The Hochgern is a mountain found in the Bavarian district of Traunstein, in Germany. It is part of the Chiemgau Alps and has a height of 1748 meters above sea level. The Hochgern marks the junction of the municipalities of Unterwössen, Marquartstein and Ruhpolding, as well as the Urschlau Forest district.

The Chiemgau Alps (German: Chiemgauer Alpen) are a mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps and belong to the Eastern Alps. Their major part is situated in Bavaria, Germany and only a small section crosses the Austrian border into the states of Salzburg and Tirol. They reach their highest elevation (1961 m) in the Sonntagshorn, a peak straddling the German-Austrian border.

The Tüttensee (Lake Tütten) is a small lake in the Chiemgau region, the Bavarian Alpine foothills of the Traunstein district, within the municipalities of Grabenstätt and Vachendorf. With an area of 10.8 ha (27 acres) and a maximum depth of 17.3 m (57 ft), it is one of many Kettle-Lakes in the alpine foothills, that resulted from remnants of dead-ice after a glacier retreated.The lake is partly surrounded by well preserved Kame terraces and drains to the north west into the tiny Marwanger Creek to the Chiemsee. At the southern lake shore is a small public beach with an Inn and further amenities. It is one of the warmest lakes in Upper Bavaria. Recent geological and biological research showed that the Tüttensee has an undisturbed profile of peat bog since the Würm glaciation and over more than 12.500 years since.The recent dating of the undisturbed peak horizons refuted claims by amateur geologists, that the Tüttensee was the result of a hypothetical meteor impact within the last 4000 years.

Übersee station is a railway station in the municipality of Übersee, located in the Traunstein district in Bavaria, Germany.

Weitsee is a small lake on between Reit im Winkl and Ruhpolding with an area of 63.60 ha and a maximum depth of 9.30 m. The lake itself is separated into a shallow western and a deeper eastern part by a mountain peninsula. It is the first lake in the Dreiseengebiet (Three Lake Area) followed by the Mittersee and Lödensee. The lakes are located in the valley between the Gurnwandkopf und Dürrnbachhorn next to the Deutsche Alpenstraße B305 (German Alpine Street). Only a few small tributaries bring water to the lake; most of the water comes from a 5 m deep spring which is located at the narrowest part of the lake. All the water from the outflow of the lake ends in seepage at the end of the Lödensee after it has gone through Mittersee. Geological research showed that the water finds its way under the Hochgern mountain to the bog near Bergen, Upper Bavaria. The lake with its beach, the clean water and the distance to the next village attract many people in summer. The beach has also a nudist part which is located farthest from the street. In the winter the cross-country ski run between Reit im Winkl and Ruhpolding crosses the lake.
