Cucamonga Wilderness

Cucamonga Peak is one of the highest peaks of the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County, California, with a summit elevation of 8,862 feet (2,701 m). It is within the Cucamonga Wilderness of the San Bernardino National Forest. It is named after the 19th-century Mexican land grant, Rancho Cucamonga, that was below it.

Timber Mountain is a peak of the San Gabriel Mountains, located in the Cucamonga Wilderness, Angeles National Forest, San Bernardino County, California.

Telegraph Peak, is a peak of the San Gabriel Mountains, in the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and San Bernardino County, California. With an elevation of 8,989 feet (2,740 m), it is highest point in the Cucamonga Wilderness of the San Bernardino National Forest.

Ontario Peak is a 8,696 ft (2,651 m) high peak in the San Gabriel Mountains of California. Like its neighbor Cucamonga Peak, it is in the San Bernardino National Forest, and in the Cucamonga Wilderness. The peak is named for the nearby city of Ontario, about 12 mi (19 km) due south, and first appeared in the United States General Land Office Forest Atlas in 1908. The most accessible trailhead for hiking Ontario Peak is in Icehouse Canyon. Forest Service Trail 7W07 leads from here to Icehouse Saddle, from which the Ontario Peak Trail leads to the summit. This route is 13 miles (20.9 km) round trip, with 4,100 feet (1,200 m) of elevation gain.

Sheep Mountain Wilderness is a wilderness area of 41,883 acres (169 km2) within the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and managed by the Angeles National Forest. It is within Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County, southern California. The U.S. Congress passed the California Wilderness Act of 1984, which created this wilderness area and added it to the National Wilderness Preservation System. The wilderness includes Iron Mountain, an 8,007 ft (2,441 m) peak.

San Sevaine Flats is a small area of flatland east of Cucamonga Peak in the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County, California. The area is in the Cucamonga Wilderness in the San Bernardino National Forest, 1.24 miles south of Bonita Falls on South Fork Lytle Creek and north of Rancho Cucamonga, California. It has an elevation of 1,690 meters, or 5,545 feet.

The Etiwanda Fire was a wildfire in the San Bernardino National Forest in the foothills north of Rancho Cucamonga. The fire started on April 30, 2014, during Santa Ana wind conditions of high temperatures and strong winds. On the first day, four schools and more than 1,500 homes were evacuated; residential evacuation orders were canceled that evening. Nine schools were closed on May 1, but they all were reopened on May 2. Many nearby communities were warned of unhealthy air quality. It burned 2,143 acres (867 ha) and was fully contained on May 10. The Etiwanda Fire was caused by an escaped illegal campfire.

Bonita Falls are a set of waterfalls in the San Bernardino National Forest, formed by Bonita Creek, that is said to be 370 or 400 feet (113 or 122 meters) in height, but possibly up to 495 feet high because of two undocumented drops in the canyon above. It is the second tallest in the national forest, being surpassed only by 500-foot (150 m) Big Falls. These two waterfalls are reputably the tallest in southern California.

Etiwanda Falls is a waterfall in North Etiwanta Preserve in Rancho Cucamonga, California. It is fed by East Etiwanda Creek and can be accessed through a short 1.6 mi (2.6 km) hike into a canyon. The approximately 50 ft (15 m) falls were created by two streams that merged and funneled the water into one area. It has three drops, which are about 15 ft (4.6 m), 10 ft (3.0 m), and 25 ft (7.6 m) respectively. In February 2023, a dead body was found at the trailhead.

Lytle Creek is a census-designated place in the San Gabriel Mountains, within San Bernardino County. It is about 16 miles (26 km) northwest of downtown San Bernardino and 10 miles (16 km) from the cities of Fontana and Rialto. This small remote community is located in a large southeast-trending canyon on the eastern portion of the San Gabriel Mountains completely within the boundaries of the San Bernardino National Forest.
