The Climatic Research Unit (CRU) is a component of the University of East Anglia and is one of the leading institutions concerned with the study of natural and anthropogenic climate change.With a staff of some thirty research scientists and students, the CRU has contributed to the development of a number of the data sets widely used in climate research, including one of the global temperature records used to monitor the state of the climate system, as well as statistical software packages and climate models.

Earlham Park Woods is a 8.1-hectare (20-acre) Local Nature Reserve on the western outskirts of Norwich in Norfolk. It is owned and managed by Norwich City Council.This is an area of woodland fringing Earlham Park, and trees include regenerating elms. Other habitats include tall marsh, unimproved grassland and a pond which has silted up.There is access from Earlham Road and University Drive.

Earlham Hall is a country house in Norfolk, England. It is located just to the west of the city of Norwich, on Earlham Road, on the outskirts of the village of Earlham. For generations it was the home of the Gurney family. The Gurneys were known as bankers and social activists; prison reformer Elizabeth Fry grew up at Earlham Hall. When the University of East Anglia was founded in 1963, the building became its administrative centre, and it now serves as the law school.

UEA Broad is an area of open water commonly known as a Broad. It gets its name from the University of East Anglia that it neighbours. The UEA Broad is one of the few Broads produced by gravel extraction rather than peat digging; there is still machinery under the water. It was developed by Atlas Aggregates in conjunction with the university between August 1973 and June 1978. It has an area of 7.8 hectares (19 acres), with sides that slope very steeply down to a maximum depth of 6 metres (20 ft), which constrains it as a wildlife habitat.The southern side borders a Site of Special Scientific Interest where it meets the Yare. The Broad is particularly well known for its bird life with great crested grebes being a common sight; other birds include kingfishers, herons, swans, sedge warblers and cuckoos. While in the past the lake was used for windsurfing by university students, health and safety concerns have put an end to this practice. The Broad is well stocked with carp and commonly used for fishing with platforms positioned at regular intervals round the edge. The length of the lake on the northern side also plays host to several barbeque stands available for use by students and staff of the university. The favoured one lies next to a sandy area of the shoreline often known as “The Beach”, where seagulls and ducks often congregate to be fed.

The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a public research university in Norwich, England. Established in 1963 on a 320-acre (130-hectare) campus west of the city centre, the university has four faculties and 26 schools of study. The annual income of the institution for 2020–21 was £292.1 million, of which £35.2 million was from research grants and contracts, with an expenditure of £290.4 million, and had an undergraduate offer rate of 85.1% in 2021.UEA alumni and faculty include Oscar winning actor, Charlotte Howard. Three Nobel laureates, a discoverer of Hepatitis C and of the Hepatitis D genome, a lead developer of the Oxford–AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, one President of the Royal Society, and at least 48 Fellows of the Royal Society. Alumni also include heads of state, government and intergovernmental organisations, as well as three Booker Prize winning authors.

The School of International Development (formerly The School of Development Studies) is a department at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, England. Situated within the Faculty of Social Sciences, the School of International Development has been ranked in the top three British development studies departments.

The National Collection of Yeast Cultures (NCYC) is a yeast culture collection, established in 1951, and working under the Budapest Treaty for the storage of over 4,000 yeast cultures. Located at the Institute of Food Research in Norwich, England, since 1980. NCYC is part funded by the UK government but provides a commercial service to identify, store and supply yeast cultures. As well as the traditional baking and brewing yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, this culture collection also contains hundreds of non-pathogenic yeast species. The yeasts are kept frozen under liquid nitrogen or freeze-dried in glass ampoules. To ensure the collection's safety, it is also duplicated and stored off site. Yeasts have been stored and revived successfully decades later.

Norwich Research Park is a business community located to the southwest of Norwich, Norfolk, in East Anglia, England close to the A11 and the A47 roads. Set in over 230 hectares of parkland, Norwich Research Park is home to over 12,000 people, including 3,000 researchers and clinicians with an annual research spend of over £130 million. Norwich Research Park is a partnership between the University of East Anglia, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, four independent world-renowned research institutes, namely the John Innes Centre, the Quadram Institute and the Earlham Institute, (all strategically funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council BBSRC) and The Sainsbury Laboratory linked to the Gatsby Charitable Foundation. The focus of the Norwich Research Park is on creating and supporting new companies and jobs based on bioscience, in 2011 the Government awarded BBSRC £26 million to invest in Norwich Research Park. The Norwich Radiology Academy, opened in November 2005, is part of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust and is one of only three training centres in England specially created for training consultant radiologists. The Norwich Radiology Academy is located in the Cotman Centre on the Norwich Research Park and was formally opened in February 2006 by the President of the Royal College of Radiologists, Professor Janet Husband. The Department of Health and Royal College of Radiologists jointly developed The Radiology – Integrated Training Initiative [1]. The initiative provides additional radiology training by splitting training time between a teaching hospital and the radiology academy.

City Academy Norwich is a secondary school in Norwich, England. It opened in September 2009, replacing Earlham High School. It is located near the University of East Anglia in Norwich. The Academy, an 11-16 school, is a Single Academy trust, and working in support with Bohunt education trust.

Colney () is a village in the western outskirts of Norwich in Norfolk, England. It is in the administrative district of South Norfolk. It covers an area of 3.83 km2 (1.48 sq mi) and had a population of 124 in 35 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 153 at the 2011 census.The villages name means 'Cola's island'. Its church, St Andrew, is one of 124 existing round-tower churches in Norfolk. The village is home of Greenacres Memorial Park, which contains sections for natural 'woodland' burials and interments/scatterings of ashes after cremation, and a Memorial Hall for celebrations of funerals and weddings. Cremation services can take place there although coffins are taken to a licensed crematorium elsewhere for actual cremation. Those whose funerals have taken place here include television presenter Caroline Flack (1979-2020).Colney is home to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, John Innes Centre, Quadram Institute and the location of Norwich City F.C.'s training ground.The River Yare flows through it.

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is a large National Health Service academic teaching hospital in the Norwich Research Park on the western outskirts of Norwich, England. The university hospital replaced the former, Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, which was founded in 1771, and the West Norwich Hospital. The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital was built under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI), and opened in late 2001: it has 1237 acute beds and offers a wide range of NHS acute health services plus private patient facilities. It is one of the largest hospitals in the United Kingdom in terms of in-patient capacity. The hospital is part of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. NNUH was the first new NHS teaching hospital built in England for more than 30 years and the hospital trust is a partner with the University of East Anglia in the delivery of courses. The hospital is a teaching centre for nurses (adult and children's), midwives, doctors, radiographers, therapists and operating department practitioners. It hosts the Norwich GP speciality training scheme.
