lies in the center of St. Gallen, the capital of the canton.

Kunstmuseum St. Gallen (English: Art Museum St. Gallen), is a Swiss art museum founded in 1877 and located in St. Gallen, Switzerland. It is an important museum within Eastern Switzerland because of their expansive European art collection.

The Theater St. Gallen is a performing arts center for opera, musical, ballet, and theatre in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and considered to be the oldest professional theatre in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.Although the monks Tutilo and Notker already inspired briefly lay theatre in St. Gallen during the Middle Ages, theatre did not flourish for a long time because of moral concerns. In the early 19th century interest in theatre was reawakened. After the first performance on October 14, 1801 in modest surroundings, a "Theater Stock Company" was founded in 1805 to support a local professional theatre group. When they needed a larger place for their performances, the architect Johann Christoph Kunkler built a theater into which the group moved in 1857. This "Kunkler-Bau" remained the home of the formerly called Stadttheater St. Gallen for 111 years until 1968. The building was then demolished. The current building was designed by the Swiss architect Claude Paillard and inaugurated with Beethoven's Fidelio on March 15, 1968. The building houses two stages, the larger one allows 742 persons and the studio 100 persons to attend. With the construction of the new building, the stock company was replaced by a consortium with participation of the town of St. Gallen and its canton. Surrounding communities thereafter joined in the venture. The "Genossenschaft Konzert und Theater St. Gallen" ("Cooperative for concert and theatre of St. Gallen") is since 2000 the supporting organization for the orchestre and theatre of St. Gallen. The "Sinfonieorchester St. Gallen" therefore provides orchestral support for operas and musicals. Each year about 20 new productions are introduced. Among them, in 2009, the theater featured the world premiere of The Count of Monte Cristo, a musical by Frank Wildhorn. The theatre's 390 annual performances are seen by about 140,000 attendees.

Tonhalle St. Gallen is a concert hall in St. Gallen, Switzerland. It is a cultural centre, a venue for concerts, banquets and meetings. It is the home of the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra.

Wegelin & Co. is a now-defunct bank that was located in St. Gallen in the Canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland, and specialized in private banking and asset management.Founded by Caspar Zyli in 1741, the company was renamed Wegelin & Co. in 1893. The bank's legal name changed multiple times by incorporating the names of the senior personally liable partners. As of 2013, the bank's name was Wegelin & Co. Privatbankiers, Gesellschafter Bruderer, Hummler, Tolle & Co. At the time of its closing, it was the oldest bank in Switzerland and the 13th oldest in the world.

Notenstein La Roche Private Bank was a Swiss private bank headquartered in St. Gallen and CHF 16.8 billion of client assets under management. The private bank, which had belonged to Raiffeisen (Switzerland) since 2012, was sold to Bank Vontobel in July 2018 and was fully integrated into that banking group as of 30 September 2018.

The University of St. Gallen (HSG) is a public research university located in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Established in 1898, it specialises in business administration, economics, law, and international affairs. In 2020, it had 9,047 students, of which 3,443 were master's students and 617 doctoral students. It is ranked among the top business universities in the world. Popular rankings place the institution as the best business school in the German speaking world and consistently among the top 1-7 business schools in Europe. Although one of Switzerland's smallest universities, HSG has Switzerland's largest faculty for business administration. It is a member of the CEMS and APSIA and is EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA accredited (triple crown). Its campus is listed as a Swiss heritage site of national significance.

The Sarganserland is a constituency (Wahlkreis) of the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland, with a population of 36,892 (as of 2008). The constituency corresponds to the historical county of Sargans (13th to 15th century) and the later Landvogtei Sargans in the Old Swiss Confederacy (15th to 18th century). Part of the Canton of Linth in the Helvetic Republic, the Sarganserland together with Pfäfers was joined to the canton of St. Gallen at its formation in 1803. Geographically, it includes the land between the Rhine at Sargans (the tripoint of St. Gallen, Grisons and Liechtenstein) and upper Lake Walen, including the Seeztal. The territory of Pfäfers lies along the Tamina, in the Rhine basin, and was not historically part of Sargans county but was independently owned by Pfäfers Abbey, and had been joined to the canton of Linth in 1798.
