Lidgate

Lidgate Castle is a medieval motte and bailey castle in the village of Lidgate, Suffolk, England, built to an unusual quadrangular design.

Cowlinge (/ˈkuː.lɪnʤ/), pronounced "Coolinje", is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England close to the Cambridgeshire and Essex borders.

Upend is a hamlet in the east of Cambridgeshire. It is five miles (8.0 km) south-east of Newmarket and lies in the same parish as Kirtling. Until the 15th century Upend was called Upheme which is old English for "the up-dwelling". Upend may once have been a separate village but it had been absorbed into Kirtling at some time before 1066.The population of Upend in 2013 was 70. As the population at the 2011 census was less than 100 the population is included in the civil parish of Kirtling.

Wickhambrook is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. It is about ten miles (16 km) south-west from Bury St Edmunds, halfway to Haverhill, off the A143 road. Wickhambrook is the largest village by area in the county of Suffolk with a population of 1170 in 2005.The village was recorded in the Domesday Book as "Wicham".

Ousden is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. It is located around six miles west of Bury St Edmunds and 72 miles north of London, and as of 2011, its population is 266. The village has an Anglican church of St Peter's and a chapel in the cemetery dedicated to St Barnabas. In the 1870s, Ousden was described as: "A village and a parish in the district of Newmarket and county of Suffolk. The village stands 1½ mile E of the boundary with Cambridgeshire, 4¾ S by W of Higham r. station, and 6½ E S E of Newmarket."

Coltsfoot Green is a small hamlet within the village of Wickhambrook, Suffolk, England. It constitutes one of its eleven village greens and consists of a small green with a small tributary of the River Glem running through it. Until 2009 there was a small copse on the green which was removed due to the poor condition of the trees. Replanting was anticipated in 2010 but the Estates Committee of the Parish Council decided to leave the Green without further planting for the foreseeable future. A water well resided on the green until it was filled in at an unknown date although evidence of its existence was demonstrated when the copse was removed. On the Green is also a memorial bench which looks out over the Green towards Coltsfoot Close.

Dalham is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. The name, meaning 'homestead/village in a valley' is of Old English origin and first recorded in the Domesday Book.Dalham is 13 kilometres (8 mi) west of the town of Bury St Edmunds and, at the 2001 census, had a population of 191,. increasing to 210 at the 2011 Census. The Icknield Way Path passes through the village on its 110-mile journey from Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire to Knettishall Heath in Suffolk. The Icknield Way Trail, a multi-user route for walkers, horse riders and off-road cyclists also passes through the village.

It forms a civil parish with the nearby village of Upend to its north. The population of the settlement is included in the civil parish of Woodditton.
