Primrose Valley

Filey Holiday Camp was a Butlin's holiday camp near Filey, North Yorkshire, England, built for Billy Butlin's holiday organisation. Construction of the camp began in 1939. From 1939 to 1945, the camp was used as a military training base, as RAF Hunmanby Moor. The camp closed in 1983. The camp was served by its own railway branch and station (Filey Holiday Camp railway station) from 1947, however the station closed in 1977 due to greater car ownership. The derelict railway station platforms remain in situ today; however they are on private land. Part of the old camp was replaced by Primrose Valley holiday park, and the adjacent "The Bay Filey" holiday resort. The boating lake was filled in and is now a large green area with a central path through it from the holiday park to the beach.

RAF Hunmanby Moor, (also known as RAF Filey), was a Royal Air Force training camp during the Second World War in Hunmanby, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The site was commandeered at the outbreak of war and returned to civilian use as a holiday camp in 1945. From 1942, many RAF Regiment training courses were run at the site.

Royal Oak is an area in North Yorkshire, England, between Scarborough and Bridlington, next to Filey and Hunmanby. The place itself is marked by a public house, also named The Royal Oak and a railway crossing on the Yorkshire Coast Line listed as being 43 miles 4 chains (69.3 km) north of Hull Paragon station. Two railway junctions that formed a spur to the railway station at Filey Holiday Camp were also located just to the south of the A165 crossing. These were known as the Royal Oak Junctions.It is home to a string of bungalows, and across the A165 is a blue house which was formerly the Gate keepers Cottage. In front of the inn is the location of a deserted medieval village known as Fowthorpe. It was historically part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974.

The Passage Beds is a member of the Corallian Oolite Formation, a geologic formation in England. The subtidal to marine sandstone preserves fossils of bivalves, gastropods, crinoids, echinoids and ammonites dating back to the Late Jurassic period (Oxfordian stage).

Filey railway station is a Grade II* listed station opened in 1846 on the Hull to Scarborough Line, which serves the seaside town of Filey in North Yorkshire, England. It is operated by Northern Trains, who provide all passenger train services.

Filey () is a seaside town and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. It is located between Scarborough and Bridlington on Filey Bay. Although it was a fishing village, it has a large beach and became a popular tourist resort. According to the 2011 UK census, Filey parish had a population of 6,981, in comparison to the 2001 UK census population figure of 6,819, and a population of 6,870 in 1991.Filey was historically mainly within the East Riding of Yorkshire, although until 1888 a small part of the town, including its parish church, was in the North Riding of Yorkshire. In 1974 the town was transferred to the new county of North Yorkshire.

Filey School (named Ebor Academy Filey for a time) is a secondary school located in Filey, North Yorkshire, England. It is the only secondary school in Filey, and it also covers surrounding villages, with a significant intake from Hunmanby. The school is under the Enhanced Mainstream School (EMS) umbrella created by North Yorkshire County Council, which means the school is specialised in Special Educational Needs students.

Filey Lifeboat Station is a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeboat station located in the town of Filey, North Yorkshire, England. It is one of nine operational RNLI lifeboat stations situated on the Yorkshire Coast.Filey's first lifeboat was stationed in the town in 1804 and it became an RNLI asset in 1852. Filey is home to two lifeboats; an Atlantic 85-class, Marjorie Shepherd (B-928), and a D-class The Rotarian (D-859), .

The Church of St Oswald, Filey, is a parish church in the North Yorkshire town of Filey, England. The church dates from the 12th and 13th centuries, with some embattlements added in the 15th century. The building is now grade I listed and was described by Pevsner as "easily the finest church in the north-east corner of the East Riding". St Oswald's church building sits at the northern edge of a ravine that divides the town of Filey in two; the church being located in the North Riding of Yorkshire, whereas historically, the rest of the town was in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The Norman tower has been a wayfaring point for mariners who were sailing between the Tyne and London, and the tower also provided a good point to aim at for those who were landing on the sands at Filey. The position and design of the church, coupled with its size (over 130 feet (40 m)), have led some historians to suggest that the church had a higher importance than a mere parish church and may be older than contemporary thought had given it. Its size, given the sparse population it served, has led to it being called "a cathedral in miniature". The church is also listed in Simon Jenkins' England's Thousand Best Churches.

Hunmanby railway station serves the large village of Hunmanby in North Yorkshire, England. It is located on the Yorkshire Coast Line and is operated by Northern Trains who provide all passenger train services. The station opened for traffic on 20 October 1847 and is the point at which the single track section from Bridlington ends, the line being double north of here towards Filey. As originally built, the line was double throughout but the section to Bridlington was singled as an economy measure in 1973. Further modernisation work saw the signal box here abolished and removed in 2000, with the level crossing automated and remaining semaphore signals replaced by colour lights operated remotely from Seamer. The station is unstaffed and passengers must purchase their ticket on the train. The station buildings remain and are now privately occupied - the main waiting room and the separate ladies' waiting room having been converted to holiday accommodation. Step-free access is available to both platforms via the automatic level crossing at the south end, whilst train running information can be obtained from timetable posters or telephone.Local initiatives, such as door-to-door delivery of timetables in Hunmanby and surrounding villages, lead to a significant increase in patronage of this station between 2006 and 2008 and the increased number of passengers using this station has continued in subsequent years.

Hunmanby is a large village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. It was part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. From 1974 to 2023 it was in the Scarborough district of the shire county of North Yorkshire. In 2023 the district was abolished and North Yorkshire became a unitary authority. It is on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, 3 miles (4.8 km) south-west of Filey, 9 miles (14 km) south of Scarborough and 9 miles (14 km) north of Bridlington. The village is on the Centenary Way.
