Kellerberg (Forchheim)

Forchheim (Oberfr) station is a railway station in the town of Forchheim, in the Forchheim district in Upper Franconia, Germany. The station is located at the junction of the Nuremberg–Bamberg and Forchheim–Behringersmühle lines of Deutsche Bahn.

Forchheim Fortress (German: Festung Forchheim) was laid out after the occupation of the town of Forchheim during the Second Margrave War (1552) by the Bishopric of Bamberg. Today about one third of the fortification works have survived and have been incorporated into the municipal parks.

Forchheim (German pronunciation: [ˈfɔʁçhæɪ̯m] ) is a town in Upper Franconia (German: Oberfranken) in northern Bavaria, and also the seat of the administrative district of Forchheim. Forchheim's population, as of December 2013, was 30,705, and its land area is 44.95 square kilometres (17.36 square miles). Its position is 49° 44' N, 11° 04' E and its elevation is 265 metres (869 feet) above sea level.

The castle in Forchheim (German: Burg in Forchheim), also referred to as a royal palace or Kaiserpfalz, was an important urban castle under the bishops of Bamberg in the town of Forchheim in the south German state of Bavaria. The castle was built in the late 14th century. After comprehensive archaeological and architectural-historical investigation it has become one of the best researched castles of this period in Central Europe. Today it houses the Archaeological Museum of Upper Franconia. The oldest part of the castle is in the west wing where the cabinet (Kemenate) of the Schultheiß has survived, a room which was built onto the old town wall in 1339.

Nothing has survived of the castle which was mentioned in the records in 1127.

Oberweilersbach Castle (German: Burgstall Oberweilersbach) is a levelled mediaeval lowland castle in the northwest of the parish of Oberweilersbach, in the municipality of Weilersbach in the county of Forchheim in the south German state of Bavaria. Nothing of the castle, which was mentioned in the records in the 12th century, has survived.
