Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital

The Quadram Institute is a centre for food and health research, combining Quadram Institute Bioscience (formerly the Institute of Food Research), the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals’ endoscopy centre and aspects of the University of East Anglia’s Norwich Medical School and the Faculty of Science. It is located on the outskirts of Norwich, England, United Kingdom and is a member of the Norwich Research Park. The Institute is housed in a purpose-built facility on the Norwich Research Park that opened in 2018. Its founding partners are Quadram Institute Bioscience, University of East Anglia, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. The institute combines research teams from the partners with a regional gastrointestinal endoscopy unit and a clinical trials facility. The first patients were treated in the endoscopy unit in December 2018.

Norwich Research Park is a business community located to the southwest of Norwich, Norfolk, in East Anglia, England close to the A11 and the A47 roads. Set in over 230 hectares of parkland, Norwich Research Park is home to over 12,000 people, including 3,000 researchers and clinicians with an annual research spend of over £130 million. Norwich Research Park is a partnership between the University of East Anglia, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, four independent world-renowned research institutes, namely the John Innes Centre, the Quadram Institute and the Earlham Institute, (all strategically funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council BBSRC) and The Sainsbury Laboratory linked to the Gatsby Charitable Foundation. The focus of the Norwich Research Park is on creating and supporting new companies and jobs based on bioscience, in 2011 the Government awarded BBSRC £26 million to invest in Norwich Research Park. The National Collection of Yeast Cultures (NCYC) is a yeast culture collection, established in 1951, and working under the Budapest Treaty for the storage of over 4,000 yeast cultures. Located at the Institute of Food Research in Norwich, England, since 1980. NCYC is part funded by the UK government but provides a commercial service to identify, store and supply yeast cultures. As well as the traditional baking and brewing yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, this culture collection also contains hundreds of non-pathogenic yeast species. The yeasts are kept frozen under liquid nitrogen or freeze-dried in glass ampoules. To ensure the collection's safety, it is also duplicated and stored off site. Yeasts have been stored and revived successfully decades later.

The Norwich Radiology Academy, opened in November 2005, is part of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust and is one of only three training centres in England specially created for training consultant radiologists. The Norwich Radiology Academy is located in the Cotman Centre on the Norwich Research Park and was formally opened in February 2006 by the President of the Royal College of Radiologists, Professor Janet Husband. The Department of Health and Royal College of Radiologists jointly developed The Radiology – Integrated Training Initiative [1]. The initiative provides additional radiology training by splitting training time between a teaching hospital and the radiology academy.

Colney () is a village in the western outskirts of Norwich in Norfolk, England. It is in the administrative district of South Norfolk. It covers an area of 3.83 km2 (1.48 sq mi) and had a population of 124 in 35 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 153 at the 2011 census.The villages name means 'Cola's island'. Its church, St Andrew, is one of 124 existing round-tower churches in Norfolk. The village is home of Greenacres Memorial Park, which contains sections for natural 'woodland' burials and interments/scatterings of ashes after cremation, and a Memorial Hall for celebrations of funerals and weddings. Cremation services can take place there although coffins are taken to a licensed crematorium elsewhere for actual cremation. Those whose funerals have taken place here include television presenter Caroline Flack (1979-2020).Colney is home to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, John Innes Centre, Quadram Institute and the location of Norwich City F.C.'s training ground.The River Yare flows through it.

Earlham Institute (EI, formerly The Genome Analysis Centre (TGAC)) is a life science research institute located at the Norwich Research Park (NRP), Norwich, England. EI's research is focused on exploring living systems by applying computational science and biotechnology to answer ambitious biological questions and generate enabling resources.

Norwich City Under-23s and Academy is the youth organisation run by Norwich City F.C. The team is made up of under-23 and academy players and is effectively Norwich City's second-string side, but is limited to three outfield players and one goalkeeper over the age of 23 per game following the introduction of new regulations from the 2012–13 season. The under-18 players among other younger age groups make up the academy team. In March 2018, Norwich City F.C. announced a public mini-bond investment scheme, through sports investment platform Tifosy, with the aim of raising £3,500,000 towards developing new academy facilities. Funds from more than 700 fans and investors exceeded the £3,500,000 target and reached the £5,000,000 limit through a five-year bond scheme, called the Canaries bond, and sold out before it could be made publicly available. With the money, the club has already installed new pitches at its Category 1 Academy, as well as a new irrigation system, cameras for analysis and floodlights. The club has already started work on a new main building, which will house a new gym, classrooms, physios room, changing rooms and offices, and is due to be completed this summer and has just had a roof put on. A stand will also be installed next to the main Academy pitch.

Earlham Park Woods is a 8.1-hectare (20-acre) Local Nature Reserve on the western outskirts of Norwich in Norfolk. It is owned and managed by Norwich City Council.This is an area of woodland fringing Earlham Park, and trees include regenerating elms. Other habitats include tall marsh, unimproved grassland and a pond which has silted up.There is access from Earlham Road and University Drive.

Bowthorpe Marsh is a 5.9-hectare (15-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Norwich in Norfolk. It is owned and managed by Norwich City Council.This site adjacent to the River Yare has unimproved grassland, tall fen, a seasonal pond and drainage ditches, which have aquatic plants such as reed sweet-grass.There is access by a footpath from Doddermans Way.

The Sainsbury Centre is an art gallery and museum located on the campus of the University of East Anglia, Norwich, England. The building, which contains a collection of world art, was one of the first major public buildings to be designed by the architects Norman Foster and Wendy Cheesman, completed in 1978. The building became grade II* listed in December 2012.

Earlham Hall is a country house in Norfolk, England. It is located just to the west of the city of Norwich, on Earlham Road, on the outskirts of the village of Earlham. For generations it was the home of the Gurney family. The Gurneys were known as bankers and social activists; prison reformer Elizabeth Fry grew up at Earlham Hall. When the University of East Anglia was founded in 1963, the building became its administrative centre, and it now serves as the law school.

The Climatic Research Unit (CRU) is a component of the University of East Anglia and is one of the leading institutions concerned with the study of natural and anthropogenic climate change.With a staff of some thirty research scientists and students, the CRU has contributed to the development of a number of the data sets widely used in climate research, including one of the global temperature records used to monitor the state of the climate system, as well as statistical software packages and climate models.
