The Große Olympiaschanze (English: Great Olympic Hill) is a ski jumping hill located on the Gudiberg, south of the district of Partenkirchen of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany, and is traditionally the venue of the Four Hills Tournament's New Year's jumping.

The Partnach Gorge (German: Partnachklamm) is a deep gorge that has been incised by a mountain stream, the Partnach, in the Reintal valley near the south German town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The gorge is 702 metres (2,303 ft) long and, in places, over 80 metres (260 ft) deep. It was designated a natural monument in 1912.

Kainzenbad station (German: Haltepunkt Kainzenbad) is a railway station in the municipality of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, located in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district in Bavaria, Germany.

The German Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (also called the 'Kinderrheumaklinik', i.e. the Pediatric Rheumatology Hospital) is the largest specialized center for the treatment of children and adolescents with rheumatic diseases and chronic pain syndromes in Europe.

The Hausberg Gondola Lift (German: Hausbergbahn) runs from Garmisch-Partenkirchen (732 m or 2,402 ft) in South Germany up to the Hausberg mountain (1,338 m or 4,390 ft) and the "Classic" ski area of Hausberg-Alpspitze. It belongs to the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn company and is only operated in winter. The old Hausberg cableway built by PHB went into service in 1969. It was a cable car with two cabins, each with a capacity of 70 people, and operated until the end of the 2005/06 winter season. For the 2006/07 winter season it was replaced by a gondola lift by Doppelmayr. It has a length of 2,036 metres (6,680 ft) and climbs a height of 606 metres (1,988 ft). With its 66 cabins by CWA each for 8 people it has a transport capacity of 2,400 passengers an hour. The 50 mm (1.97 in) thick carrying cable runs over 15 pylons. It is driven by an electric motor in the valley station and held at a constant tension by hydraulic tensioning apparatus in the valley station. The garage for the cabins is in the mountain station.

Garmisch Olympia Stadium is an arena in Garmisch, Germany. It is primarily used for ice hockey, and is the home arena of the SC Riessersee of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Garmisch Olympia Stadium opened in 1935 and holds 6,929 people. It also hosted Germany's single home game during the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. This arena also hosted some hockey and figure skating events at the 1936 Winter Olympics. The Olympic Ski Stadium is one of the most popular sights in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It first gained international fame when the 1936 Olympic Games were held here. Today it is famous for the traditional New Year's Ski Jumping that takes place every year as part of the Four Hills Tournament. Visitors can access the ski stadium and the surrounding grounds free of charge any time (except during events). In 2007, the Olympic Ski Jump, which was built in 1923 and subsequently modernized several times, was torn down completely. It was replaced by a new, gigantic ski jump boasting an inrun tower with a length of 100 meters (328 feet). When standing at the top, you have 62 meters (203 feet) of nothing but air between the surface you are standing on and the ground. In the winter, the new ski jump blends into the surrounding winter landscape thanks to its translucent cladding. The inrun tower is illuminated from the inside in the evening, turning into a fascinating sculpture of light.

The Olympia-Kunsteisstadion is a skating stadium located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It was built according to plans of architect Hanns Ostler in only 106 days for the figure skating and ice hockey at the 1936 Winter Olympics. It was opened on 16 December 1934. It contained an ice rink 30 meters by 60 meters for these games. It was a partially covered stadium. The stadium was able to hold 10,000 people. The Olympia-Kunsteistadion was rebuilt in 1939/1940 for the planned 1940 Winter Olympics which were canceled due to World War II. After the war it was reopened in 1948. the stadium received a complete roof in 1964. From 1990 to 1994 it was rebuilt again and is now the Olympic-Eissport-Zentrum of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The Bavarian Zugspitze Railway (German: Bayerische Zugspitzbahn) is one of four rack railways still working in Germany, along with the Wendelstein Railway, the Drachenfels Railway and the Stuttgart Rack Railway. The metre gauge line runs from Garmisch in the centre of Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the Zugspitzplatt, approximately 300 metres below Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany. The line culminates at 2,650 metres above sea level, which makes it the highest railway in Germany and the third highest in Europe. It is also the railway in Europe with the biggest height difference: 1,945 metres, the lower half being open-air and the upper half being underground. The line is operated by the Bayerischen Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG (BZB), whose majority owner is the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Municipal Works. In 2007 the Zugspitze Railway was nominated for a Historic landmarks of civil engineering in Germany award. The Zugspitze is accessible via the Seilbahn Zugspitze from Eibsee Lake or Tyrolean Zugspitze Cable Car.

The Munich–Garmisch-Partenkirchen railway is a single track, electrified main line railway in the southern part of the German state of Bavaria. It runs from Munich via Starnberg and Murnau to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The first part of it was opened in 1854 and is one of the oldest lines in Germany. On 3 June 2022 in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen derailment (2022), a regional train derailed on a single track curve at Burgrain, north of Garmisch-Partenkirchen station.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen Hausberg station (German: Haltepunkt Garmisch-Partenkirchen) is a railway station in the municipality of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, located in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district in Bavaria, Germany.

The Partnach is an 18-kilometre-long (11 mi) mountain river in Bavaria, Germany. It rises at a height of 1,440 m (4,720 ft) on the Zugspitze Massif. The Partnach is fed by meltwaters from the Schneeferner glacier some 1,100 m (3,600 ft) higher up. The glacier's meltwaters seep into the karsty bedrock and reach the surface again near the source of the Partnach. The Partnach then flows down the Reintal valley. Until 2005 there were two mountain lakes here – the Vordere Blaue Gumpe and the Hintere Blaue Gumpe. At the first lake the water of the Partnach was impounded by scree from rock slides. As a result of heavy rain the natural dam, caused by rockfalls, was partially carried away and the lake was completed filled with sediment. As a result, the Blaue Gumpe does not exist any longer today.

Riessersee is a German lake located in southwest Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The lake itself hosted the speed skating events and 10 of the 37 ice hockey games for the 1936 Winter Olympics. Adjacent to the lake, the bobsleigh events took place.
