Ontario Peak

Sheep Mountain Wilderness is a wilderness area of 41,883 acres (169 km2) within the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and managed by the Angeles National Forest. It is within Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County, southern California. The U.S. Congress passed the California Wilderness Act of 1984, which created this wilderness area and added it to the National Wilderness Preservation System. The wilderness includes Iron Mountain, an 8,007 ft (2,441 m) peak.

The Cucamonga Wilderness is a federally designated wilderness area located in the eastern San Gabriel Mountains, in San Bernardino County, Southern California. The 12,781 acres (5,172 ha) wilderness is managed by the United States Forest Service in Angeles National Forest and San Bernardino National Forest Elevations range from about 5,000 to 9,000 feet (1,500 to 2,700 m).

The Pomona Water Power Plant, built in 1892, was the first AC power plant in California. It fed electricity to the Pomona Valley, and was designated a California Historic Landmark (No.514) on November 25, 1953.

Lookout Mountain in Los Angeles County, California, is a 6,812-foot (2,076 m) peak on the shoulder of Mount San Antonio ("Mount Baldy"). Albert A. Michelson used the peak to measure the speed of light in 1925–1929. For him to do so, the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey in 1923 established a 21.5-mile (34.6 km) baseline with an accuracy of 1 part in 11 million from Pasadena, California, at the base of Mount Baldy roughly to Rancho Cucamonga at the base of Mount Wilson. It may have been the most accurate baseline ever determined at the time. The Coast and Geodetic Survey then used the baseline to triangulate the distance to the Mount Wilson Observatory, with a distance error of about 1 part in 5 million, and Michelson measured light travel time between the stations with a rotating mirror apparatus. The concrete piers on Lookout Mountain used for the Michelson observations still exist.The first fire lookout in the Angeles National Forest was built on Lookout Mountain in 1914 and stood until it burned in 1927.

The Sam and Alfreda Maloof Compound is a historic residential complex located at 5131 Carnelian Street in Alta Loma, California. The complex includes the house and workshop of woodworker and furniture designer Sam Maloof, who designed the buildings himself. Maloof's house includes hand-carved redwood doors and windows, which Maloof gradually carved to replace the pre-made fixtures. Maloof also replaced many of the house's functional elements with his own creations, including door handles and surrounds, rafters, and even toilet seats. Maloof used the adjacent workshop and display room to build and show his furniture, and he experienced his greatest period of success in the 1960s and 1970s while working in the house. The house was relocated in the early 2000s when California State Route 210 was built through the area; it is now a museum of Arts and Crafts work.The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 9, 2010.

San Antonio Heights is a census-designated place (CDP) in the San Bernardino County, California. It is in the northern Pomona Valley and the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. The population was 3,371 at the 2010 census, up from 3,122 at the 2000 census.

Alta Loma (Spanish for "Tall Hill") is one of three unincorporated areas that became part of the city of Rancho Cucamonga, California, United States in 1977. The community is located at 34.15°N 117.60°W / 34.15; -117.60 in the foothills of the south face of the San Gabriel Mountain range, near Cucamonga Peak and Mount San Antonio (Mount Baldy). Its ZIP codes are 91701 and 91737. Elevation ranges from 1,400 feet (430 m) to 3,000 feet (910 m). The name comes from the Spanish words for "high hill." Alta Loma had previously been known as "Iamosa".
